Find the cat in this photo.

Another brilliant cat photo by my photographer friend, Teresa Kaufman, in Chamonix, France.

This is one of those two black kittens that I got last summer, the male. He is turning into one of my favorite cats because he's so funny and so inquisitive and very affectionate. He has a white tip for a tail and a really sleek coat almost like a mink. I just got this bench today and of course he was the first one on it.

I see cat furniture in the background and a box for cat toys. That cat furniture is expensive and they probably mostly ignore it. Give them a cardboard box that's what they live for.

They use that cat tree every single day for sleeping and getting away from the dogs The top level of the tree is about 6 feet high so even the tall dog doesn't pay too much attention to them up there. . I think it was about $150. They do like to get in boxes but the dogs pay too much attention to them when they are in boxes.

Yes, I realize that our animals are very spoiled and that we spend a lot of money on them. The kids are grown so they don't cost us much anymore so we have to spend the money somewhere.

It happened again, another June and somebody left a little kitten on my porch in a box. When people know you have a lot of cats they think oh he won't mind just one more. Here he is trying to destroy a new roll of paper towels which I had to punish him for severely. I kissed his belly six times. He'll think twice next time.

If you want to see your cats go crazy buy some of these catsprings. They are incredibly cheap I got 60 of them for $6 on Amazon. I throw a couple of them on the floor and it will entertain four cats for 20 minutes while they chase them around like idiots.

It's amazing how fast they lose them and you can't find them and then you come across them at the most unexpected times. That's why I buy them in packages of 60 because they disappear into the abyss.

He's at that age where he's a holy Terror, if I open the door he runs through it. If I come on my office he comes running up to greet me. And he's so smart for his age, he's already figured out what it takes other cats weeks and weeks to learn. Smart cats are always the most entertaining though when they get older. He's a little pest and I have to punish him daily by picking him up and kissing him every time I see him. I do it because they don't last very long being this adorable, another month and he'll be three times the size.

This actually makes me want to create an indoor dog park with slippery floors and ramps. I think you should add soft bumper sides for them to bounce off of.

Also, with all the sliding, you probably wouldn't ever have to clip the dog's nails.

DRich, Sorry or Congratulations, as appropriate.

EvenBob, two total is generally the practical limit. The amount of work expected of you seems to go up exponentially with the wife count.

I have a question for the cat thread. We are catsitting my older daughter's kitten for four years. This kitten is fast, playful and energetic. When we tried to clip her nails we couldn't get her to sit still for the process and accomplished nothing. Any advice? We had the same problem with our own cat 20 years ago and simply gave up.

Watch a few cat nail clipping videos on YouTube. If you still can't do it and have money to burn take it to the vet or a groomer. Personally I don't clip any of my cats nails because I would be constantly healing scratches. So I have nothing they can ruin with their claws and I give them lots of cardboard boxes which they destroy. I also have a couple of scratching posts but some prefer the cardboard.

But DRich is a man of many wants and needs I don't see how one wife would ever be enough. I don't even live with my wife and it's almost too much sometimes. Some days I just want to be left completely alone and not bothered, good luck with that happening. I tried giving her another cat but the place where she lives now has so many rules about animals that it's just not worth it.

Bob what are your Vet bills yearly? We have three indoor cats and one of them quit eating for 3-4 days, had to take her to an emergency vet and $750 later she is back to her normal self thankfully. Most years we have zero vet bills though.
