Actually black cats are not black, they're dark dark brown. If you turn a powerful flashlight on their hair, you'll see that they're actually brown.

I have five step ladders in my house because cats love to climb on step ladders. They like to sit on the very top and look down on the rest of us.

Talk about disaster waiting to happen. The slightest wrong move and that cat is going to cling to your face with its claws to keep from falling

It’s all about the kitties.

Kittens can be far worse than adult cats with their claws because they haven't learned how to control them. They will call the crap out of you without meaning to. And you should never have a cat declawed, ever. It's harmful for them, I've done the research.

Yep. My sister does cat rescue, she will sometimes have a dozen cats in her home. She says declawed cats are heartbreaking to see. Myself, I’m not a cat person. But I’m not a cat hater, either. I’m indifferent to them. A good cat is pretty cool, all the other cats are neither here nor there for me.
I used to be a dog person, but we tried fostering a rescue this summer, and it was too much work. He was a cool dog, but I don’t want a companion animal. I’m perfectly fine without that responsibility. (It didn’t help that Debow was a poorly socialized pit bull.)
I’m pretty sure the Cat Hat is a joke ad.

I agree 1000%!

Lady walking on a Manhattan street years ago carrying her cat. Dog on a leash spooks the cat and it jumps on to her head, where it digs in and shreds her scalp as she screams in pain trying to make it let go. NYU emergency room doctor used 25 staples to close the wounds.

Keep up the good work, EvenBob... I have been enjoying this thread.

I stay away from them because they tend to be sickly a lot of times, there's a list of things as long as your arm that they can get. I prefer mixed breed cats, they tend to be hardier and get sick far less often.

I have nothing against Siamese cats, but the few people I've known that have them have high veterinarian bills because they get sick all the time. They tend to be high strung, have sensitive stomachs, and prone to certain chronic ailments.

Yes. You can say that about any pure-breed cat or dog. Probably any animal. I loved my Siamese, but he was rather sickly and died around the age of 12.

I think they are just like any other cat, they are affectionate and make nice pets. But just like a purebred dog, they can be sick a lot which can cost a lot of money and a lot of pain for the owner. Age 12 isn't bad, I think Siamese live about 12 to 15 years just like most cats if they're indoors all the time. Cats that go in and out have a much shorter lifespan. And cats are not like dogs, dogs need to go outside. A cat is perfectly happy if he never goes outside, he doesn't care. Cats love and feel comfortable in places that they know, they feel safe from predators. That's why cats made such good indoor pets, they aren't always bugging you to go outside like dogs are.

One of the cats I objected to living with.
While he ostensibly has a name, everyone just seems to call him The Chonk.
He's spent a bit of the morning chasing reflections, but is now trying to climb into aquariums. (I don't know his exact reasoning, but I assume it's snack related.)
If you've ever known a cat to claw up the furniture (despite having scratching posts literally inches away), or to gracefully hop onto a nightstand ("nothing but net!") so that they could start pushing fragile objects off to hear them clatter onto the hard floor below, he is one of those.
Very snuggly, but only when it suits him.
Often found complaining about being on the wrong side of a door.

Cats for the most part are idiots that's why we love them because they entertain us with their dopiness.
Quote: MrVMe, I don't "love" cats, but I can see how some might, especially those who use them daily to make a living.

Good heavens - a D11??
Don't those beasts burn about a gallon of fuel a minute?
