Clearly, you don't know me. I would rather have all my limbs amputated than eat a single healthy vegetable.
MoW served me chicken w/ rice and beans, sweet potatoes, warmed cheese pastry. I had already had Meusli.
Its the post prandial somnolism ant frank lethargy that is killing me. I seem not to respond to xanthines anymore so i'm immune to caffeine.

Clearly our bodies evolved eating only
highly processed food and mega fats.
Good for you for going with your genes.
Tonight I had roasted eggplant with
parm cheese, and roasted radishes
and Brussells sprouts and cauliflower
in olive oil. Wait until the bottoms are
dark brown, hugely flavorful and
satisfying. I now have to deal with
all the guilt of no processed food
and saturated that my body is really
demanding.
Today will be more of the same, except going to a seafood buffet so I am going to crush the crab legs and mussels.
Small Red Beans on simmer for next hour and a half. Will add garlic, cumin, onion and cinnamon. Tomatoes??
Meals on Wheels sometime between 9:00am and noon, but don't now what it will be.
So [insert guilt trip] The new diet regime starts when you get back from your vacation? $:o)Quote: GWAEyesterday I had fish and chips (the fish was grouper) , about half a bag of potato chips with dip, and a whole lot of beer.

C'mon fella. Diets don't take vacations, especially before they start.
for 2 1/2 years, I'll never eat carbs again.

Instead of that approach, start focusing on whether you're increasing your intake of healthy foods. If your weekly intake of healthy foods increases, you should get some natural displacement. OR, you eventually just eat 3 or 4 times as much and simply explode one day. Problem solved either way.

I went to a wedding on Monday that was amazing. Food was catered from Four Seasons and had an open bar. I really enjoyed the short ribs wrapped in bacon.
You are doing better than I am. I've had nothing to drink except several cups of Parsley tea.

Nonsense. I can just imagine someone trying to tell a SEAL what to eat while they are off duty.
Just noticed this was post 7111, maybe that's what it was waiting for ;). I love feta so much, I'd marry it if I could find 165 pounds of it. ;)
Quote: AxelWolfI ordered 10 apple pies from Popeyes. I just had two, and well, im starting not to feel so well. But it was worth it.
Is that a 4th of July patriotic themed meal ?
Tomorrow night I'll probably have (if I can find one) a Carl's Jr. 6-dollar guacamole burger with the lettuce wrap. Probably get 2 of them because they are so stronk.
Lol, I was in the bathroom and Someone Who Isn't Me had probably the nastiest fart/poop/diarrhea combo I could ever hear. It sounded like someone was pouring a bag of marbles into the toilet while simultaneously farting through a megaphone. Someone else in the bathroom said "bless you" after that mega explosion.
Then, despite it being a holiday, MoW not only arrived but arrived early so I had some sort of patty on a bun but stayed away from those ketchup and mustard packets since they are mainly sugar.
Now I am slurping parsley tea.

I'm not so sure that's beef. Heard something about recently departed Amazon warehouse workers.

well, if it was a human, wouldn't that be beef? ................. I mean it wouldn't be chicken or pork or fish.

I don't know if it's the same on your side of the pond, but here in the UK, most Indian Restaurants serve what they describe as "Meat curry". Deliberately indeterminate.Quote: FleaStiffI think the code word for that sort of thing is "lamb" for Lamb Armistan by Stanley Ellin.
Reminds me of my old friend, a black dude, somebody would get him going with a story about how cat heads had been discovered in a dumpster behind a chinese restaurant or somesuch. He would say "that's why I never order anything on the menu with a name like "Mongolian Beef" or whatever"Quote: OnceDearI don't know if it's the same on your side of the pond, but here in the UK, most Indian Restaurants serve what they describe as "Meat curry". As I understand your side of the pond, the term 'Indian' really means Pakistani so I would expect lamb or goat, but certainly think it should be plainly stated.Quote: OnceDear, but here in the UK, most Indian Restaurants serve what they describe as "Meat curry". Deliberately indeterminate.

The cannibal word for eating human flesh translates to "long pig". Apparently cooking human meat smells most like pork.

