Quote: beachbumbabsSeveral questions
Does the per-person price include all tips? If not, that's an extra 18%+ for a large group.
With their family style, do they refill all portions until everyone is done, or do they pro-rate out dishes and run out of this or that based on what people actually eat?
Is the alcohol package all or none? Like, do they give a wristband to those paying for that, or otherwise identify those drinking, or is everyone paying whether they drink or not?
I sent your questions to them. Will report back.
ETA: at the same time I was posting I got an email back. I asked again about tip.
We give you platters of food through out ur table which is more then plenty trust me you won't leave hungry lol if anyone wants refills yes they get it and only people who want the bar package can get it not everyone has to have it
Musrhooms and Bruschetta are both $10.95
House salad is included with dinner
dinners are around $20
soft drink $3.50
cheese cake $9.95
So if wife and I came in and just ordered basically the $60 per meal we would order 1 app, 2 dinners, 2 drinks, and 2 cheesecakes. Our total would be $74.35 pre tip. Through the group it would be $120. If tip is included in the 120 then it is close. especially if you factor in getting AYCE (which probably doesnt matter since portions are large). If tip is not included in the 120 I don't think $45 extra is worth just having a private area. MHO..
I will be eating here on this trip one way or another.
*The above was mostly sarcasm. While I love the buffet, I think asking attendees to either not go to dinner or spend $70 is asking too much. We should keep it simple like we always do. At least that's my vote.
Quote: RomesIf we're willing to spend $70/person why don't we just eat the Bacchanal in Caesars for that amount. Most of us could probably comp it off then too lol.

FWIW...I've been to several WoV events. When we order ala carte, they put it on one big check. Somehow I'm usually the one collecting/verifying. More often than not, (like 3x out of the last 5) the check comes up seriously short. And I've (voluntarily, I admit) been among those who make up the difference.
So, there would be a certain advantage to a prix fixe menu (like this), where everyone pays the same in advance, walking into the party. Whether it's this place or another, I'm just saying, not pointing fingers, but that's been my experience.

WTF? The fact that you (or anyone) had to deal with that is embarrassing.
I don’t think anyone attending a Fling has any issues doing math, so it seems someone figured out an AP play.
That said, I would like to believe it was an error and everyone there would have pitched in so you didn’t get stuck.
Or there is the Boz edict that “No good deed goes unpunished “.
A few of us have discussed a couple options via PM. Sorry if you were not included. We weren't leaving anyone out and was just spitballing a little. All opinions are welcome. I think we should stick to one of the original ideas. Would only run around $20 max per person without multiple alcohol drinks.
I will get a PM chain going tonight with those options. I dont mind speaking about it on here but there are multiple people that have requested that we dont .
Quote: GWAEFYI, spoke to nacho daddy. They can not accommodate 20-25 people. We can speak to the owner to see if he can make it happen but probably not a Saturday night dinner
Well that settles it call Chuck E Cheese ;-)

Hell I am for chucky cheese. They have great gambling games technically speaking including wheels and other games of chance.
Even my 8 year old wont complain
And their pizza isnt too bad
Quote: RSWhen in doubt, go with Chipotle.
That has multiple meanings.

Its much better now. Did you have it 10 years ago? Could not have gotten any worse than that.

Still no answer on whether tips are included in that per-person rate, or did I miss it?
Quote: beachbumbabsStill no answer on whether tips are included in that per-person rate, or did I miss it?
No she didn't respond to that question, but I think we have a pretty good census on not to do it there. 4 people in this thread and I got messages outside this thread that they dont want to go there.
Quote: GWAEdiscussing options for Saturday night dinner
Saturday night? I thought Capo's was being mentioned for Sunday night, and that Saturday night would be something more "lowbrow" like, say, 777 at Main Street Station.
Quote: WizardAs much as I like Capo's, I think it's not appropriate for the situation. I know a lot of people that attend are on a tight budget and it is rather far from downtown. My suggestion is keep it downtown and fairly economical.
That brings us back to chucky cheese?

After party at the high limit bathrooms somewhere for a colon cleanse

That's really sad.

It's pretty typical in such gatherings, especially when you get into group appetizers. If someone doesn't step up and ramrod the collecting, people tend to underestimate their share.

Quote: rsactuaryI think this stems from the fact that people look down the list and add up the items they consumed, forgot to add the taxes in, and then are stingy with the tip. It adds up to a short on the bill when you get to total it.
Many people eat shared appetizers but when settling the bill think only of what they ordered, and they tend to undercount their drinks.
The solution is simple enough- let someone else collect the money.

Yes it is very common to have this happen. I generally think it is unintentional. Tax and tip add up quickly. Throw in some drinks and total gets scewed in their eyes
Quote: darkozHow much has the bill come out to in general at past gatherings?
Total of 300-600 dollars. depends on where and how many attended. I heart burgers ran about 20/head, 777 about the same, pizza place last year ran a little more, not including alcohol.

Okay
Serious offer here:
I will put up $500 to cover dinner
If it goes over every one else can pay contribute to the difference

I'll double down and help you out with dinner. I'll pitch in $5 for dinner. That'll make the total for us $505. If it goes over, other people can make up the difference. Us generous folk, the two of us, shouldn't have to add in any more since we're already being so generous. What's the most expensive restaurant in Vegas again? Let's go there.
No, djatc, we ain't going to Red Lobster

It does not matter to me if we go to an expensive restaurant because my $500 offer will still be $500
It just means the others will have a greater likelihood of having to chip in something significant
FYI, You can't buy your way onto the cool kids table full time for only $500. (-;Quote: darkozOkay

Quote: billryanA very generous offer. I think we have some money already banked from Nathan, don't we?
The "Money," I gave towards WOV for my lost Lottery bet is not actual "Money," it was a gift card. :)
You have to be joking, right?Quote: billryanIdeally, someone will video tape the affair and give out individual checks after careful review.
Then they would catch me.
AND KENTRY!!! Of course they would both claim they cant/wont fly. However, I think DO could give them some tips on bus ridding.Quote: MaxPenShould allocate DarkOz's generous contribution to an airline ticket for Nathan. I'm sure we could come up with a comped room and meals for her as well. ༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ
I will contribute to a bus ticket if they both agree to come and Kentry has to log into his account. Oh he does not have an account... LOL
Mike could un-ban him for that I guess.
