Palazzo is the sister resort to Venetian.  Both are owned by Las Vegas Sands.  The two massive resorts combine to be the largest hotel in the world if you consider both to be the same property.  There are 7,117 hotel rooms between Venetian and Palazzo.

Palazzo is a five-star experience from top to bottom.  All rooms would be considered suites at most properties.  The rooms are a small step below Wynn but still among the nicest in the world.

Gambling at Palazzo

The gambling at Palazzo is among the worst in Las Vegas.  All blackjack games under $50 pay 6-5.  There is video blackjack with a $5 minimum bet that pays 3-2 on a natural.

Players willing to wager $50 will find double deck blackjack games where double down after splitting is permitted.  Free Bet Blackjack has just a $10 minimum and pays 3-2.  Spanish 21 has returned to Palazzo.  It also has a $10 minimum bet.  Blackjack Switch is another blackjack variant available at Palazzo.

The high limit 6-deck shoe game is the best game in the house.  Players can double down on any two cards and after splitting.  Surrender is also permitted.  The dealer stands on all 17’s.

Craps pays just 3-4-5 times odds.  There are six tables of it.  The minimum bet is typically $10.  There are eight-$10 double zero roulette tables.  There is one roulette table with a single zero.  It has a $25 minimum bet.  It does not use European rules.  Players lose the entire even money bet if the zero is called.

There are plenty of carnival games at Palazzo and down the Canal Shoppes corridor at Venetian.  Palazzo is one of the few places in Las Vegas to still find Caribbean Stud.  There are two tables of it.  The minimum is typically $10 or $15.  Other carnival games include Three Card Poker, Crazy4Poker, and Big Raise Poker.

Palazzo has an Asian table games pit.  There are four tables each of Pai Gow Poker and baccarat.  The bet limits are $25 to $20,000.  These games are also available in the high limit salon.  There are also four double deck blackjack games in this area with a $50 minimum bet.

There is a stadium-style seating setting for lower limit baccarat.  This has a $5 minimum bet.  There is a live dealer and cards.  Bets are made on screens at the players’ seats.

Video roulette with two zeros is also available at Palazzo with a $5 minimum bet.  The $5 video blackjack permits double down on any two cards and after splitting.  Surrender is available on this machine.  The dealer stands on all 17’s.  It is by far the best low limit game in the casino.

The video poker at Palazzo is unplayable.  There are no games that return 99 percent or more.  The sportsbook is in Lagasse’s Stadium, one of the best places to watch sports in Las Vegas.  Palazzo does not offer a poker room.  The one at Venetian is the largest in Las Vegas.

The Grazie players card is used at Palazzo.  It returns 20% of the theoretical loss in the form of comps.  Players also receive mailers based on past action.

Hotel at Palazzo

The hotel at Palazzo is a five-star experience in every way.  There are 3,068 rooms at Palazzo.  Each is considered a suite by traditional standards.  Some are larger and more luxurious than others.  Palazzo is Italian-themed.  It is the largest hotel in the world in the room count is combined with the Venetian, which is connected to Palazzo.

The standard room at Palazzo is 720-square feet.  These rooms come in the Luxury Suite featuring one king or the Bella Suite that offers two queens.  Each room offers a separate seating area with plush furnishings and a 130-square foot bathroom with separate tub and shower.  These rooms start at $189 per night during the week, $239 on Fridays, and $289 on Saturday nights.  There is also a $30 per night resort fee.

There are larger suites available at Palazzo.  The 943-square foot Fortuna Suite starts at $329 per night.  The 1,283-square foot Siena Suite is available for $499 per night.  The Lago Suite starts at 1,943 square feet and comes in one and two bedroom suites, as well as a presidential version.  Guests must call for these rates.

Restaurants at Palazzo

Palazzo spreads some of the finest dining in all of Las Vegas.  Guests can choose between restaurants at Palazzo and Venetian, most of which are in the connected shopping district.  These include exclusive chef restaurants like Carnevino, CUT, db Brassierie, and Table 10.  More casual options include Lagasse’s Stadium and Grand Lux Café.  There is also a food court with pizza, sandwich, and seafood options.

Venetian and Palazzo are home to several shows.  The Sands Showroom is hosts comedy tours that include Lipshtick and individual headliners.  It also hosts Smokey Robinson Presents Human Nature: The Motown Show.  The Rock of Ages show takes place in 1987 and takes the music from big hair bands of that era.  Dancing with the Stars Live, and Move Live on Tour play in the Venetian Theater.  Frank, the Man, the Music, plays nightly in the Palazzo Theater.

Palazzo is a popular hotel for conventions.  The Sands Expo Convention center is connected to Palazzo.  It is also within a 10-15 minute walk of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

The parking situation at Palazzo is above average for the Las Vegas Strip.  There is an underground parking deck entrance across from Wynn of Sands Avenue.

My Conclusion

Palazzo is one of the nicest hotels in the world.  Its rooms are huge and luxurious.  The restaurants and entertainment options are vast.  High rollers will find great blackjack games and ample baccarat action.  Low rollers will want to find a different casino to gamble.  We recommend Treasure Island, located directly across Las Vegas Blvd from Palazzo.
