I am jealous of you and your cats.
We got two cats about 8 months ago and the female cat (Penny) is just starting to warm up to us. For the first six months she preferred to just keep her distance but now she will occasionally start to approach us for some petting. Her brother (Pete) has been super affectionate since day one.

I have 15 cats and they are not all affectionate, there's a couple that won't come near me. But with so many cats I always have one that I can pet, always. I have lots of things they can sit on and there's always one sitting within distance of me petting them. My wife had a cat years ago that would attack me whenever I went to her house. It would wait and hide under the couch or under the bed or behind the door and when I least expected it it would come out and literally attack me and draw blood. My wife thought it was hilarious, I plotted murder..
Quote: EvenBobI've been on a pillow craze lately buying cheap bed pillows from Walmart and cheap pillowcases by the dozen and putting them around for the cats. For a cat laying on a pillows is like laying on a bed and I want to have enough so there's at least one pillow for every cat and I have 15 cats. Right now I've got about 10 pillows. The pillow in this picture is on a bench and I just put it down about 6 minutes ago there's already a cat sleeping on it.

His head looks big compared to his body. My cats are just the opposite, little heads big bodies (ie. fat).

I have a couple cats that have fat softball heads. I like to grab them like I would grab a softball and they like it too. You are trying to entertain yourself with just two cats, it takes at least five for it to get interesting. With as many cats as I have there is always something going on. I totally understand the old cliche about old women and cats because if you have a bunch of cats you can't possibly be lonely. It's like having a house full of kids.

If you mean goofing around with each other yes, cats are very nocturnal and they sleep during the day, especially in the afternoon. At night they tear around like maniacs but they're not allowed in my bedroom so I don't hear most of it. Sometimes I dread getting up of what I'm going to find but most of the time it's not bad. Last week they got ahold of a new roll of paper towels and the thing was unraveled all over the house. For a cat that's like going to Disney World.

I am fine with my dogs and cats in bed with me but I might feel different if I had 13 cats.

About five of them are. They also have fat heads. Lots of people love fat cats.

If Drich was that cute, maybe his wives would allow him to sleep on their bed with them.

No doubt. Probably a bunch of young hot college girls at a sorority would take turns changing your litter box.

At 58 years old I can't even fantasize about that anymore. I would be happy with their mothers.
Quote: DRichOur cat died about a year ago and I am ready to replace it with two kittens. The problem is that we have two large dogs in the house and I am not sure how the German Shepherd will do with kittens. The shepherd has a high prey drive and brings us animals into the house that it catches in the yard (rabbits, opossums, birds and a raccoon).
I am currently travelling a lot for work and don't trust the dogs with kittens when we aren't around.

German shepherd’s usually do well with small kittens, but be careful sometimes they choke on the bones.

Yes, that was an old post and we have since gotten kittens and the German shepherd did real well with them.

What a gorgeous kitty.

They look like they might have stole that bottle of scotch.
The big one is old, cranky, and no trouble.
The little one is a fairly young kitten, eager to play with everything. He immediately attempted escape as soon as the door started to open.
He was promptly tackled.
Once his empty dishes were tended, he decided he wanted to climb me and start licking my face. I think he was going for any trace of the shrimp that might remain.
He spent as long as he could going nose to nose and rubbing his face on my cheeks.
The big one is sick of his antics, and was hiding in the basement.
No pictures. The catlet won't sit still long enough (even when held), the big one isn't photogenic enough.
