Our local casino, Mohegan Pocono, has what I think is the most ridiculous UTH Trips pay table:

Wow. Might as well go play the Big Six wheel.
I don’t play much any more, only when Mrs Mosca wants to eat at Rustic Kitchen or Ruth’s Chris, the two good restaurants up there, or if she gets the hankering to go to AC; she can’t travel long distances now, so Vegas is out. We always head up to Mohegan on Halloween, though. (The ‘weeners were fun when we were younger, but now they’re a pain in the ass, interrupting the football games.) She had the chicken Marsala, I had grilled pork tenderloin with a really good mango-raisin-ginger chutney and pumpkin gnocchi. I played UTH for about 90 minutes at $10/spot, just the basic bet. I bought in for $500, lost my first bet and stayed below the line until the end, down as much as $270; my stop-loss was $300 ($200 left). I caught a few 4x bets at the end, though, and went home with $520.
Good times. Always nice to escape with a win, no matter how small. “Dear Lord, help me break even ‘cause I really need the money” n’at, y’know?
Rustic Kitchen: two cups of soup and two entrees, $87 after tax and before tip. Not bad, and the food is pretty good there.
Casinos: If you're afraid to pay players for making a rare hand with a big bet, don't deal the game.
A $450 Ante, $450 Blind, $1,800 Play, $300 Trips bet will pay $242,250. It'd be good to raise those aggregate limits to $250K in light of high limit slots that pay in excess of $200K nowadays, or even $2 million if you have $2 million slots payouts on the property..
As for the pitiful payouts on the trips bets listed, I'm not sure the Wiz's site even covers that one. The HA must be over 10%?
On MS Stud, a casino may allow a $500 max bet but that turns into a $4,000 - $5,000 total bet when you 8X - 10X it, so 500X that would be $2.0 - $2.5 million win.

It’s $100 max bet, but if you hit a royal you get whacked for the ante/play. Last summer I was there when a guy hit a royal, he was playing $25/spot. He had the Jc in is hand, board came up with xxAKQ10c! Nice guy, NASCAR fan from Alabama there with his wife for the Pocono 500.
There’s also a $5 button bet for the first 5 cards. The meter was up to $244,000. If that’s the same as the old Caribbean meter, what was break even on those? $283k, something like that? I dunno. That $5 will chew you up, y’know?

I looked it up, It’s not there. In my head at the table I guessed around 10%, but it looks like Torghatten has pegged it much higher! Borgata was rockin’ pay table 2 for a while, but they changed it to pay table 3 (the 3.5% one) a while back.
Mission called that a loss rebate for the casino. Totally chicken%&$@!Quote: DieterBah! That aggregate payout limit stinks.

It’s probably pay table 4, the 6%+ one. Regardless, I’ve sworn off the trips bet on UTH. It doesn’t hit often enough, big enough, to offset the bankroll drain. Losing isn’t fun.
On a side note, OceanAC recently replaced UTH with HeadsUp Holdem, like within the last couple months. I’ve been playing practice on line so I can be seamless at the table. It looks like the initial bet is shifted up 2 slots, from Q-8 to Q-10, K-5 to K-7, etc, up and down the line, and some of the suited card plays have changed, but the turn and river strategies are the same.

Thanks man. I don’t play much any more, being retired. We are fine financially, but my attitude toward it has changed. When I was working, I was 100% commissioned sales, and all I had to do if I wanted more money was to sell more stuff. I was good at it, and it didn’t even feel like work. Now, every dime we spend is gone, never to return. I do stupid stuff like freeze all the leftovers because ya never know, ya know. We’ll never go back and eat that last bit of soup. I know that. But it’s in my head, it doesn’t hurt anyone, it makes me feel satisfied to do it, and who cares anyhow, right?
Quote: MoscaJeez, you know what? That’s a misprint in the brochure, they left out the flush payout! We won’t be back up there until around Christmas, I don’t think; Mrs M’s Christmas party (she doesn’t want to retire and spend all day at home with me, hehe) is the 18th at The Hive, the casual restaurant-y bar there.

I don't think a casino can make up new payouts without permission from the game owner. Copyright...
But if full house pays 6, then it's a new thing because it's not on Wiz's page.
paytable 4 is 7/6/5, which is 6.x% HE.
Ocean was one of 2 atlantic city casinos with the best Trips payout: 9/7/4 (0.9% HE).

Holy, major misprint batman!
It looks like they left out the Full house payout and the word FLUSH.
so ?/6/5 so it's either 8/6/5 (2%) or 7/6/5 (6.x%)

My grandmother kept a perpetual soup going for 30+ years. That was a good soup. Never any leftovers, just the start of tomorrow's pot, waiting in a mason jar in the fridge.
I worried about running out of money when I first retired ... when the day comes you realize that was misplaced, some of that leftovers-saving will decline. As for that activity, my parents went through the Great Depression, and they handed down extreme thriftiness habits to me ... a lot I got rid of, but 'wasting food' was so high on the sin list that, yeah, I know about leftovers thrift!!Quote: MoscaQuote: odiousgambitMission called that a loss rebate for the casino. That was the source of the old nursery rhyme, “Pease porridge hot, pease porridge cold, pease porridge in the pot nine days old.” I couldn’t get away with that, though, Mrs would freak.

1) It’s 7/6/5. My mistake is in the reporting. I just looked that it wasn’t the 8, or the 30, saw the 6, and my mind made a jump.
2) Don’t I know it. We adopted Ocean as our home AC casino after years at Borgata, UTH was there in June. I was looking for gaming information on their website, couldn’t find UTH, and saw HUH. I can play HUH, if I skip the doofus bets.
One thing about Ocean, though: I don’t play enough, at high enough limits, to get my card over the second tier. I always like to run a few $100, like $500, through the $100 WoF machines, but they restrict High Limit Slots to the top 2 tiers. I mean, I get to keep my money, but bummer, y’know? I’ve hit that bet often enough over the years to stay hooked on it. Those Gold Spin WoFs suck, I won’t play them any more.

You bring the soup up to antibacterial temperatures every time, and use a different (sanitized) jar every time you pack it away.
(Maybe she just doesn't get to have soup!)
