IIHS , "The Audi A4, BMW 3 series, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Nissan Maxima, Subaru Outback and Volvo S60 have systems that earn superior ratings. They avoided collisions or slowed substantially in track tests."

My wife's Mazda has a very elaborate system. It even stopped us from hitting a dog.

In 1965, we were told that as adults we would be able to go coast to coast in an hour and would be spending weekends on moonbases.
I honestly expected that I would honeymoon on the moon. Then we seem to have decided that bigger televisions were more important than space travel and we took our eyes off the prize.
some lucky ones got to see the rare conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn - both visible to naked eye at same time for the first time in 800 years
this is what they saw from Trenton, FL

I always though Google Chrome was a superior browser to IE explorer and the newer MS Edge
Chrome got a bug so I had to use Edge
I always thought Google was the King of Everything tech
but I was very surprised to find that Edge was much, much quicker - on my desktop anyway

Not everything is open
Its very very trippy inside
Love all the art work outside and inside
Its kind of a nightclub/latest in VR/Art/food
The latest in VR looked pretty neat, Birdfly
You lay on your stomach and they attach your arms to a flaps device for wings
Looks pretty neat
One bar allows you to throw axes

Saturn and Jupiter are always visible to the naked eye at night. It’s the fact that two planets were this close together (its been 800 years since two planets were this close together ((as seen from the earth)) that’s historic).
But you might find it interesting that the planet Venus is visible in the daytime to the unaided eye sometimes. I have pointed it out to many people over the years.
IMHO the stupidest computer thing ever
browsers, unless you change it in the settings, they autofill your username and password
so, if somebody is just starting with computers, and not aware of this there could be a workman in their house who could easily get their username and PW for their bank
all he would have to do is go to their history to get their bank
I disabled it - I can't remember if it actually shows the PW or just fills it - but I think it does show it if you don't change it........even if it doesn't it's still a big risk
I noticed this because I just started using MS edge and had to disable it
insane
if instead of automatically doing it right away - they offered it but it required enabling - then the person would know they needed to lock their computer if there is risk
but still - it's easy to forget to lock your computer

I've never heard of that, and I just checked and saw that I'm owed money. Less than $100, so it'll probably be like $3 but still nice to know about it.
FYI those can be inaccurate i got all my money I was owed and it still says im owed thousands last time i looked.Quote: jmillsI've never heard of that, and I just checked and saw that I'm owed money. Less than $100, so it'll probably be like $3 but still nice to know about it.
I'm not a fan of OTC medicinal products
they usually either suck or are mediocre IMO
but there are a few exceptions
this one is really great IMO
the quality of my sleep has improved a lot since I started using them
at first I couldn't get them to stick - but I googled around and found you need to dry your nose before you apply them - that works

I am skeptical of any medicinal product that doesn't have FDA approval. I just won't take it. My thought is if your product works why not go through the verification process. If the FDA does not approve it, you are selling snake oil.

I don't agree with what you're saying although much of the time you're correct
quite a few of these products have undergone scientific testing
some, have gotten positive results and this is verified by N.I.H. which is probably the most respected medical institution in the world
this includes the product I referred to and the conclusions of N.C.B.I., N.I.H. and the National Library for Medicine are linked
and I hope you weren't implying that I'm selling this product - I have no relationship at all with any entity involved in the production of this item
I simply referred to a product I like as chit chat - say it sucks and I don't really care - this is just my opinion - I can't lose or gain a dime

No, I in no way assumed or claimed that you were trying to sell this product. That product may be great and I don't even know if the FDA would look at it. I was mainly referring to the so called supplements market. (eg. This will boost your testosterone 50%, This will help you fight off certain conditions, etc.)

Some OTC medicines used to require prescriptions but were moved to the OTC side. As a kid I needed Chlor-trimeton almost daily in the summer, as I was allergic to mosquito bites. At the time, you needed a prescription and it was pretty expensive. My Doctors had said the allergy would likely fade with puberty and it did. Right after that they made it OTC. When I took it, it was in a green liquid you had to refrigerate so I couldn't keep it with me at all times. Now it is in a tablet form you can carry anywhere.

