No not including the .2 cause apparently you have to sign out at the end with your kid and there will be some congestion. Then you head down the award area. Kids get metals. Purpose of this is they run 1 mile a week after school for 25 weeks. Then tomorrow the run the last mile of the Pittsburgh marathon course to conclude their 26 miles.
I think the FrGambler must have slacked off on his prayers for me because. I had an all you can eat breakfast buffet today. Sure glad I did not lug my scale along on this trip.

It is definitely better but not very far off.
but I have to admit that their offerings are a lot better than the lower price chain groceries stores around here that are basically similar to Safeway
their salad bar is way better - their hot food bar is way better - their bakery offerings are way better
just have to dig a little deeper into the pocket - but I think it's worth it
As for today, MoW showed up with some sort of sweet potato strata with beets and potaoes and some cranberry sugar water. Also brought a loaf of bread so chopped a wilted celery stalk into some mayonnaise and tuna and had two sandwiches for lunch.
I admire your will power.Quote: DRichI probably won't eat at all today as I am still stuffed from last night.
Quote: FleaStiffI admire your will power.
It is not will power when you aren't hungry.
Back on the keto wagon for me. I'm gonna really do battle with this final boss of stubborn belly and chest flab. I look fairly good standing up straight but pretty gross Laying on my side or what have you
Whatever beef they are slicing off at the buffet, some chicken a bunch of veggies and a slice of honeydew.
Maybe a 48 hour fast after this.
Got small red beans soaking though it took me forever to figure out the math in the directions printed on the bag. I will boil them tomorrow while waiting for MoW to arrive
I bought a $1.00 box of New Orleans dirty rice at Aldi - and cooked it up in my rice cooker - very easy
then at the hot food bar I got just their marinated cuts of steak - about a third of a lb. - enough for me for my dinner - cost just $3.00 - that is by far the most expensive item on their food bar if it was bought outside of the bar
so I had a restaurant quality steak dinner that cost just $4.00 - Whole Foods did 90% of the work - damn - I'm pretty sharp on my better days..... ......... 😃
I edited that for you.Quote: GWAEUggggggggggg.... so at spring fling and my 4 days in Vegas I didnt have a single poop. Only had 1 or 2 in the last few weeks. I think that I have beaten my addiction. I really dont crave it at all.
Quote: AxelWolfI edited that for you.
lmao I was like wtf did I really say that cause it could be true. I don't like using away bathrooms and NEVER a public one
Later today: beans.
Quote: GWAEHOWEVER... I am now completely addicted to McDonald's vanilla iced coffee. It is so damn good
I agree but I switched to 7-11
it's self serve cold brewed coffee and costs less than Mickey Dees unless they have a promo
I get the cold brewed Mocha and then put vanilla creamer and splenda into it - it rocks
I like that you fix it yourself instead of having Mickey Dee put the ratio of vanilla into it
Line from season five of Harry Bosch: "Suboxone? I might as well snort a Splenda."Quote: lilredroosterI get the cold brewed Mocha and then put vanilla creamer and splenda into it - it rocks.
I'd ditch the Creamer and Splenda.
Now I can't get enough of it. No Indian restaurant all that close here. I'm reduced to buying packets I can microwave that I get at the store. It comes in two 'heats', not hot at all, and fiery hot. My current fave is a "channa masala" that is too mild actually, but that's easily fixed with hot sauce.
As to my culinary adventures today, Lentil Mush with carrots. Again.
MoW today was sausage with rice and red peppers, green peppers and onions; beans in sugar sauce and a slice of pound cake! What a treat! Beats Lentil Mush for sure! What doesn't?
awsomely radical - totally

Remember those pamphlets Where To Go in New York, London, Paris?? They were guidebooks to ultra clean rest rooms. The unmarked door in Lord and Taylor's that lead to a Ladies Room, The "Storage Room" door in a Greenwich Village apothecary, the "Dental Laboratory" in a mid-town hotel. Best of all was the Upper West Side health food store run by the now-deceased Wolfman. Always liked that guy even though he not only insulted me when I first entered his store but had the gall to do it in front of two girls from nearby Columbia.
Quote: odiousgambitEating Indian food again today for lunch. I went most of my adult life, decades, eating Indian food occasionally, sure, but uncertain as to why it was popular with some, except that the price was usually 'right'. Then I went on a cruise that had a good Indian chef in the buffet, which had curries and such put out all the time.

I am with you on the Indian food. My wife made a large pot of Butter Chicken yesterday and I brought leftovers for lunch.
What are some of your strange eating habits?
My Dad used to fry bologna, add tuna fish, and make these roll up thingies. I thought it was as bad as it sounds but he liked them. Twenty five years of C-Rations will do that.
Not I.Quote: AxelWolfI was thinking the other day how some people have some strange eating habits or they eat some strange combinations.
Quote: AxelWolfI was thinking the other day how some people have some strange eating habits or they eat some strange combinations. Like adding ketchup to their peanut butter or something like gross like that. Or they only eat at certain times of the day, certain brands etc.
What are some of your strange eating habits?
I used to eat mayonnaise sandwiches, just bread and mayo nothing else.Since I'm on a low carb diet now I quit them .Mostly it was being too lazy to cook.

