Crossposted from my post on Vegastripping:

Annual Wedding Anniversary trip to Vegas. We usually stay at Venetian/Palazzo but we protested their new comp policy by trying Wynn for the 1st time.

1) Took a limo to/from airport for the 1st time (Presidential Limo) as a suprise to my wife. She was...pleased! I recommend it. Presidential rate included champagne & rose for the wife. Driver was personable and efficient.

2) Had a shave at the Salon at Wynn. I am very knowledgable and picky about shaving (look up my ID on Youtube sometime) and I've had my share of good and bad shaves. This was a good one.

3) Walked up to Sahara to see it before the May 16 closing. Very unhappy employees there, like watching a Death March. Sad to see. Bought a $2 casino chip to take with me.

4) Walked down to Cosmo. Interesting interior, wife says she might like to try staying there on a future trip. I can't help but wonder when some accountant will decide the "islands" of machines/tables with couches & lounging chairs will be better used with more machines.

5) Speaking of machines, walked through Venetian/Palazzo (the large vertical "Palazzo" signs have been removed from the building...hmmmm...). Venetian has added many more machines (reconfiguring the secondary table area) and seems to have made the machines even tighter (if that's possible). The de-theming along with the concentration on conference traffic has sucked the soul out of the place. I think I'll start calling it Zombie Venetian (very upsetting since wife & I were married there & were steady customers before the comp policy change).

6) Wynn: food very fresh, well-prepared, tasty...but cost about 25% higher than it deserved to be (and far higher than adjoining properties); good selection of machines (though we ran into 3 instances of machine failures, a concern for a high-end property like Wynn); OK selection of table games (but...WTF...2 tables of 6:5 "blackjack"?!?); emplyees pleasant and helpful (except one guy at the casino host room who kinda stuck up his nose at our play). We ended up breaking even on gambling.

7) The east side of the Strip between Harrah's and PH has gotten decidedly tackier since our last visit.

Although brief, nice report.

Possibly because the porn slappers are on the East side?
I invented a few casino games. Info: http://www.DaveMillerGaming.com/ ————————————————————————————————————— Superstitions are silly, childish, irrational rituals, born out of fear of the unknown. But how much does it cost to knock on wood? 😁

They've always been there to one degree or another. But some the casinos we walked through (IP, Flamingo, Bills) were noticably dirtier than our last visit (only 9 months ago). Even the outside of Paris and Bally's seem to take a hit (though not so bad on the inside).
