A long road! Thanks for your support.
EZ Pai Gow is a winner hands down that no one can deny and your patience and persistence has paid off.
DEQ was smart to give you a shot and add EZ PGP to a stable of games that already had EZ Baccarat. They now have two games that in my opinion will become staples in the majority of pits. I believe that EZ Bacc is now over 500 tables and EZPGP will break 100 tables soon if it has not already. I can easily see EZPGP on its way to multiple hundreds of placements. You did it my friend!!!
Many a developer will be bending your ear with inquiries of what they can do better or should do to increase the chances of success.
The biggest resort in the country picks up your game AND you begin your retirement from casino dealing in the same week?Quote: PaigowdanThe Venetian and Palazzo went live with EZ Pai Gow.
A long road! Thanks for your support.
Double congrats!
Quote: WizardThat is a great placement to get. The Venetian may not be loyal to their employess, but they are to their games. They are one of the few places in Vegas to still have Caribbean Stud and Spanish 21.
This is good to hear. I was there (Venetian) tonight. VERY large action/buy-ins. I snuck in on the game with my GRAZIE card for $500, after UTH and 3CP with the wife. $25 minimum. People were playing $25-$100; I played for an hour, playing $5-$100-$5; I would have lost $50 in commissions on my wins.
I left ahead without commissions. I kinda designed this game for ME, and Pai Gow players like me!
Then went to dinner at Valentinos by the pit (what a fine Italian restaurant), returned, bought in for another $500, with five other players buying in for $500 a piece also as a group. $3,000 in hundred dollar bills go into the table's drop box can in one round of players in five minutes. I didn't even get my drink yet. But then of couse, you do not buy in for $100 on a Quarter table, unless you want the half-life of a rare atomic particle. Apparently, The Venetian Gets Action. Then Dealer gets crap hand after crap hand, with everyone getting paid full pay on their green to black action. Not a moment spent on commission change or short payouts. They Players won, not with huge royals, but just winning more with full payouts on regular strong hands. I saw more more cash handed in and dropped into the table via buy-ins in 20 minutes, - then Fxxsta does in a shift - or a day - working as a dealer OFF-strip. Name a table. It was my first Saturday night off in Seven years, aside from vacation time visiting family. Played from 7PM to Midnight; the pass line bets/main bets were quarters plus, just about. This wasn't the Casino Royal. The night's buy-ins were a down payment on a new car. Minor bitching from the wife.
In every instance, the floor supervision were repectful to their dealers, including one rare break-in dealer. In one instance, the new dealer (good hands, and quick, on three-card poker), paid a player's flush as a straight, and I said, "whoa, he doesn't have a straight." He stopped and took back the payouts, leaving the player's original bets, then he paid it correctly.
I was waiting for the player to act like an AP from this board, (to snatch that money, and to point a gun at me), but the player simply said to the dealer, "yes, that is correct now" to the dealer after he corrected it, and he was fine with it. And the dealer thanked me. Then the floorlady simply said to the dealer, "No problem, Xhiu-Zhen Lao Fu Chien Wong Choi, - but be more careful next time: NO ante bonus on the straight, and the flush pays three times, not six." Done with it. A Classy place. (This was not Boulder highway!!!)
Anyway, the Venetian was jammed, as was EZ pai Gow's two tables. So far, so good.
Is this your less than subtle way of reminding us of your impending retirement, or that it already happened?Quote: Paigowdan.... Fxxsta .....
Either way, congrats and best wishes.
Quote: 1BBDid you introduce yourself to the pit or tell your fellow players that you invented the game? I might be tempted to do the latter.
Actually, no. I didn't tell the pit, as it might be as improper, or come off as checking up on them. I feel little need to do it, only when someone has a question about the design or history of the gme. We just play and chat about numerous things.
Quote: DJTeddyBearI suspect that if you ever do introduce yourself, it will not be believed. You'll probably get a few "Bullshit!" type replies.
Yes, that's happened. Once one player introduced me to another new player at the table as the guy behind the game, when I was even dealing it at the Fiesta, name tag and all.
His response? He claimed that he KNEW/HEARD OF the inventor of EZ Pai Gow, and that he bought a house in Thailand and was living with a few young girls, and that "some $7 an hour dealer in Hendertucky" shouldn't make such a claim, a real "Yeah, Right, asshole!" kind of response. A howler.

Yes, it has happened, last week.

Did they get rid of 6-card poker? I had seen it once when I was there over the summer, and when I went back over thanksgiving I didn't see it. I was going to try it.
I did notice the carribean stud, though. That game is a dinosaur. I don't understand why they keep it.
(nice jab, BTW) :)
Be very careful investing in DEQ, but my opinion is this company is an up and comer with EZ Bacc at over 500 installs and now EZ PGP going right down the same road. Keep up the good work, Dan!
"We expect EZ Pai Gow to be a strong contributor to growth in FY 2013"
EZ PGP table placements grew from 39 to 66 during the twelve months ended 11/30/12. Congrats Dan......the EZPGP rocket ship has left the launch pad!
DEQ has added quite a number after the first of the year, and all are proud of the Support that the game is receiving at just about all of the Station's properties: Red Rock, Green Valley Ranch, Boulder Station, Texas Station, Fiesta Henerson, Sunset Station, Santa Fe Station, and Fiesta Rancho are all doing a very fine job with the game!
The Venetian and Palazzo are doing great!