*drives up to McDonalds drive-thru*
*climbs 75% out of window*
*starts yelling at top of lungs* "HEY, WHAT KIND OF LETTUCE DO YOU USE ON YOUR CHEESEBURGERS?!"
McDonalds person: "It's shredded lettuce"
"BUT WHAT KIND?! ROMAINE? LEAF LETTUCE? ICEBERG? KALE? ARRUGULA? BUTTERHEAD? WHAT KIND?"
"I don't know it's just lettuce."
*whispers to others in car* "Wow, I can't believe they don't know what kind of lettuce they have"
"So do you want a cheeseburger?"
"ARE THE ONIONS CHOPPED OR DICED OR MINCED OR SLICED???"
"Uhh..."
"WHAT KIND OF MUSTARD DO YOU USE? WHAT ABOUT TOMATOES? KETCHUP? WHAT KIND OF CHEESE?"
"Uhh, just regular mustard and tomatoes and ketchup. I'm not sure about the cheese, maybe cheddar or american?"
"WHAT!? IS IT MUNSTER, JACK, CHEDDAR, AMERICAN, PROVOLONE, <lists off 50 different types of cheese>"
*whispers to others in car* "I could totally make a better cheeseburger at home. <Explains in detail how to make a cheeseburger at home, while we're supposed to be ordering at this mcdonalds drive-thru at 3am>."
....
"So, do you want a cheeseburger, or...?"
"DO YOU HAVE BAKED APPLE PIES?"
I would say the above falls under "strange eating habits".
It's not as bad now but I'd still say restaurants should have a separate section for the grossies. Like people who put ranch on stuff.
Separate country maybe.
I don't know if it's weird, but oranges with honey and cinnamon on them are super good.
Breaking a 3 day fast at Sam's town. I like the steak house here.
Going light with the Atlantic salmon. It comes on a bed of mushrooms and is really well seasoned. $23. Would be $45 on the strip.
Loot from the buffet? Yet left behind?

Checked your cholesterol lately?
Indian food is swimming in ghee. Clarified butter. 65% saturated fat.
They also use a lot of condensed milk, which is rich in saturated fat. 17g per cup.
"The few studies that looked at CAD risks in Asian Indians (people from India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan) found an alarming rate of 3 times higher than the national average." NCBI

Many herbs have markedly enhanced effects if co-administered with ghee.

Everybody dies. Sadly, many of them not really learned to live.

Some of the newer studies in fact do say not to worry about *what* you eat

Brown sugar and butter sandwiches on white. Childhood fav from mom.
Creamed pickled kippers or halibut right out of the jar. Yuck. Mom.
Cream of mushroom soup spread on bread, slice of cheese, bacon strips scattered on top. Broil until cheese browns. Ridiculously tasty. Dad special.
Fried liver and onions in butter. Yuck. Dad. Also liverwurst sandwiches.
Oysters baked in butter and milk casserole with cracker crumbs on top. Husband.
Mashed potato salad. MIL.
Steak and kidney pie. Grandmother.
Haggis. Nuff said. Scottish uncle.
Roast moose. Other uncle. Not good. But only had it the one time - maybe there's a way to cook it tasty.
Doh!Quote: GWAEOk I am out. Failed attempt number 28 to eat better. Once dear I forfeit to you. I need someone to cook for me. I like eating healthy and I want to, I just dont want to shop for it or prepare it. Today is Wednesday and since Sunday I have worked 52 hours and still have 3 days to go. Yep just another excuse
Don't call it failure: Call it another practice run. Better luck on attempt 29.
You should have joined me on the Ration challenge: Living on a war-zone refugee ration pack for a week. I lost over 5 lb since Sunday. (I'm on day 4 of 7)

Maybe if you'd kept with the updates, I could have encouraged you more.
Seriously.... Can't you actually, or virtually 'get someone to cook for you'? I don't know your personal circumstances, but is there a way?
Rotisserie chicken from the grocery store.
There is a bunch of reasonably priced pre-made food at Whole foods.
Most grocery stores and some cheap restaurants have really solid salad bars and soup. Gotta be careful with the soup. You can throw a couple crumbled up eggs in the salad to make it hearty and extra healthy.
Get a nice hunk of cheese (I like parmesan). Some salami, or what have you. Pickles and/or olives. That makes several tasty meals. not optimally healthy to eat processed meat, but certainly far better than SAD. Pickles and olives are great for you. Cheese is so-so, but aged cheese is good for the ole' testosterone at least.
If possible, get the wife to make you stuff once in a while. You're practically working 2 jobs, I think it's fair to ask, though obviously, it's none of my biz.
Look for some good take out in your area. Fish grill. El Pollo loco. A cheap chinese place that has things like Kung Pao chicken and beef with broccoli.
You guys have Capriottis? It's a sub place but they have excellent, meaty salads.
My invention: keto nachos. Dump out a burrito from a real Mexican (asada, chicken, carnitas) place on some pork rinds.

You looking to adopt?
Ask for the Diabetic program as it is the same cost but offers much better alternatives.
If you skip ordering every other month, you end up paying $145 a month for half of your meals. You get 14 breakfasts, 14 lunches, 14 dinners and 28 snacks. Delivered to your door, and ready to pop in the microwave.
Isn't it worth $150 a month to eliminate half your problem?
Quote: billryanNutisystem is running a 50% off sale right now that will be good as long as you keep with the program.

Nutrasystem has been around for a while.
What had to be 10+ years ago I ended up eating a bunch of Nutrasystem. My sister bought like 6 months worth of food and hardly ate any of it.
I am not paranoid about preservatives on food, but the fact that none of it needs refrigeration freaks me out a little bit. Everything from Nutrasystem was pretty good, I don’t remember anything being completely inedible, but I think eating what is similar MRE/Survival food every single day would get pretty challenging.
i'm living on Meals On Wheels which is extremely tasty stuff but the power company undermined the effects of all those Lentil Mush meals and rubbery egg meals.
