Quote: unJonMan that’s a great spot at the end. Can’t look at the results, just the decisions.
I know cant be results oriented and all that, but it still hurts. Watching $900 get pushed across the table was sad. At least the person who won is someone I play with often. He said he felt bad.. lol not bad enough to give it back though. The bad thing about hands like those are you don't get them often. So even though it was a great spot and I would play a pot like that every day of my life, I might not see one again this year.
I expect to see several hands like that anytime I put my chips on the felt. Yesterday a pot began as a five-way hand, mostly among some semi-tight & often timid local grumps, and my AA that flopped a set became the third best hand on the river. Ho-hum. And I knew it, and mucked without a whimper. Less than 30 minutes later my clever set mining with a small pair was a nice looking hand to turn over for a moment before seeing it had been drawing dead to one out vs. set over set on a totally dry looking board.Quote: GWAE...I might not see one again this year.
And I had no gripe and didn't feel particularly put upon, as my four hours was a winning session that net-net just about tripled my buy-in, so this time those chips came home to live with daddy after sloshing around. And while it was a result that's above the trend line of my long term hourly for that small stakes game, the volatility did not amount to anything all that exceptional to me. I think people often routinely under-appreciate the magnitude of the effect of randomly changing just one single card on one board per day of play. And emotionally mask the real -/+ $ value of the game for them by failing to keep rigorous records of exactly what they do, always, every time, for a long time, with an unwavering commitment to the bigger picture truth it eventually tells them, no excuses, no exceptions.
Yes, and you are permitted to feel that way for approximately < 1.75 seconds. Feeling victimized is bad poker medicine. When that attitude creeps in, even a little, I suggest taking a break. And under the international laws of the poker universe, in case you didn't already know this, one is required to toss a red chip into the fountain or derelict's hat or whatever on the way out to atone for each 'bad-beat' story.Quote: GWAE...but it still hurts.

Hah, I can't back the DVR up any longer, but I guess it was the "g" missing.

I think 2+2 has a bad beats forum. Those are guys who play all day every day. As long as you can vent out the hand and not let it affect you, you should be fine.

Yeah I was just venting. I definitely feel better now after a flipped straight flush vs nut flush an hour ago. Plus won the $400 high hand.
Its towards the rear for sure. Just not to far back.Quote: GWAEWorking on sons pine wood derby car today. Been a long time since I did one of these. I forgot, I know I need to add weight but should it be on the bottom or the top of the car. I believe it should be in front back wheels as well. I thought it it would go to the far back but maybe that would make it do a wheely

No, I believe he said it means gambling without an edge.
Any good father would have bought one pre-made by a professional.Quote: GWAEsigh. Pinewood derby weigh in is tomorrow. We have had the it since november and we just started working on it this week. We had it all done and the last thing to do was glue down the axels. I guess you are supposed to do that so the wheels dont fall off. I guess I used too much glue and it ran into the tires. now gotta run to hobby store tomorrow and buy new tires.

I actually watched a bunch of videos on it. Most of the techniques aren't really cheating unless your derby doesnt allow them. Our derby doesnt allow 3 wheelers. Some of them say to make so one of the front wheels doesnt touch the ground. Gives you almost an entire car length speed difference.
For example, many Americans do not embrace the #MeToo Movement. or BLM, or antifa.
I wonder: what locales in the world might become vacation destinations for traditionalists who just want to be in a place on vacation that was like it was fifty or sixty years ago?
HeToo vs. MeToo.

Traditionalists will vacation at the same places as non traditionalists
Take Vegas. Traditionalists still flock to vegas despite it being sin city
Who is in the audience for the Donny and Marie show, traditionalists

You may soon be in luck. Check out Glenner Times Square. Soon we will have similar places for the Woodstock generation.

You missed the point. Its part of a growing theme where malls and companies are catering to specific audiences. Soon, if your ideal vacation could be the set of a 1960s surf movie, you'll be able to do just that.
I suppose I was thinking people would be traveling to other areas of the world in order to experience what they'd call a slice of "the good old days."
Maybe places in central or South America?
You're envisioning a place sort of like Disneyland, but for male chavinist pigs.

"the good old days" are right here in Florida
We have a theme park dedicated to the good old days if you consider the good old days over 2 thousand years ago in the middle east
Check out Holy Land Experience
They have a daily crucifixion if that's your thing

Who wins and why?
My prediction: the Pride of the Philippines suffers a knockdown but roars back to knock AB down and out for the KO victory tomorrow night. I'll say... eighth round.
Wish it wasn't on Showtime PPV. This is a (free on regular TV) Premier Boxing Champions main event, not a PPV main event (sorry, Pac-Man).
Wish even more I was in Vegas this weekend to watch from ringside.
I also predict if Pac-Man does win, Floyd enters the ring WWE-style and "challenges" him to a rematch (or straight up announces it's a signed-and-sealed done deal already).

Naw
Reddit is to public
People on reddit may know about a private chat site with the info
but
Everybody knows you post the video feed link on reddit, the site will be taken down very quickly
These type of video links are posted on private sites with access just to members
I watch concerts and when somebody posts the link on reddit, people get furious and demand the link be taken down asap because they want the private free stream to remain up and running
Quote: RSidk bout that because that's how Someone Who Isn't Me watches NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL/etc. streams.
NBA is still terrible though idk why i even included that
Depends on how vigilant the rights owner is
Nugs.net sells streaming live concerts of Dead & Company and Phish.
A year ago, I could find links on a private room chat site, Discord
They have become very vigilant recently at shutting down bootleg streams
The survival of their company is dependent on shutting down bootleg streams
These days no free stream links can be found, even on Discord private chat rooms
The fight is 75.00 PPV. That kind of money, you gotta think they will be vigilant.
Quote: djatcNever had a problem catching a professional sport on one of those streaming sites. HD quality and everything. Big fights are kinda tough but usually you can get a stream with a Russian announcer or something.
Cool
Please post the fight link in this thread when you find it
I'll watch it for free :-)
What's the date and time?

I have gone this route for a fight I really want to watch but do not think is worth paying for. As we are aware, it isn't the most reliable. Ah, the buffering... or getting kicked off right in the middle of a good exchange in the middle of the 7th round, only to scramble a way back in to finish watching...
I am a big enough boxing fan that I will pay to watch at a movie theater (Canelo-GGG I and II, Canelo-Cotto, Mayweather-Cotto, for example), go to a sports bar (Pacquiao-Marquez IV) or just actually pay for it at home (Mayweather-Pacquiao, which I half seriously still want a refund for).
They really should have put this one on for free on PBC on NBC, FOX, or CBS. Because of Pac-Man's age but moreso based off their recent fights, tonight's main event is on the level of Garcia-Thurman and that was on free TV (and being kind to Pacquiao-Broner when I say that).
If this main event were several years ago, then yes, it would have been PPV worthy and I wouldn't be whining about it as much.
