What kind of an AP doesn’t use a CC for airline miles? Or one that allows miles to be converted into bus tickets?

BTW - my experience is people with CC SLOW DOWN the lines not speed them up. Ever be in line at a grocery behind someone using a cc?
Checking ID, then swiping, waiting for approval, then reciept to print and wait for signature... and heaven forbid the swipe doesnt go thru and you have a 10 minute argument about what went wrong
At any rate I have a prepaid card. I just dont like using it except for Ebay and Amazon purchases and for Expedia for travel

I suppose it's not a bad idea if one doesn't mess up, but counting on future credit to be able to pay back money that's already gone seems like a recipe for disaster.
He claims that paying cash for everything makes him spend less. On that, I agree.
Now that I'm retired, I don't spend enough to chase reward points. My landlord charges $6 to pay by credit card.
The only cards I use are my Amazon which gives me a 5% statement credit and a master card that gives me nice benefits when I travel. I just don't travel enough yet.

Not missing out if you don't qualify. I'm not aware of any secured cards that have rewards.
On the other hand, everyone getting points and rewards are only getting a 50% rebate on the theft from their pockets. Funny to watch people get all giddy about an orchestrated shakedown.

There are many AP plays as good as or better than hustling reward miles. One doesn't have the time to do all of them.
I remember the perfect storm when Healthy Choice was giving 500 miles per UPC and King Kullen ran a .99 cent sale.
Forty boxes got you a round trip anywhere in the country for $40.

That's a pretty high standard. Suppose one has five different AP plays. None of them pay enough that you can count on it to live, but add them up and life is good. When you have multiple income streams, no one of them can threaten you when it inevitably dries up. I believe Aesop wrote about the very situation. Something about keeping your eggs in separate containers.
