The service I use, Goldbelly, charges $119 for six Roberta's pies and they are all vegetarian
Goldbelly is generally expensive, but you can sometimes get a few bargains when stuff is on sale. A month or so back, I got 24 empanadas for $60 shipped, while they are $3.99 each in the store in Brooklyn. These days, two of them is a meal for me.

I see people who move away from NJ ordering White House subs from Atlantic City on good belly all the time. It’s like $120 for a sandwich.
I don’t even think they are very good. Sacco Subs a few minutes down the street in Ventnor is way better.

Some of their stuff is very expensive. I guess the restaurants set the prices, and some are ridiculous. some of the pizzas are $25-40 each. I check them out every few weeks and bargain hunt. If you live near good food, it isn't worth it. I have to drive 50 miles roundtrip before I find a decent pizza place so $10 a pop for frozen ones isn't bad.
As far as WH subs go, I'll just say I don't get the attraction.

Never made it before, I'll sure make it again.
Chicken broth, heavy cream, broccoli, cheddar,
muenster and parmasan cheese. It was almost
oh/my/dear/god good. The sandwich was
3 slices of zero carb five seed bread, 3 kinds
of lunch meat and 3 kinds of cheese.

Looks yummy. I bought some jumbo raw shrimp. Peeled em. Fried in olive oil. Wife made fettuccini Alfredo. Teamwork! It was quite tasty.
I don’t think I’d use more than one kind of cheese if I made that sandwich. For some reason I can have an unlimited number of different lunch meats, but usually only one kind of cheese.
I have not yet got the bread right and the sauce evades me, but I made a decent enough version of it today. Air-fryed some frozen seasoned french fries and it made for a simple meal.

I used provolone, mozzerella and swiss
cheese. They go really well together.

excellent - this joint hit it right
I threw the veggies in the trash except for the tomato
I thought about asking them if I could trade the veggies for some more rice but I didn't want to look cheap

some thoughts on the beverage industry:
******Starbucks********
the most overrated business in the history of the world
their "signature" is that their coffee has a slightly bitter taste
here is the secret of how they got their coffee to have that bitter taste:
they don't clean well the large plastic decanters that they store it in and dole it out in
it's a potent mix of old stale coffee on the bottom on top of dirty plastic
fairly new Asian drink that has become very popular:
bubble tea
I tried it
it immediately went right to the top of my personal suckmeter - 1 to 10 meaning 10 sucks the most...................it's a 10

I think that is the first time I’ve ever heard that referred to as bubble tea instead of boba tea, had to look it up. Apparently that’s an east coast phrasing. They’ve been popular a while there’s lots of small stores out west where their menu consists of almost strictly boba tea.
celery, turnips, chicken, baby spinach,
chicken broth, whole stick of butter,
whole package of cream cheese. Hit
it with the immersion blender till
smooth. Cheese and bacon on top.
Made a big pot, 3 days worth.
Name?Quote: DRichI got a little crazy today since all I had was two strips of bacon yesterday. I tried a new Chinese restaurant for their $6.50 lunch special. I got the Orange Chicken with fried rice, and egg drop soup. The lunch was huge and will feed me for two days. I look forward to trying other items here and if they are this big I will become a regular.

The semi burnt grilled cheese looks like a 9.9 out of 10. I’d add well done bacon to make it a 10 out of 10. Perhaps garlic croutons for the soup?
I had veal piccata tonight. Restaurant. Pretty good. But Bob’s looks better!

I agree, a little char on it is perfect.

Not burnt at all. I use mayo on
the bread instead of butter. It
has a higher smoke point and
tastes better than butter. I have
to cook it longer to melt all that
cheese.

Until last year I was unaware of the mayo trick! I've used butter my entire life, then wife made a 4 cheese grilled cheese with mayo instead of butter. I guess when I say 'burnt' I mean exactly like you make it, and I only mean it as a compliment! Still could use some bacon...!
I marinate the chicken in Italian dressing overnight. It always comes out fantastic.
I've always loved burgers
I've experimented with the best way to cook them
not including outdoor cooking on a charcoal grill
my conclusion is:
the best way to cook them is to broil them
they come out juicier - not sure why

I just had a burger, like I do for lunch pretty much every other Sunday, and almost always the same way - on my George Foreman grill. The raw beef is starting to stick to the grill, so it may be about time for a new one. Tonight, a top sirloin steak, under the broiler.
I had Burger King for dinner. I don't know if this is a national promotion, but this BK had an interesting deal. For $5, you get a whopper, small fries, and a small soda, but for a dollar more, you get a double whopper, large fries, and a large soda.

Quote: billryanOn occasion, I will broil a burger and sear it for about 30 seconds on both sides on a pre-heated skillet.

That is a good value for an extra $1. An extra 4oz of beef, extra fries and extra soda. The fries and soda are a minimal cost to BK but an extra 4oz of beef has some cost.

The only proper way to eat a bagel is plain. Do not schmear or put anything on it.

You’ve just earned a suspension for trolling. Garlic or everything bagel. Whitefish salad. Onion. Pricey.... but worth it!

A good bagel needs absolutely nothing on it. Just like a hamburger, leave it plain the way it was designed.
There was a place by my house that used to have coffee bagels. They were terrific. I think they put instant coffee in the dough and since it was inside it still counted as not putting anything additional on the bagel.

I wanted a sweet treat in the afternoon
was getting tired of my hot chocolate
so I made my hot chocolate with coffemate creamer
but I added peanut butter
then I put it in the freezer for half an hour
took it out and loaded it with ice
a peanut butter and chocolate cold drink - it rocked

I made 1 lb sausage patty today and ate about half of it. The dogs enjoyed the rest.
A slice of sourdough bread, a slice of swiss, a slice of kraft America, a few pieces of pepperoni, topped with mozzarella, with parmesan cheese sprinkled both inside the sandwich and on the slice of rye, grilled in olive oil.
For some reason, the sourdough slice would not brown properly so the results were mixed. It tasted okay, but not enough to repeat the effort.
Lo mein made using bucatini pasta. This stuff is freaking awesome. Have made both beef and shrimp lo mein with it
The hole in the middle of the pasta pulls extra flavor into the pasta. Will never use normal lo mein noodles again
