Diversify is going to be some chalk that's hard to resist at Belmont Saturday
loves the track and the distance
has some sizzling recent workouts and they only breezed him
2 races back at 1.25 miles he split 6 furlongs in 109.65 and a mile in 134.00 and still gained in the stretch
he'll probably be bet way down
maybe not too bad he doesn't have a lot of name recognition
She earned about 30k
he probably wanted a bourbon and ginger and wanted to watch some soccer 😆😁😅

Quote: FinsRuleHave you wanted to own a piece of Shackleford?
I'm pretty sure that the horse named Shackleford was named for Lynn Shackleford who was a great left handed from the corner jump shooter who played on the legendary UCLA teams with Lew Alcindor who later became Kareem Abdul Jabbar. He was an example of so many very talented college basketball players who just weren't up to snuff for the NBA so their careers back then all ended at age 21. Very limited offerings to play ball in foreign countries back then. Not like now.
The UCLA player’s name is spelled differently than the horse.
Quote: FinsRuleI thought it was named for a place in Ireland or something. I could be wrong...

yeah, you're probably right. they wouldn't misspell it. didn't notice that. my bad.
Enable is the even money fave in a field of 18 and won it last year, and she's won 7 in a row, the last 6 being Grade 1s. if she wins he could be a major star in the Breeders Cup Turf probably taking on the boys.
she is one of the all time great fillies
for new customers only who do not have an ExpressBet account or their ExpressBet account is inactive (not used for 13 months)
they say the promo ends on 10/21 but I would guess they will extend if for the Breeders Cup
this is pretty generous -

Breeders Cup pre entries come out Wednesday.
I’ll probably start a separate BC thread then.
Ah, well. Probably next week for her then.Quote: FinsRuleMy two year old filly Raintree Starlet makes her debut at Hawthorne today in the 4th race. She’s been working out well enough that she should have every chance against this group. 6-1 on the morning line. I will be betting.

Unsafe Track Conditions Force Hawthorne To Cancel Racing Until Dec. 6

Raintree finally debuted yesterday in a Maiden Special Weight race in open company She closed extremely well to finish 3rd at the odds of 16-1. I think she has a bright future.
(Bright as in should win a race or two in her life)
You bet from Canada via say Hpibet.com on a track in the states
your wager on the pic 5 comes in
its a very nice score
is it taxed ?
buddy sent me a text few hours ago his ticket
it was after the first three legs were complete...$18 winner $4.80 winner $148 winner live with 4 horses next race and only 1 in final race
both come in and ticket is just shy of $20,000 on his $64 Canadian bet
tax free or is he helping trump build the wall?
I had a winning year but only by a tiny %
I'm not happy about it
I don't make a lot of bets - each year I become more and more selective
for the New Year I've decided I'm only going to bet a horse if he has been making strong stretch moves and is not a deep closer
deep closers run into trouble too often
he can be a stalker or a closer coming from not very far back
no more fading speedsters
my days of grabbing a handful of horses are over
homey don't play that tune anymore
it's a great example of the crowd staying away from a horse because they overrate the factor of class
he was stepping up in an allowance from $25K to $46K
quite a few of his rivals had run in higher grade and dollar races; one in a stakes race
they left him alone because they thought he was outclassed
everything else pointed to him being the best horse in the race
horses like this going off at 5/1 sometimes (pretty rarely I have to admit) are what makes betting racing fun

I need one too with all of these horse bills.
She’s the morning line favorite and breaking from the rail.
Facing a lot of first time starters. Hopefully they aren’t anything special.