Well thank you for THIS bit of useful information, Babs. :-)
very fresh and attractive veggies, solid proteins, delicious dips and dressings and lots of choices including innovative fruit drinks
about $9.50 for their main entree but it's very big and I can get 2 meals out of it
currently on the east coast, Texas and southern CA
Our Indian and Pakistani restaurants, would generally just be referred to as 'Indian' and I understand that the majority are Pakistani owned, so they don't serve pork because of Muslim religious restrictions. Most serve Beef as steaks but the curries are mostly lamb or chicken.Quote: FleaStiffAs I understand your side of the pond, the term 'Indian' really means Pakistani so I would expect lamb or goat, but certainly think it should be plainly stated.
Labelling and national identity of the proprietors is not so clear. In truth, the 'Indian food' they serve is nothing like food consumed in India or by Indians or Pakistanis.
Goat is not so common here and the only times I've knowingly had goat curry was from a Jamaican take-away.
I had Horse in casseroles a few times in Spain, when it wasn't labelled as horse.
Also few years ago there was national outrage here, because many shop bought beef products had lots of illegally added horse meat. Frozen and canned ready meals were tainted.

Today all I've had is peanut butter, the main adulterant there seems to be glue.
MoW arrives soon though.
(I don't know what it was, but it tasted great, was delivered by a volunteer ith four sweet, lovely daughters who all wished me a nice day,,, and, as usual, my post prandial somnolence took two and a half hours out of my day,)
Woke up after the meal. Assembled a laundry, took a bag of garbage to the dumpster despite a few raindrops and thunder rumblings, re-heated parsley tea, sliced a summer sqash and zapped it in the microwave because I don't really know how one cooks squash.
now since I put the old bed sheets in the laundry bag, I guess I have to go make bed.
Been doing great. I am not allowing myself to drink any calories EXCEPT for my morning coffee with 2 tablespoons of vanilla creamer and I dont drink coffee on the weekends. Since Sunday I have only had 210 calories in drinks (from the creamer). I did have a diet cherry pepsi last night with dinner but no calories. I know artificial sweetener is bad but certainly it has got to be better than have 250 calories in a pepsi.
I have been doing last snack at 8pm and no food until 12am. I do have the calories for my coffee so not sure if that screws up the intermittent fasting. It works ok for me except for a day like today when I went to bed at 11 and was up at 530am. By 11 my stomach felt like it was eating itself. I drank 4 bottles of water which helped a little but I just ate lunch and I am still feeling a little. I had a decent size bowl of grilled chicken with sauteed peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Forgot to bring cheese with me or I would have added cheese too.

I generally just eat once per day. If I go out for beers after work I tend to forget to eat dinner. Unlike most people, when I drink I don't like to eat.

Lol good catch. Yes I meant 12pm.
Going to prepare dinner now. I am going to stick to the simple basics this week. Doing grilled chicken, broccoli, and some sort of side. I might forgo the side and do a salad.

Diet aside, have you change the lifestyle?
I've changed not one single thing except turning almost completely sedentary, and 6 months later I'm fat as s@#$. Shake a can of Krylon and my whole front shakes along with it. It's bleeding ridiculous.
I haven't worked out since Nov of '98, but I stay active always. Crick walks, gardening, simple s#$% like that. That simple s#$%, for me, is the difference between being fit and being floppy. Add some action, see what happens.

Cool. Yeah, that cream is probably costing you. Is there sugar in it?
You should drink coffee black anyway. Be a man. Sit high in the saddle. You think the cowboys were like: (heavy lisp): Excuse me, can I have some soy based vanilla cream in this, sweatheart? Oscar party at my place tonight boys!
Failing that, I'd look at the info on your creamer. If it's under 50 cal, probably not a big deal. If it's over, maybe go with artificial sweetener and a drop of real cream. Or maybe there are other options for girling up your coffee when on a diet.
Artificial sweeteners: in a perfect world, to be avoided. But it's not a big deal. Not much you can do to yourself is worse than obesity. If you have changed your palate to where you enjoy diet soda, that is a great step.
Diet DP, diet A&W cream soda and diet Barque's are all pretty good.

I like girl coffee. The creamer has 35 calories per serving and i do 2 servings. I use a pretty large to go cup. Could do the smaller one and use less. I was using sweet n low and no cream for a while. It was fine until I used cream one day and was like wtf was I drinking. Black coffee is just gross. I would prefer to not drink it.
SInce you are the fast master. Is an intermittent fast but with 70 calories in the morning ruining the entire idea of the fast? Should I just eat a breakfast instead?
Not sure exactly how that pertains to your case and these things are inexact anyway.
Maybe 1 creamer and a bit of fake sugar?
Had some walnuts, for chromium, some parsley tea as a diuretic and then made some Lentil Mush with diced tomatoes.
