As for the racism I like to believe everyone here is above that. Any issues people have with Kendry are not about race, more so on content.

??? The trick had nothing to do with time-zones. In fact the time difference never occurred to me. Are you thinking that way because I appeared to show the evening draw results in what would be USA morning?Quote:- At the time, I did not realize that OD was in a different time zone and could share the results with me.
I showed the results as soon as possible after the draw. The predictions were originally made at least 24 hours before the draw. That's not to say the predictions were set in stone
Oh that's a Good one. So you edited the post to make them look like you picked it?
I don't think anyone should suddenly change their tune just because she is a black female.

I'd really like the Kentry implications to stop. I am not him and it's making me feel uncomfortable when I see those implications.
Quote: gordonm888I absolutely do not mean to insinuate in any way that either you, Babs or OD are racially biased or racially motivated in any way. Absolutely not. I respect all of you and believe that you are all earnest, decent people.
OD, Babs and you are all in public-facing jobs and I suspect that your employer has not given you much (or any) training in Equal Opportunity/Nondiscrimination issues and requirements. I have had a lot of training and experience in this area during my career and having heard your responses I believe you guys are simply less-than-perfectly aware of some definitions, requirements and things-to-avoid. Please understand that good-hearted, well-intentioned people can step over a "discrimination" line because they don't even know how the courts have defined that line -and because they are so zealous and caught up in doing their job that sometimes they are not sensitive to how their actions look to the "protected class" of people they are dealing with. Or how their actions look to spectators/observers.
No one wants to make a federal case of this rinky-dink matter. I don't even care if you guys remained convinced that you have never done anything that warrants criticism. What I did hope for was to make one or two of you more sensitive to certain diversity aspects of this situation as we go forward- and I already see signs that that may have happened. So, no need to disturb the peace further.
Note: Oh, I did take on board your comments about policies regarding posting lottery picks. I do agree that your initial compromise with Nathan was a good one because I have been enjoying Nathan's posts about lottery picks and am intrigued to see how she changes and grows (or not) over time. And, I offer four words to OD about moderation: Sometimes "less" is more. Or three words: Moderation in moderation.
Bolding mine, responding to that.
I'm done giving you a pass on lecturing us about this. It is you, who is reading all these EOE implications into what has been said. You, who is making a federal case of it. I have changed exactly nothing in my treatment of nathan based on your accusations, because they were false to begin with. And if there was no need to disturb the peace further, why do you post this condescending "you're guilty of ignorance but I'm done with this" continuation?
No, don't bother to answer. Rhetorical mirror. We're done here.

Given that, why continue to question and to probe?
I'm not 100% confident of identity, seems to be relevant if the identity is just a ruse, with so-called bias. Tell me the odds you'll give and it'll tell how confident you are in your beliefs. I've wanted to go to gulfstream, love their horse races. Perhaps a meet and greet can be arranged at Gulf Stream.Quote: MrVDidn't the wiz post to the effect that based on what he'd learned he was basically satisfied that Nathan was as she claimed to be?

I just happen to be watching a YouTube video about Bernie Madoff now, that would have been a tough one to call as well. Yet anyone that was told a man helped the rich get great returns only be exclusivity, it was the reddest of red flags.
Iggy Azalea
Rachel Dolezal
You can get the point someone pretending to be something they're not, cannot claim bias. That's the point of bringing it back up.

Oh that's a Good one. So you edited the post to make them look like you picked it?
So, several days later, just before I announced the winning results, I went back to my original prediction post and 'corrected it' before quoting it. The ploy had nothing to do with my different time zone, though I could have used a time zone shift to similar effect. Simple enough deception with misdirection.
I was concerned not to push the mischief too far as I never wanted to embarrass or defraud anyone.
There was a real point to the mischief. I wanted to eventually expose the 'wrong thinking' that ' we must not miss out or stop buying a ticket, because we'd kick ourselves if that was the day the numbers win' I reckon that wrong thinking is what ties a lot of players into an almost forced addiction.

I get the reasoning but I debate where the line is.
Should be explain to the person playing lottery it’s a 50% hold?
To the guy who loves The Wizard of Oz slots returning 85%?
To the guy playing Roulette at 5.26% HE
To the guy playing 6/5 BJ?
To the “Don’t Pass” guy playing max odds?
To the guy shooting H until it doesn’t do it anymore and he has to mix Xanax with it to get high?
No need Ever to defend yourself for making financial sense.
Those who want to defend it as trying to help others, as I see it, are wasting our time. Who are we to tell them they are idiots?

I will admit to not being race blind. I don't think any of us are, even blind people. I'm open to being shown how my words or actions are racially insensitive, but I still admit to no fault in this situation.

somehow i ended up in the "slow" math class in college my freshman year. the professor had us memorize the quadratic formula by singing a song. deadass, it was lit af.
the lyrics are:
"negative b plus or minus radical b squared minus four a c all over two a"

Well, it definitely is a drug. Alcohol is also a drug. Same with Tylenol.
Just not “hard” drugs.
Quote: PokerGrinderI guess. I just don't get why people lump weed in with hard drugs. I haven't smoked weed in many years but I do believe it should be legal. Tax the sh#t out of it!
2018 says hi. Weed is legal now. ;) At least for medicinal purposes. I think Colorado says hi for recreational weed. ;) Colorado says we finally get more recognition for something other than The Rocky Mountains and our baseball team, The Rockies!:P

Catchy!
I flunked freshman algebra in my first semester of highschool and ended up in that same math class. Basically it covered the same material in 3 semesters instead of two. After that class, I got pretty good at math... Not wizard / crystal math good, but good enough... I managed to get through a couple of calculus classes in college and stats up to econometrics.
The other formula I can't forget is from highschool physics. We were rolling things down an inclined plane and calculating average acceleration with:
(g sin theta) / 1 - k.
Why I recall that formula from the hundreds we used in that class is beyond me.

My newly edited signature is only 4 lines. I cut the part about the Nathaniel/Nathan thing, the Slot Lover thing, the overly long thing about the edit button and made it only 8 words.
I have to agree with you in some way. Truthfully we probably break all kinds of laws every day, when the law is pointed at you, it only matters how much money you have to fight it off, and it takes a lot of money. I'd not have guessed marijuana was illegal in Jamaica with the Rastafarian thing either. It's cruel if such a place had laws where things were known to be frowned upon or the law looked the other way, then for an unknown reason, it looks at you. Jury nullification should be allowed more often, where the law is on trial, allowing people to be free, but it doesn't go this way anymore.Quote: NathanThere is a saying that,"Ignorance of the law is no excuse," meaning just because you didn't know what you did was illegal doesn't mean you are exempt from being prosecuted for breaking the law. I completely disagree with this. If I KNEW something was illegal, I wouldn't have done it so I should be acquitted since I honestly thought I was doing something that was okay. Reminds me of a Locked Up: Jamaica episode where two American women who were visiting Jamaica together got caught with weed and were sentenced to prison. They were from Colorado or someplace where weed is legal and they didn't know that Jamaica didn't play around with weed. They were ignorant of the Jamaica law and I think they should have been acquitted considering they came from a place where weed is legal.
