Have you been there? It is actually good. Close to east coast pizza. You don't often get good pizza on west coast

I thought dinner might be somewhere like Triple 7, since a certain Wizard promised a certain member who he owes 134,459 beers that he would buy a round for all of us and we'd call it even.
I have been to Pizza Rock numerous times meeting up with people and whatnot but I don't think I have yet to eat their pizza. Do they have deep dish?Quote: GWAEYes pizza rock for lunch Saturday. They were talking about hiking in Sunday then lunch too

umm obviously.... This crap will be set in stone like this week.
Remember, a lot of us are coming from out of town. Not like we can just roll out of bed jump in the truck and go with the flow. I am only in town for 4 days so gotta somewhat have a gameplan. She wants to see a show so gotta figure out where to squeeze that in.

They have many different styles of pizza and 5 different ovens to bake them in. Check out their menu here.

And the meatballs make an incredible App.

oh and as far as deep dish.. Giordanos is the only place to get that. Not sure how the vegas one is but the original in downtown chicago is amazeballs.

Been going to Northside Nathan's Detroit Pizza as of late. It's good, but I want better.

We are talking about eating there Sunday. After our last trip when we almost went there wife wants to try it out. I was going to suggest it for our dinner but I think it is a bit far if people are hanging downtown.

It's on Sahara. Maybe 5 miles tops from downtown.

Their Sicilian is very similar to a deep dish, it has a very thick crust but is square.
Their Margherita is incredible but they only make a certain amount per day and sell out often.
Some of their pizzas are huge but if you have a good size group, grab a few different styles and everyone can try some of each.
Their prices are high for DT but the quality is great and they are still cheaper and far better than Five50 at Aria IMO.
And you can wash it down just a few steps away at Hogs & Heifers. Certainly an experience if you have never been there.
Quote: MaxPenIt's on Sahara. Maybe 5 miles tops from downtown.
yeah I know its close but most of us won't have a ride unless we all uber, then would have to uber back to downtown for shenanigans.
Dude, please be considerate! That would take DarkOZ 3 transfers and 2 hours on the bus.Quote: MaxPenIt's on Sahara. Maybe 5 miles tops from downtown.

I was just commenting on their prices. I have been there a few times and never realized that the pizzas were almost 30. I remember the pizza being large pizza but some of them say serve 2-3 people.

When I was last in Vegas it took about 35-45 minutes from the strip to the Fremont experience on a city bus. Maybe an hour if my memory is off
Like most things in life people who have never partaken imagine the worst.
Today most places even have apps to download which tell you where the city bus is so you dont wait too long at the stop. They use this new thing to track the location of their busses called Global Positioning Services
The people you get to meet....
PRICELESS!

Little old men living on farms and corn fields from Indiana?

I agree! That place is fun too, it has a motif like a secret mafia bar. If they ask for a password to get in say "Benjamin Franklin." I'd have suggested it, but it's kind of far from the Strip.

Have you tried the brew pub at Four Queens? It takes forever but is worth the wait. Deep dish is about my fourth or fifth favorite pizza, but that is the best deep dish I've encountered here.

I'd eat Little Caesar's before I ever got that pizza again. Provided your talking about the bar on Blue Diamond. One of the top 10 worst, just my opinion. Only time in my life I got sick from pizza.

It shouldn't take too long, with the SX. The main problem is, it appears to be about 1/4 walk from the nearest westbound bus stop.

I would probably just hail a cab anyway
I am not car averse. I just don't drive.
I have taken most forms of public transportation. Boats planes trains and automobiles.
No horses or camels or llamas but I am animal averse so unless they are giving a good casino bonus for arriving on horseback its not gonna happen
Quote: darkozI would probably just hail a cab anyway
I didn't think you could "hail a cab" in Vegas - well, you could telephone for one, but you couldn't, say, hold out your arm and yell "TAXI !"
I practically live on the buses myself whenever I'm in Vegas. One of these decades, they'll reach The M.

That is true and most people from big cities don't understand that is against the law in Las Vegas. You can only get taxis on the strip and downtown at a designated taxi stand. If you try to waive one down from the road they will not stop.

Im sure thats why Uber is putting them out of business
However I understand that already. You just walk up to a concierge or valet at the casino and tell them to whistle for a cab
I have taken cabs in Vegas before.
What most people dont know about city folk is we are pretty adept at figuring out transportation means
LOL.Quote: ThatDonGuyIt shouldn't take too long, with the SX. The main problem is, it appears to be about 1/4 walk from the nearest westbound bus stop.
I was just busting his balls.
If he needs a ride and I'm available I would have no problem with that. That goes for most everyone coming to the WOV event.

Bill. Back when they were running that free play deal up to $50 back in free play, we ate there more times than I can count. It was fair, but nothing special.
Drich, I have not tried that. I will put it on my list.

I ought to have the Jeep fully built out by then. I could transport DarkOz via Railroad Canyon trail.😁
I never said there was anything wrong with the bus play. I thought it was a good deal if you could round up enough recruits.Quote: darkoz$50 back in freeplay?

The $50 fp thing you could do it at 2 different locations. I rarely, if ever, went down there to just eat. But if we were down there already or were having lunch with someone, that's where we would go. Hell, when I fist started, I would play $1 or $2 match plays that you got for free outside slots of fun.

There were no recruits in the bus play. The bus riders were way too savvy for that.
The bus play was taking 3 round trips which at $45 apiece minus bus fare was a $100 a day play.
This was an early play and I was still not making enough to have my own place so the bus doubled as my day long place to lodge.
Sleeping quarters and earning $100. Cant beat that at that early phase of my career
Obviously moved onto much better opportunities. Now I make enough to not only support myself but I have a payroll that supports a number of others fulltime as well
EDIT: The reason you could get the bus bonus 3 times a day was because the Sands did not card or apply the freeplay to your players account. They simply handed out generic freeplay players cards to debarking bus riders

And you ate the free donuts and if things were going good, you bought the .99 1/2 Hot Dog and .75 beer.
Place is a total sh@thole now, years ago it was always busy.
Don't really care for hotdogs much (occasionally loaded up with everything to kill the taste of the dog itself). Back then, I only drank on some weekends while going out to clubs, going out with friends or dates or shooting Pool.Quote: BozAnd you ate the free donuts and if things were going good, you bought the .99 1/2 Hot Dog and .75 beer.

I disagree. I have gone there quite a few times. I usually get the prime steak dinner, which is a ribeye, and it is about $40. It is one of if not the most expensive meals they have. How this place is justifying double prices for a group is outrageous. I will be sure to discuss with the manager next time I go there.
Yes, it's a good place but something is wrong here.
Quote: GWAEHeard back from Capos today. They will not make a reservation for a large group (over 8 is considered large) at all unless you book their private room. If you book their private room they require you to pick one of their packages. See below for the details that I was sent.

Several questions
Does the per-person price include all tips? If not, that's an extra 18%+ for a large group.
With their family style, do they refill all portions until everyone is done, or do they pro-rate out dishes and run out of this or that based on what people actually eat?
Is the alcohol package all or none? Like, do they give a wristband to those paying for that, or otherwise identify those drinking, or is everyone paying whether they drink or not?

My guess is (see above) it includes tips and AYCE on your fixed menu items, which IMO would probably justif the price if the quality is there. IDK.
