There is a lunch on Saturday?Quote: ThatDonGuyHave any times been specified for the meetups?
For example, I know there's a Saturday lunch at Pizza Rock, but what time does it start?
Quote: AxelWolfThere is a lunch on Saturday?
For the kool kids.
So then where are you going to be having lunch?Quote: billryanFor the kool kids.
You will be missed.
Also please make sure you read your PMs. If you want a text or email instead let me know.
Quote: billryanI know where the dinner is and I know the activity directly before the dinner but if there are plans for other days, I am in the dark.
I am only involved with Saturday. My flight doesnt get in until 10pm Friday. There was talk earlier about some Friday and Sunday things but I haven't heard anything

The trouble with Sunday is, pretty much every sitdown place will be mobbed for lunch/Sunday brunch as it's Mother's Day.
Right now, my plan is to grab a bus to the Pinball Hall of Fame (well, two buses - a Deuce, then transfer to a 201) on Sunday afternoon, then eat dinner somewhere on the Strip if the restaurants aren't too crowded.

I am definitely down for pinball hall of fame.
Early sunday event?

I didn't intend it to be an organized event of any sort.
Also, I didn't intend on going until after I had lunch somewhere, as it doesn't open until 11 AM (and like I said, it's Mother's Day, so I am expecting most of the sit-down places to be full).

We were thinking about doing either raos or giadas for Sunday dinner. I just looked and they both have plenty of reservations open. I was surprised
Break a leg!Quote: PokerGrinderAbout to board my flight to Vegas, sadly it’s not a direct flight.

Dinner openings on Mother's Day, unlike, say, Valentine's Day, are not that surprising. I have always seen Mother's Day as a "brunch occasion" more than a dinner one.

Joe Rogan was talking about that last week. Said you are an a hole if you ask someone to take you to the airport when uber is so affordable .
Quote: PokerGrinderWe don’t have Uber or lyft, my aunt drove me lol. In fairness I’ve taken/picked her up from the airport before.
Canada does not have ride share? That's weird since some of those 3rd world places you went had it.
Quote: GWAECanada does not have ride share? That's weird since some of those 3rd world places you went had it.
In Italy Uber was pretty much just in Rome.

Of course they don't have Uber in Canada. It's basically a 3'rd world country. I can picture it now, "Sowry for the delay, sir. Sowry, but the moose we'll be riding to your destination iglee was hungry so we stopped at Tim Horton's on the way to eat poutine and drink tea. Sowry, where aboat are you heading, eh? Sowry, the moose's name is just the letter 'Z', pronounced, 'Zed'."
And before someone says I’m being “ignorant,” then if they don’t ride a moose to the airport then how come every pro sports team from up there has the most ridiculously stereotypical nickname, like everyone didn’t know the team was from Canada if the name didn’t remind them? Raptors are the only team with an acceptable sports nickname. Maple Leafs ok that’s just offensive but arguably acceptable otherwise, Canadians and Canucks as team names are you kidding me what kind of lameness is that? The only other comparable team name even close to that lame that I can think of is “Hoosiers”. And Flames is a lgbtq? unfriendly team name, I think, probably.

I almost always ask a friend or relative to drive me before I choose a Lyft or Uber because I would rather put money in their pockets rather than some corporate entity and unknown driver.

Never been to Giada's but Raos is one of my favorite places in town.
You do realize you are putting them in danger? In my experience going to and from the airport can get crazy since there is lots of traffic, people are oftentimes rushing, cab drivers are maniacs, lots of pedestrians. I'm not going to have my Wife drive me to the airport and then drive back home when I can get an Lyft for about $13.Quote: darkozQuote: GWAEQuote: AxelWolfOutdated song:Quote: Puckerbutt

Canada has Uber but my province told Uber they would have to insure their cars like cabs which costs a ton so Uber said no way Jose.

So you put strangers in danger with no qualm?
Its patently ridiculous to argue its too dangerous to drive to the airport. People have been doing it for years.
Its also dangerous to cross the street. Should we all take Ubers to cross the street.
And fat chance of finding an Uber from my place to the airport (there are 3 within varying distances) for just $13 bucks in NYC.
The Buses to the airport here would take way too long and there are none where I am at. I would have to take a bus to the bus to the bus to the airport train shuttle. It would actually be easier to get to Atlantic City by bus than the airport

Quote: ThatDonGuyGetting ready to leave...but first, checking the Vegas weather...what do you mean, heavy rain today, followed by showers pretty much all weekend?
It was colder when we stepped off the plane in vegas yesterday than what we left in NYC.
So much for desert paradise
8 days ago I looked and it was going to be in the 90s. Planned on swimming Sunday and Monday. Looked the other day and it will be 70s. Still may be able to swim monday. I dont think planet hollywood has a heated pool. Pittsburgh tomorrow is 82 and Vegas is 78.
ETA, just looked again and only 20% rain tomorrow and 87 and sun Sunday. Looks like the weather has changed again
Quote: billryanLast night was the longest soaking rain I've seen in three years out here. Most storms pass over quickly. This one just sat.
Why did you people have to bring all this rain with you?

You can use that when you are short of masks.
Quote: GWAEWaiting at airport. Says on time. Have been on spirit about 14 times with no issues. Was expecting today to be the first time. Plane is still flying in so there is still a chance. Flight is also oversold so I will probably get bumped.

I mostly slept through it, but judging from the thunder it lasted for hours. Wish it happened during the day. Rain is a special occasion here.

Come visit me, have had 2 days of rain. My grass went from short to about a foot tall in 48 hours

Ok on plane. Had 3 people volunteer to get bumped for a $500 voucher. Was talking to a girl and she said she Hope's to not get bumped because she spent over $200 on her tixket one way. I can not imagine paying that much for spirit. I can fly southwest for 179, my spirit was 210 round trip for 2 people
