Quote: wizardofbuffaloWow. Do you go to Seneca Niagara or Buffalo Creek? That is an amazing deal but I never get up to Lockport.
Today is Wedn so since I have blown so much at Buffalo Creek, they give me a $50 food credit once a week.
The WD steakhouse upstairs is way overpriced and overrated in my opinion. Yet the Clams Casino are hit or miss.
The first time I had them when it first opened up - 5 big ones. The next time they were much smaller but still OK.
Yet the white Russians at $10/pop are mush better than on the gaming floor. Besides they are only open 5-9
wedn-sat... I'm just gonna go into The Creek this afternoon and get some chicken fingers and a beef on weck
to go. Not even gonna gamble today other than my free play and a couple small sports book parlays cause I
have been drinking since 2am. Tis the season. Happy holidays...

Yes Seneca Niagara. No Buffalo Creek. I like the WD at SN. Slightly overpriced but I love ‘no tax’. Used to go there a lot when ‘drug reps’ were allowed to take us docs. The $189 seafood tower is great when someone else is paying! We have some non gambling friends who like the Western Door so we probably go two or three times a year with them.
If I’m gonna eat there with my Pai Gow buddy we eat at 3 sisters cafe. It’s average.
If you ever want good Italian in Niagara Falls (a few minutes drive from casino) my wife loves Michael’s. Nothing to look at but RIDICULOUSLY big portions. My leftovers are heavy to carry!
Last night wifey brought home Panera. The grilled cheese was not as good as I make at home.
politically incorrect and almost shunned. 3 Sisters is probably the equivalent of The Creek.
I haven't ventured up to the Falls since April but if I do I will check out Michael's. The restaurants
in the Casino at the time were still just getting going again after the Covid nonsense.
Thanks for the intel. Happy holidays

It’s not almost shunned…. It is illegal for the drug reps to provide gifts or anything of value (maybe $10 limit?) to a doctor. There are ways to get around it of course.
I get the eggplant parm. Wifey usually the lasagna. Must have the salad first. Lots of mozzarella and chick peas!
Remember….. no ambiance, just good food. After first post friend is now taking me to Sabres game Friday. So it’s possible we will be eating first at Seneca Creek. Coincidence….

I am guessing that you are not married.
I would never ask her to sit apart, I want to be with her. I just save up my seafood cravings for when she is out of town or if I go out on my own or with friends. She always tells me to order whatever I want but after seeing her once get taken to the hospital by ambulance I will not take that chance.
In January she will be going to Europe for a few weeks so I will be eating lots of shrimp, scallops, and crab,

I always enjoy watching the Lightning. Stamkos always delights.

In any case, I had other game in the freezer not getting used and sure enough it’s traditional to add any and whichever game meat you’ve got; I even had some leftover lamb I put in. It made an enormous batch which took hours and hours. I am preserving it by reheating it entirely every few days. It keeps getting better! I followed this recipe fairly closely https://honest-food.net/kentucky-burgoo-recipe/
Bottom line: I doubt I ever produce any ground meat from a deer again, not if I process it!
I didn't take this picture, but represents it well
1 box pasta, cooked and drained - I usually use Barilla, either medium shells or rotini
12 ounces milk
1 egg (or 4 ounces egg-like product - important: NOT "egg white")
4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
Mix well, then bake 25 minutes covered at 400 degrees
When it doubt, I just use the 30-second button, and my nose.

Toaster oven (with an air fryer setting) is the best way to reheat almost everything, and it’s not even close.
if you are using a microwave with different power levels, don't t default to highest one. I usually use power level 7 and check on it a minute at a time.( If you don't have a toaster oven like unjon suggested)Quote: ThatDonGuyPut a previously oven-baked chicken tender (topped with ham and Swiss) in the microwave for four minutes. I’d say the microwave is okay for reheating liquids or moist foods like soup and pasta. But for anything else, use the oven.Quote: ThatDonGuyPut a previously oven-baked chicken tender (topped with ham and Swiss) in the microwave for four minutes. For example, a slice of pizza reheated in a microwave will be soggy. In the oven, you can make it come out almost identical to when it was originally served…crisp crust, perfectly melted cheese etc.
Nothing against toaster ovens but I get excellent results from an oven so never tried. Limited counter space and I rarely have leftovers
5:23am rehaeated chicken finger from Bflo Creek yesterday. The fries suck but with some added in hash

I think that’s a Buffalo thing. Since you bought a pizza and wings combo, and the wings came with blue cheese…. It’s a natural fit…. Wifey likes the leftover pizza cold. I heat mine up usually adding minced garlic.

