I think that will take a while. I don't think they will suddenly pull the rug out from everyone? That's the one thing I didn't like about Trump. I'm Republican and have no problem with Trump. Alot of Republicans and voters in general have forgotten how easily and soundly he defeated all the Republican frontrunners in the primary despite the GOP elite resistance. Does this even hint that the American people are trying to say something???? I firmly believe America will speak loudly on election day. Hillary is in for a shock.

Trump's conciliatory message did calm down the market somewhat. For those with high risk tolerance, it would be a good buying opportunity tomorrow if the stock market drops big.
IMO, Trump is a liberal disguised in a conservative mask, so I’m not really concern about his policy. What bother me is the fact that we had just elected a racist, bigot, sexist and rapist to lead our nation.

Who's going to pay their taxes now? Trump didn't pay his. The IRS was so cowed by the the prospect of a long legal wrangling that they were willing to overlook the high probability that tens of millions were owed by Trump and remain uncollected. Even so, if he appoints two conservative judges it will likely do a lot of damage to liberal/progressive policies.

I really hope you are right. Some life choices we have made in the last 8 years have been based on ACA. If he gets it reversed as he has pledged then I am not sure what we are going to do. I was hoping for the Senate to switch to dems to at least drag out the change. With no opposition I think he can change things rather quickly.
Expect the worst and you will never be disappointed.

Big deal. Obama did not care about unifying the country. The idea is to appoint judges who will follow the original intent of the Constitution, not pursue agendas, not be activists, and not treat it as a "living, breathing document."
The USA dodged a huge bullet on what Hillary may have picked. And not the Senate can run out the clock on the remaining Obama pick, same as Obama treated Bush picks when he was a Senator.

My apologies to Maxpen for thinking he was a loony. I guess I was a loony for believing in the media controlled mass of polls. Although no bet was made, I feel I owe Maxpen a beer at the minimum. And Mike owes me a crisp two dollar bill!
My younger son is distraught. My girlfriend is distraught. My ex-wife is distraught. I am not happy, but I am not distraught. I don't think this will be as bad for the country as all the liberals think, nor do I think it will be as good for the country as all the Trumpers think.

This is kind of where I am at as well... it will certainly be interesting. And I've said it before: I'd much rather have President Trump than President Cruz!
In all likelihood, my life won't change much. My taxes will actually probably go down if his deficit exploding tax plan goes through.
My biggest "fear" is that he can overcome what everyone says in a very short attention span and do everything that is necessary to keep us safe here at home.

You hit it right on the head. Your life wont change that much, nor will most of ours. We will continue to get out of it what we put into it. The opportunities are there for those willing to take them. The rewards might be a little easier to get without government in the way as much for us. My hope is that in a year of two everyone can see we are on a better path as a country.

Both sides were 'selling a bill of goods', they always are, both sides.
With Republican control of Executive and Legislative branches, with a friendly Judicial branch, maybe some jhit can get done. I hope they get off their asses and get to work, working on the work, rather than just working on getting re-elected. I hope they proceed with caution, but proceed.
