In my house I have two chest freezers in the basement and a stand up freezer upstairs so I have every kind of meat that you can just about imagine. I can read a recipe for something and I almost always have all the ingredients on hand. Right now I'm making a greek yogurt white sauce with two kinds of cheese and of course I had all the ingredients.

Here it is not advisable to keep that much food because power goes out during storms.

And that's why I have a big generator on the front porch and 15 gallons of gas. For freezers they don't need to be on the juice the whole time the power is out. Just run them until the green light goes out on the freezer and you can unplug it for 10 or 12 hours at least and nothing will thaw. I also have a portable generator that does AC and DC and it runs small things like light bulbs and I can charge my electronic devices on it. The longer you live the more you turn into the old man who has everything under control. And you learn that the hard way.

Has nobody put a freezer on a UPS?
Freezers are pretty low power, intermittent draw.
UPS units are stupid affordable these days.

Our last big outage was 13 straight days and gasoline and propane were sold out everywhere. Even the grocery stores .lost most of their frozen foods because nobody was prepared for that long of an outage. Granted that isn't common but being out for a few days straight is not unusual
I bought a $500 Jackery, and we have not had a blackout since. I have taken it camping twice, and it's an amazing product.

I'm unfamiliar with that brand, but I'll mash a similar bag of those and use it as a base for my meat sauce. After they are cooked, you roll them roughly, and they break apart

Why do you hate your dogs so much. Read the ingredients those things are full of garlic and onion two things that are deadly to dogs. Just because they don't drop dead in front of you after they eat them doesn't mean it's not killing them.

Joey Chestnut defeated his rival and set a new world record by eating 83 hot dogs in 10 minutes
Congratulations Joey - you're the Champ - but it's really, really disgusting
it's quite amazing to me that a person could eat like that and not get sick - although maybe that part of the story is not told
.
.

I've now tried 17 different Cook Unity meals, and I have chosen eight to be in my rotation. Cook Unity is worth it, with my only complaint being that the serving sizes vary from chef to chef.
I didn't have time to cook it so I just stuck it in the microwave and kept zapping it till it got pretty warm, and added this as a side dish to some sausages I was eating. Cooked it as is, a half of one not cut up anymore than that
this worked really well, now even if I have time to steam it or grill it like usual I might just microwave it anyway
I can eat cauliflower raw too, so I'd guess if you don't like that you might not like nuking it
They were out of caramelised onions and substituted crispy fried onions, which made the pickles wrong.
New medication adjustment means I've got almost no appetite, so the 6 year old can probably eat more than I can now.

Why don't you ever post pictures of this wonderful fantastic Gourmet cuisine that you eat everyday from this Fly by Night company. I'll tell you why, it's because the portions are tiny and it would be embarrassing to take pictures of them. If you read the complaints about this company people constantly say the portions are too small for the money you're paying. $11 to $13 for a small portion of food is criminal. For $13 I could feed myself twice a day for 2 days by cooking everything myself. I also read Cook Unity is full of salt fat and carbs and you will gain weight eating it.
And there's nothing wrong with bagged meatballs; I have a few in a bowl, with tomato sauce and Provolone (think of it as a "Keto meatball sub"), pretty much once a week. Note that I use the larger ones (that come about 20 to a bag), not the smaller ones in the photo.

Last week, you ranted about the company's non-existent long-term commitments; this week, you complained about small portions. Why does it bother you so much that someone might be enjoying something? The older I get, the better I recall things that never happened

The whole concept irritates the crap out of me. And still no reason why you don't post pictures. I read one complaint of a guy who said because of the expense he assumed he could split one meal and make two meals out of it. He was really disappointed when he found out there was barely enough for one meal let alone two.

You also said that you read about how they switched ingredients once you committed to a long-term contract, which they don't even offer, so you can understand why I don't believe anything you have to say about this.
Some chef's servings are smaller than others, but none are tiny. They certainly aren't meals for two; there is no reason to think they are. If the price point is too much for you, that is okay. But why make stuff up?
I don't take pictures of my meals because I'm not egotistical enough to think anyone cares what they look like
before or after I eat them. I'd imagine the same sites with all the complaints you supposedly read have pictures, as does the Cook Unity website.

LOL! I've seen pictures of the food you're getting and they are ridiculously small portions. Like a child's meal in a restaurant. That's why you don't want to take pictures of them, everybody knows it. They have to make a profit, they have to pay people to make this stuff, they have to pay for ingredients, they have to pay for shipping. So they're going to give you the smallest portion of crappy ingredients possible. Duh duh and duh.

they tried to fool everybody with this comment:
"Overall, I found the quality of CookUnity meals extremely high and the ordering platform easy to use. It's one of the tastiest subscriptions I've tried and earns a place on this editor's list of best meal delivery services for 2023."

An oxymoron post here. Tiny portions equal gaining weight?
Also, EB insinuates that billryan is a food moron i.e., high cost, no value, food is awful and just "crap," and BR is clueless as to what good food actually is. What incredible insight.

And STILL no pictures. It's a monetary ripoff, small portions, and it's all fat salt and carb. People will think it's good because fat salt and carb is all they know. Whenever people say it's 'seasoned' properly what they mean is it has enough salt on it because that's the only seasoning they know.

The ignorance in these posts is ridiculous. Cook Unity has meals for almost any diet: keto, low salt, and low calories.
The nutritional information for each meal is on the website. There are some high-calorie meals and some that are loaded with salt for the people who like that. I've passed on a few meals that looked good but had too much of something.
My lunch today will be a sirlion burger with feta, blue cheese, and seasoned potato wedges with a savory sauce. This will be my first time trying this particular meal.
It's hard to debate someone who seemingly pulls his posts out of his posterior.
I'm still waiting on his source of ingredient switching and long-term contracts.

That is a three-year-old review from when they were starting out in NY. The review Bob took the photo from raves about the food, especially how delicious it is and the quality of the ingredients. Rather than post any of that, he shows what appears to be a half-eaten meal.
Most of my meals were normal portions you'd get in a restaurant. A bowl of salad and a buttered roll, along with the entree is a good dinner for me, and anyone who knows me knows I have a hearty appetite. At full price, they are $13 an entree. Perhaps that is too steep for some of our members. I know it is less than i'd pay for takeout or eating out, and no tipping involved.

Virtually no difference it's all processed food. Just don't give the pizza rolls to your dog because they contain onion and garlic which is deadly to them.
