Mine was a zx spectrum: The first item I ever bought over the phone by credit card. It so stressed me out spending £150 so frivolously, that I snapped the card in half while ordering. It had just dropped in price by 50%. I still have it in the loft, much modified. I reprogrammed the EPROM to fix the 65536 bug and built my own parallel port and some peripherals for it... Such as the eprom writer that I reprogrammed it with. Also found composite video out and plumbed it into a green screen monitor borrowed from work..Quote: Wizard
However, my father wouldn't spend the money on one and I had to settle for a Sinclair ZX81. Don't get me started with a rant about that PoS. However, for the $100 cost, you can't complain too much.
My bothers started to play games on the Apple II at friends houses and between the three of us, we wore my father down and he got one. I could program on it for hours, making simple programs to find prime numbers and such.

Personally, I learned to program on an Apple II.

The Apple][ was the first computer that I bought. I think I paid $2200 in 1984. I started programming on a mainframe but when I got the Apple it changed everything for me. Access to a computer 24 hours a day was enlightening. I am pretty sure that is when I officially became a nerd.

But what?
I'm a pretty laid back guy
I'm not gonna bet or charge 10k to prove my adventures are real
Thats absurd. I have no interest in taking 10k off a member
Maybe the Wiz can confirm my authenticity
We are friends on FB and he has access to all my adventures that I post on FB
I just post a smidgen here
Again I'm pretty laid back guy and pretty agreeable to any ideas proving my adventures are factual and that I personally took all pics I post.

Thats weird
I got it for Christmas when it 1st came out. It came with controllers with knobs. All the neighborhood kids were checking it out. Mine was the only one in the neighborhood. Maybe mine was a later version after a price drop. My parents were pretty cheap. Generally got clothes for Christmas. This was a rare Christmas where I got what I wanted.

Okay, that was cut #999 of a death by 1,000 cuts. Please dispense with the references to mdawg and worry about your own side of the street. The alternative will be interpreted as trolling.
Retired comfortably so I don't really gamble anymore. Money is now used for a comfortable retirement
This is really the only gambling I do these days. Just taking a short shot at a royal satisfies my small gambling itch. No way I would play something like Bac. Losers game
Made the drive out to Biloxi. I use my MGM Mastercard for everything and pay off the bill completely every month. Earned 325 dollars in freeplay for 8 months of using the credit card. I run all 325 freeplay dollars through a video poker machine to hopefully hit a Royal flush jackpot of over 1400. Did not hit the royal but did get a 4 of a kind. In the end I got a little lucky and cashed out 350 real dollars. I hit the buffet to pig out after playing. Pretty nice walking out of a casino with 350 dollars. No way I want to gamble real dollars :-)

Last time in a casino I walked out with $500! (I walked in with $700…).
One suggestion….. stop referring to bac as a ‘losers game’. Unless you are willing to call virtually every casino game as a ‘losers game’. I play Pai Gow poker and tiles because I like the occasional complexity. I’m sure there are those that play bac because they like the simplicity. I know the house has the edge on me. But the phrase ‘losers game’ the way you use it is just rude.
Anyway, I’m glad you are happy with the $$$ you get back from your credit card, but there are MUCH better card rebates available. There’s already a thread about it here.

Was supposed to leave Mar 21, start of Spring
I'm a hard-core deadhead, saw Jerry over a 100 times back in the day
Dead and Co just announced a residency at the Sphere
I scored tickets to the first 3 nights of the residency, May 16,17,18
Extending my stay in Vegas till May 21 when I explore Utah national parks. The perfect antidote to Vegas :-)

Humor me…. Tix priced at $600 each? More?
Bryce for the initial ‘wow’ when you see it first time.
Zion for hikes, generally great ‘outdoor’ feeling.
If you have a few extra $$ look into llama guided overnight tours of Grand Escalante.
Stop in Mesquite if you want to satisfy your low stakes gambling itch. And if you still golf you can chase a little white ball there…

290 a tix through ticketmaster Artist presale
It wasnt easy. Me and a buddy tag teamed ticketmaster and we couldn't believe we scored.
I really miss the old days of Grateful Dead Ticket Sales mail order system
100's section for the sphere
Close view of the band, obstructed view of the sphere
Its an amazing place
Got a free tix to see Postcards from Earth.from sec 400's which is perfect. Rumble seats with wind blowing through my hair
amazing venue
Ive done Bryce (amazing views overseeing the canyon) and Zion (disappointing view of huge walls at the bottom)
Really looking forward to getting on the road.
Ultimate goal this year, Mackinac bridge
Gave away my clubs to goodwill after my golf buddy passed away
Dont really gamble much anymore. The games are too simplistic. Much rather spend time playing Tears of the Kingdom :-)
Do dabble in holdem tournaments. Played at the Sahara and South Point

I also hear that Strataca, an active salt mine near there, does tours as well. I haven't been there so read reviews and use your best judgment. I do want to go but just haven't had the time.
Quote: AitchTheLetterWhen you swing through Kansas, the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson, Kansas is worth the trip. Has the largest combined collection of US and Russian space artifacts in the world and the second largest of either of those after the governments of the respective country. I enjoyed it last time I was there. I need to go back because it has been a while.

Water, electricity and sewer.
I'm retired, worked hard my whole life
I want all the comforts of home on the road
I mostly lean to areas with lots of tourist attractions leaning towards museums and history
Ive stayed at a lot of places people rarely visit

One of the most fascinating places Ive visited is Slab city and its suburbs, East Jesus and Salvation MT.