Thank you so much. We are trying to not get too ahead of ourselves, but we are obviously thrilled.
She’s headed to Oaklawn. We will see how she handles the tougher company.
Quote: JohnzimboI sometimes look up race entries and result at DRF.com, now I can no longer see either. Anyone else have the same issue?
Looks like DRF has switched to a paywall format
After seeing your post I wondered if they were getting more stingy with some of the most basic fundamental race data, which is produced mostly by the tracks not the publishers of end-use products, and that the racing industry has in the past been adamant about insisting has to be kept mostly free flowing. So I did a quick little experiment just now, checking the ability to get both simple entry info and full result charts from DRF without logging in at all, not even with a free version of a DRF registered user account, on a machine where any trace of my existing accounts for sometimes buying other data products & digital publications would not be known.Quote: JohnzimboI sometimes look up race entries and result at DRF.com, now I can no longer see either. I had no trouble at all getting the charts and viewing them in any of several PDF reader equipped browsers, including Chrome & Firefox & Opera. Here's a link to the full card PDF result charts of yesterday's Santa Anita races, which I'm looking at while disguised as an anonymous racetrack flea who probably collects cans & bottles by the side of the road and possibly has never bought any kind of premium DRF stuff in his life: RESULT CHART And here's a link to the track list page for viewing DRF entries for today's races: ENTRIES For the solemn occasion of going deep undercover on this investigation I put on the standard Vegas degenerate moocher's badge of a tacky Station Casinos giveaway cap & for good measure even added a tattered ~30 year old Hollywood Park hoody/sweatshirt that's mostly been used to wipe off windshield bug splatter for about the last 20 of them. Not only am I seeing the full charts, but I can (still) download and save those PDF files or print them out at will.
If you can't get them from that same web location above, I wonder if it might be some kind of issue reading the file format with the software on the device you're using? I dunno, but there's an easy alternative if you don't want to futz around with whatever is in the way of you seeing these things at DRF. Putting aside any narrative chart notes, Equibase uses exactly the same quantitative data inputs originating from the output of the very same sources and individuals and equipment when they construct their version of how to present it, with their freely available CHARTS (also in PDF format) and ENTRIES And I usually prefer going to Equibase for result charts, because moving around the Form's site for the same stuff is more clunky to me.
I really liked their assortment of PPs
I'm guessing Brisnet didn't like their PPs being publicly posted for free and is behind them going down
I don't know about any switch in what is and isn't behind the paywall. I'm not seeing any difference in that, either from reading that marketing description or from actual observation of what's there, and where.Quote: ThatDonGuy
The products described in the link seem to be yet another wave of supposedly new & improved versions of their traditional past performances, which have always had a price tag in whatever delivery method since long before any of us were born. To make & sell those racing information products involves using the raw data from entries and result charts (like the public box score of a game). And creatively regurgitating and adding things (like speed figures & variants) to create a visual presentation of running lines that with some narrative editorial content (and a fair bit of cheesy tout crap) has been known as "The Form" for many, many, many years. When put in digital form that's been protected behind a paywall since the very first day the Racing Form got on the internet. I was one of the first customers paying to get my "PPs" digitally from DRF at least as early as about 1995-ish or so IIRC.
But I'm still seeing their basic entries and full result charts publicly available, with no login at all, without having anything to do with an account for the paid products. If I'm mistaken and completely missing something about this and have somehow accidentally hacked the toll gate on their wall, then ->->-> Equibase.com.
Now that would be really disappointing. I really liked having that resource too. And I also get:Quote: lilredroosterdownthestretchs.com is down - it's a long shot but does anybody know if they have a new web address?

Whatever the Hell that means. Gobbledy-geek to me. I think I take it to mean "this joint's busted, and y'all are now cordially invited to go screw off and die, so scram." Grrr. Not shocked, for the same reason you're speculating is involved, but still not happy to see that.Quote: https://downthestretchs.com/Warning! Domain mapping upgrade for this domain not found. But. At least for now, happily, there's a "but." Which I don't want to go into publicly, for fear that may get it stomped on, sooner rather than later. I will PM you, trusting that you wouldn't go advertising this other aspect publicly, under the circumstances.
DRF online and the app have undergone many "enhancements" over the last few months.

I think it makes a lot of sense that you guys decided to shorten her up instead of stretching her out
if she does another 1st quarter like last time she's gonna be real hard to catch
Good Luck!
I just watched the race on computer - she won again and looked great and paid great at 6/1
again:
Congratulations
Quote: FinsRuleToo excited to type a long post. On cloud 9.
Watching her win that race was an amazing feeling. And we get a nice check for it.
It looks like she’s headed to a stakes race at Oaklawn again on 2/16 for 100K.
I actually think she can improve off this race. A top 3 finish would be amazing in a stakes race as it would increase her value as a broodmare significantly.
Competing in stakes races this early in my journey as a horse owner is crazy. Within 6 months I’ll have had a horse compete (and finish 2nd!) in a 125k harness stakes race and now a 100k thoroughbred stakes race.
These are both horses that I paid only $100 and $150 for per share! I know this run will end sooner than I want, because in the 3 years I’ve been doing this, I’ve already experienced a lot of ups and downs.
So I’m just going to continue enjoying this and dreaming big.
I think I know what the chart writer meant but I don't think I've ever read that comment before
