Mee too, but if this site can't take a little joking sarcasm then do what you got to do. Was that post not a joke ... "I haven't yet decided whether I need a stimulant or a sedative"? I certainly hope so.Quote: DieterQuote: AxelWolfAll My drug dealers (obvious experts) all asked that I not quote them.Quote: Dieter[Citation needed]

A classic play of this type is an "eight ball:" doing smack and coke simultaneously.

I agree, you don't want to mix Smack with anything. I hear it is the ultimate drug. The only drug I would actually consider doing.

The mix you refer to above is a "speed ball".

Thanks, I think. Is that a compliment? I have no idea. I've never watched either of those shows. I could see where I might look a little like Offerman when I am older, except my eyes are hazel with some blue in them as opposed to just blue.

I'm sure it was meant in jest, but I don't see how any comparison to Jim Brockmire could be a compliment.

it could be construed as in insult. i agree. i sincerely apologise and hope i don't commit the same kind of offense again. i think i need to clarify as well, that i did not INTEND to insult anyone. it was simply a joke. if one were to substitute the nationalities with "miser 1" and "miser 2," perhaps more would have appreciated the joke, too?Quote: Mission146https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/betting-systems/36356-wellbushs-trip-reports/5/#post820802
I'm here to discuss the Suspension of Wellbush for a statement made in the above-linked post. I should assume that this Suspension will be added to the list in the near future.
As we can see in that post, a statement was made that violates a couple of rules here and potentially a few more:
Rule 1: No Personal Insult
---In this statement by Wellbush, an anecdote (fictitious or true) was made concerning a well-known stereotype that is made of the Jewish community. It stands to reason that there are more than zero Jewish or part-Jewish people who post here, in fact, I KNOW that there are (but will not identify them individually) and this post rises to the level of Personal Insult against all Members of that community.
dittoQuote: Mission146
Rule 12: No Bullying/Trolling
---See above.
if the post could not be seen in any other way, why have a number of different posters expressed differences in their opinion, to 146's? also see my explanation above.Quote: Mission146
Rule 18: Hate Speech
---Again, this post can be seen as nothing other than HATE SPEECH based on a known stereotype of the Jewish people. It is this sort of speech that fosters violence and hatred towards members of that community whilst perhaps fostering existing biases or perhaps causing people to have new biases.
i haven't read through the rules to argue against your post here. nor do i need to. that's because you cannot double up one offense, if the offense can be applied to two, or more, different rules. it would be different if the one offense had two different parts to it.Quote: Mission146
Rule 19: Controversial Speech
---The speech is about a particular, and specified, religious group and a stereotype related to them---so it's tough to get more controversial than that for the purposes of this rule.
you view my post as hate speech. others, including me, certainly don't!Quote: Mission146
Wellbush is coming off of a 30 day ban as of July 30th. Granted, this site doesn't operate strictly on Martingale policy anymore, but a seven day ban for hate speech seems extremely lenient given the length of the most previous ban.
i've done this sincerely (and stated the intent of perceived offense was never there)Quote: Mission146
It would be one thing to give someone a seven-day ban for this if they had no prior infractions, agreed to make an apology upon returning
Says who?Quote: Mission146and whose posts were of substantial value to a gambling community. This is not the case with Wellbush.
i have decided to tone down. time will tell, not your forecast.Quote: Mission146Of Wellbush, the following things are true:
1.) He has been suspended already for Personal Insults and Trolling. There is no reason to think, that when this Suspension ends, this behavior will not continue.
that's 146's opinionQuote: Mission146
AND:
2.) Wellbush is a betting systems advocate and, if there is a single post that has any FACTUAL value to a gambling forum, I have certainly never read it from him.
and we're getting a lot of itQuote: Mission146
Therefore, it is my personal opinion
146 thinks it's serious. I would argue that the only offense was that my post could be CONSTRUED as offensive.Quote: Mission146that given his previous ban, seriousness of this offense
i could argue that there are a number of posters (including naysayers) who think i add value to this forum. and i genuinely think 146 adds value, too (but others, and myself, may not always agree with him)Quote: Mission146and overall value of his posts to this Forum
shikes! i'm glad 146 doesn't have "the button!"Quote: Mission146that Wellbush should be Nuked.

I haven't read through your entire post to dissect and refute each point.
Maybe it was intended as a joke.
Maybe that was considered.
Ethnic jokes have been discouraged in polite company for at least the last 30 years.
One act can certainly break more than one rule. (I don't suggest crafting a post specifically to tag all the bases.)
In any case, welcome back. I hope the few days away wasn't too hard on you.
BTW, what's happened to OnceDear?

BTW, what's happened to OnceDear?
Water under the bridge indeed.
I'm not aware of anything "happening" to OnceDear.
People aren't obligated to spend their day online, you know - there are birds and trees and fresh air outside.
(Let me know if that last line worked. I'm thinking of trying it on my daughter later.)
Wellbush also seems to acknowledge that his post could be seen as violating multiple Forum Rules.
I'm not the arbiter of what remains or doesn't remain to be discussed, at least, I'm only the arbiter as far as I go. For me, there's nothing left to be discussed on this matter.
Quote: WellbushNo, didn't work 😊
Yeah, that's what she said, too.

OD has told us that he is taking a couple of weeks to focus on the real world after not having taken a vacation from his moderator role for the past 3 years. He is keeping in touch with Dieter, Wizard and I by personal messages and advising us as needed. And he's definitely coming back to WOV forums - so we'll still have OD to kick around, lol.

A suggestion - I'm not sure what software this forum is, but a custom built forum I am a member of, has this feature where when you want to quote someone, you simply click 'quote' and much like how this quote turns out, it gives you the full text, however, it also handily includes a link to the post the quote was from, so users can more readily jump back to the referred post (which is handy, if a post was long, you'd want to strip out the irrelevant bits to keep the relevant quote).link to original post
The unseen hand shows itself.
Thanks to the technical crew.

I just wish to say that, except for two people, I harbor no hard personal feelings about any member of the forum and wish everyone else well. It is not my intention to cause any stress or hard feelings. For the most part, I view it like playing Monopoly -- sometimes you land in jail.
On top of that, change the normal price. 25%, 50%, 75%…increase; I don’t know. If you have someone to play with, just tinker around until you find rules you like.
