You've already chosen to make it your problem by living in a society.

You make a good point. We shouldn't treat anyone like trash, and we should should treat everyone with more compassion by doing what you can, when you can. Unfortunately, I cant give everyone money who asks me, or I'll end up homeless myself. It gets a bit annoying to get asked for money on the way in, and on the way out whenever I go to any store, restaurant, shopping complex, etc. It gets really annoying when they come right up to your car window, some of them will even knock on the window. I know damn well if I stop to make a call in a store parking lot somome will come a knocking. Yes I know, bid deal, I get annoyed at something compared to their problems. But if you add up all the times and all the people they have annoyed and harassed its not some small issue.Quote: lilredroosterquite a few of these homeless beggars are war veterans damaged in combat

people who talk tough like that often stop talking so tough when something like this happens to a member of their family

because of the worlds' staggering 7.5 billion population in many countries many of the poor are treated as disposable or slaves
just being human doesn't have value anymore
hopefully this country won't come to that
and BTW in 2010 the worlds' population was less than 7 billion.
now it's 7.7 billion
incredible
I can't believe they allow theses guys to stand and walk the median strip in the middle of busy intersections. That has to pose a safety concern for everyone involved. It should be illegal to panhandle in most areas. I would take it one step further and make it illegal to give them money. People who give them money are part of the problem, if it didn't work they wouldn't be doing it. I have a feeling many people give money to the panhandlers, do so out of guilt.
There should be Kiosks set up where people who want to give can print out that amount in food and bus vouchers with shelter and help information on it.

A few years ago my daughter moved
into a nice apartment complex. It
was on the 2nd floor and she shared
a balcony with apartment next door.
A really nice older couple lived there.
I said don't do it, you'll regret it. She
got furious with me. Sure enough,
the daughter with a newborn moved
in a few weeks later. Then the son
and his GF moved in. Slowly people
started showing up at all hours night
and day banging on the door. The
son was selling drugs out of the
apartment.
When her GPS was stolen out of her car,
she got the hint and moved. I didn't
mention the race of the neighbors, I bet
you can fill in the blanks.

Trick question. Race is irrelevant.
They acted like that because they were poor and trashy.

Wrong. The parents were well dressed
drove a newer Caddy. Hardly poor
and trashy. Interesting you went right
to that stereotype.

I mean the extended family that had to move in, not the couple that originally lived there.
EDIT: Also, living in an apartment complex and driving a new-ish Caddy is not necessarily well-off, especially depending on where you're talking about.
Miami Beach? Okay, they could be wealthy.
Suburbs in Kansas? Could definitely still be poor (and trashy).
but there's still a hell of a lot of Caucasians who commit crimes - including really heinous crimes
I'd be willing to bet that there is a much smaller % of people with Asian heritage convicted of serious crimes in the U.S. than Caucasians
would any Caucasians like to stand up and say that makes Asians better people than Caucasians?
I don't think so.

The Asians I've dealt with seem
to be very family oriented, interested
in education, and upwardly mobile.
I've said for 30 years Asians will
rule the world eventually. It's
inevitable. They aren't bogged

Weird.

Weird.
They became capitalist out of necessity. They
will become more and more so and the
communism will slowly fade away. They're
better at capitalism than anybody on earth.
And they're never in a hurry. They believe
that slow and steady wins the race. You
cannot beat a people like that. Smart,
disciplined, and patient. Americans are
none of those things.
When given the choice of EU or China,
US diplomats will always take China.
The Chinese have a great sense of
humor, even self deprecating humor.
They know how to relax and have fun.
EU leaders are the opposite. They're
devoid of humor, especially self
deprecating. They have huge egos
and a stick up their ass about everything.

Personally, I'd try another brand, but if soap works for you, I say go with it. BTW, shaving cream essentially is soap, just with a lot more tiny bubbles to make it foamy.

Haven't used it in years. I shave in the shower with soap. No mirror.

It's always good to keep a can of the stuff in your medicine cabinet to impress the snoops but I rarely use it when shaving. These days I shave every few days. I go for the unshaven look, but as soon as it appears like I'm growing a beard, it's time to shave.
Quote: lilredroosteranyway, because of that, today I shaved using soap instead - worked fine - won't be buying any more shaving cream I think
I've been using the soap in the shower routine for more than 20 years. The steam/water softens the skin and I think it's a superior shave, with the bonus of not needing to buy anything else.
Unlike Ron I do use a small shower mirror. Makes it easier to make sure you don't miss a spot.
Quote: onenickelmiracleI have a thick beard, I'm not taking any chances on my skin being any more irritated than it already is. Even when I shave, my beard hides just under the skin. The only time I get a better shave is when my beard is long. It's possible these multi-blade razors are the reason, but I don't know.

My dad had a shaving mug with
a round piece of shaving soap
in the bottom, He lathered it
up with a sheaving brush and
it worked fine. I did the same
when I started shaving.
Soap is a good lubricant, it
was made from fat originally.

Shampoo and soap isn’t too bad, as long as you use the frothy kind.

Quote: GWAEI probably have 30 posts in here about agt and magicians. Has anyone seen Shin Lim. I just watched the final from last week. His tricks have got to be fake. I understand slight of hand but no way he throws cards and they end up in howie's cup. Judges got to be a stooge on these tricks which is disappointing. I prefer the close up slight of hand crap instead of using stooges.
All magic tricks are fake. Using stooges is just one way of accomplishing an effect.

If the display is correct, then I would look next to a bias wheel. It’s not unheard of, and this place doesn’t exactly look like the finest gambling establishment.
But the person who said that hitting 8 zero’s in a row is just as likely as any other combination is 100% correct.

Oh, yeah, but considering all the other stuff Shin Lim does, that one little twist at the end with Howie's cup is nothing. If that was his MAIN effect, he would be a lot less impressive.
I'd say if you don't want to use shaving cream or after-shave, I would use a good conditioner as a substitute. Be sure to wash your face beforehand.

So instead of enjoying a move you can fanthom, you decide the entire contest is a fraud, with the judges aiding one contestant. Do you think the other contestants are also in on it or did the judges conspire with only one of them to defraud the public?

I used to really enjoy the Magic dinner theatre at Cesars. Had alot of close up sleght of hand magic. Not sure why I they got rid of it. Probably too much of a value....lol