Maybe because of the multi million dollar price tag to get FDA approval!?!
My generation was better
Verizon stupidity
you block a number on your cell
but the person or bot can still get thru to your voicemail - why? - so effing stupid
searched around and found to stop that from happening you have manage blocks on the myverizon web page or app
so I tried to do that - they tell me it's down try later
Verizon sucks

I like taking long walks for exercise.
Not the canopy portion
Down by the old Western and way past it. Free parking easy to find.
Its just a bit sketchy but not too bad
It was interesting
A lot of old abandoned motels. All boarded up but windows and doors painted on the boards
Kind of depressing
Walked into an old music record store with lots of LP's
Brought back memories as I grew up on vinyl
One old motel repurposed into a small store village. Great display of intertwined trucks as a statue
I felt safe on the walk. I dress down and look like a local.

It's a small hotel in an out of the way location. If you are bringing a sales team out for a show or are having a huge Vegas wedding.

Gold -- $1,840
Platinum -- $1,060
But, for casino loyalty programs that use them as tier levels, Platinum is always a higher tier than Gold.

However, they flip-flopped about 10 years ago, and I don't see gold ever being less than platinum in my lifetime (I could easily be wrong, though).
WTF is up with platinum
I inherited 2 William Tell 1 ounce pure platinum coins 20 years ago
Shocked at the drop in platinum prices over the last 10 years
Hard to believe my gold I also inherited is worth way more then my "white gold"

In the military, silver outranks gold.
A 2nd Lt. wears a gold bar., while a 1stLt wears a silver bar
A Major wears a Gold oak cluster, while a Lt. Colonel wears a silver one.
There is a reason for it, but I honestly don't remeber.
Today is my last day here
Moving to AZ for warmer weather tomorrow
So thrilled to be leaving Vegas
Its too cold here in the winter. Sucks. I dont exercise much in chilly weather
I love shorts weather that I am moving too tomorrow. So much more healthier as I spend a lot of time getting exercise riding my bike exploring. Cold weather makes me hibernate in my RV.
Have not gambled in 2 weeks and am proud of myself. Its illogical and dumb.
Bottom line, I would never live here
Golf is too expensive and no beautiful parks with shaded trails to ride my bike. No sense of community in Vegas RV parks. The atmosphere is like a big city. The atmosphere at other RV parks outside of Vegas have a small town feel and are filled with travelers like me, travelers out seeing the whole country and hanging out outside for conservations with fellow RV explorers comparing notes on our travels. In Vegas, its long timers staying in one spot not traveling or people from CA coming here for a few days because CA shut down.

I'll check it out when I come back
Looks like a very brutally hot ride in the summer. Wheres the shade
Nothing in Vegas itself for a nice bike ride?
One of my favorite all time trails was the one right by my old house in Tampa
http://uppertampabaytrail.org/
Its fabulous. Lots of shade. Trail either has a bridge over cross streets or it goes underneath cross streets. Many water stations and a bathroom station. Runs right next to Big Cat Rescue made famous on Tiger King.
Check out Lake Powell campground at Page Az., it's a nice drive from LV up the Virgin river gorge. Around Kanab on the way, there are some really nice sights to see, White Sands etc.,, The campground at Page I think checks all your boxes, plus if you want you can take a lake ride. lots of nice asphalt trail, beautiful scenery. Although, it has been chilly lately. It's supposed to be 80 here on Thursday?Quote: terapinedI'll check it out when I come back

I did
Twice
Its massive so in order to see the major attractions, Dantes Peak, Badwater basin, Artists Palette, Mesquite sand dunes, Badlands, Wonder Mine, Borax mine, Golden canyon ect, had to visit the park on 2 separate trips
Its in California
Park is open but all campgrounds in the park closed.
Moving to Quartzite for the Rubber Tramp Rendezvous.
Been wanting to check it out since I read the book Nomadland. (they made a movie and its a lock for best pic)
Arizona is open
I'll be playing it safe keeping my distance and wearing a mask
Just seems like a great place to ride my bike around.
People camp on BLM land but keep there distance
I'll be in a RV park with a hook up
It's a lot nicer along the river.Quote: terapinedI did

most people probably believe that until Atlantic City came about in the 70s that Las Vegas was the only place for legal gambling in the U.S.
not true
between 1949 and 1968 slot machines were legal in Waldorf, Maryland
the linked article claims that "at its peak slot revenue in Waldorf exceeded the slot revenue in Las Vegas, Nevada"
the state of Maryland has a long history of corruption and Charles County where Waldorf is located was probably rife with corruption
I presume that the legalization of slots and the subsequent illegalization of them had a lot to do with corruption
as far as I know, there was no other place in the U.S. where slot machine gambling was legal during this time frame