If memory serves, some chilis include mole paste, which includes cocoa or chocolate.
Ham & cheese sandwich, but it's early - and cold.
Stay warm, people.
monday, when I'm near there - I will devour Panera's soup in a bread bowl - somebody mentioned it - I had forgotten that dish and haven't had it in a long time
can't wait

Brings back a memory! In The Villages. I order that exact soup in a bread bowl. Cashier tells me they are out of bread bowls. I tell her…. “What are those on that rack behind you?” She answers that at the end of the day they donate leftover bread to a local food pantry. I tried to explain to her that since a customer wanted one it wasn’t ‘the end of the day’ yet. She went to get her manager, who agreed with the cashier! Wifey didn’t want to walk out, so I had soup in a bowl with bread on the side….. I think they gave me a discount….
Had whitefish salad this morning. I love smoked whitefish.

When I was growing up in the fifties and sixties there was no such thing as a tri-tip. I never heard of it till I moved to California and lived in Santa Maria for a while which is pretty much the birthplace of the tri-tip. Everybody ate it and everybody raved about it and when I had it I couldn't figure out what the big deal was. Just another cut of meat.

I bought the corn at the local farmer's market but used Mexican sour cream and cheese. For some reason, Mexican sour cream doesn't melt away like its American counterpart.
The biscuits were excellent. Thr gravy and eggs were OK. The biscuits made up for it.
Something called a "fish box" from a Tennessee gas station I've never heard of (with a branded foodservice program I've also.never heard of - Chappy's?) , which is apparently two huge crispy filets of catfish, a mountain of fries, and a yeast roll. (They were out of.coleslaw.) The fries were disappointing. The yeast roll was very nice.
The catfish was splendid - a well seasoned, peppery crumbly batter, crisped nicely, enveloping slabs of fish as wide as my wrist and almost the length of my forearm.
Hmmm. Interesting. I used to get catfish like that in a place in Arkansas some 50 years ago and nothing like it since. Farm raised catfish [I don't believe there was any such thing back then] can be disappointing in the extremeQuote: DieterBojangles Biscuits & Gravy, add an egg.

There is a pizza place, more a bar actually, that a single slice of pizza is so big I didn’t finish the ONE slice for lunch. Only $5 for a slice. Very tasty. Walking distance.
I may be repeating myself…. But during last Bills game…. ‘Bill’s Fan Bar’. Moondoggy’s. Free buffet. Hot dogs. Buffalo style chicken lasagna! Pulled chicken! Caesar salad. Make you own nachos. I had two martinis. Wife an Angry Orchard. We each had diet soda. Unlimited refills. Before tip it was $20. We donated $5 for some 50-50 drawing and gave our tickets to the one guy in the place wearing a Bengals jersey! (The Bills we’re playing the Patriots, but the week before played the Bengals in the Damar Hamlin game).

My wife had the linguine carbonara which she also thought was too dry. I poured the ‘bread oil’ onto mine which helps. I’ll be adding some olive oil to hers when I heat it up for my breakfast momentarily.

Living in northern New York I don't know if you get much Amish food. Sarasota has a couple of Amish restaurants if you want to try something different.

There was a highly entertaining "reality" show on tv a few years back called The Amish Mafia. The featured people would be all Amish while in Lancaster, but sneak off to Florida for vacations.
There are a lot of Mennonites in Southern Arizona, most of whom seem to have "Amish style" shed-building companies.
Did I know what Kefir was a year ago? Nope.

I hear it's not bad when mixed with raisin bran cereal.
I bought a microwave pasta maker and experimented with it last night. It has four water levels for different types of pasta as well as a device for measuring serving sizes. Two servings of spaghetti take one level of water and cook in nine minutes, while two servings of rigatoni take a different amount and need eleven minutes. I tried both and am happy with the results. It's not perfect, but between the altitude and my limited space,, this seems like a solution. It's got holes in the lid to drain the water when finished and seems like a nice time and space saver.

When people say something is “an acquired taste” that’s what I’d call it. First time users might crinkle up their face though,

Fair enough. I suppose if one is accustomed to "milk" on breakfast cereal blends, "extra pulp milk" may seem unappealing.
Yogurt is about the only way I'll ingest the stuff.
