Amazed communism could still be brought up under the new “rule”.

Zero shock at all in who brought it up.

But he's not facilitating a political argument by using the word in this context. It would be akin to someone saying, "I'm a capitalist when I tip. The harder they work, the more they get." That statement isn't arguing the merits of doing it that way. If people would get suspended for statements like this, then we're over policing this thing.

After watching several of these dumpster
diving videos, I have to wonder how you
keep your dignity and self respect while
standing in a dumpster looking for food.
After awhile it has to get to you. Like
George Costanza fishing the eclair out
of the garbage and eating it. The last
10 seconds of this says it all:

I just added a Roulette Calculator to Easy Vegas. It's in beta, so there's a good chance something doesn't work right, if not the math then the interface. Feel free to bang on it and see if you can get it to break.

I know it doesn't calculate every conceivable thing someone might want an answer about, so there's no need to suggest other calculations; I have a laundry list of things to add to the calculator already if I can find the time.

I just added another tool, a Roulette Number Generator. It nicely shows the colors, too.

Interesting request.
Nice calculator, I agree.

I found 2 errors just looking (not banging yet)
#1) avg number of uniques 37 numbers/20 spins = 15.6097 my calculation (15.62 fast sim)
THE calculator shows 9.7
note:
a formula found at math.stackexchange.com is just wrong as are many others I found there
so I did my own using a Markov chain.
It can be done easily in Excel using (binomial probability function) this
37-(BINOMDIST(0,20,1/37,FALSE)*37) = 15.6097
pari/gp code (has the formula)

#2) probability of at least 1 unique number should be 1 or 100% for spins >=1
I hard code this in my code so it is always that.

calculator took some time to put together
well done

I just added a Roulette Calculator

Nice whistle and bell, not sure of
it's usefulness in playing the
actual game of roulette.

Thank you, 7craps, this is extremely helpful!

I actually forgot to code in the "Avg. number of unique hits" case, so the code was defaulting to another case (probably the avg. number of hits of an even-money bet). I just coded it in, using your formula. And good catch on "at least 1 unique" needing to show 100%. Incidentally, I had already trapped other cases, so that <0.01 is reported as such (rather than rounding down to zero), and >99.9% is reported as such (rather than rounding up to 100%, except when the answer truly is 100%).

Would you like a thank-you credit on that page, and if so, using your screen name or real name?

what is easier for you?
I still have not got back to the calculator as the Arizona/Hawaii game is STILL going
45-35. 5 minutes left in game. I took Hawaii. should have taken the over.
I just looked at the Calc and something still is not right, but will look closer tomorrow.

Those tall narrow boxes open on my computer as utterly blank.
Are you only coding for recent computers using recent browsers?

Should work on older browsers. (But not Netscape Navigator 1 from 1995; I don't know exactly where the cutoff is where it won't work any more.). You do have to have Javascript on, no way around that. What tall, narrow boxes are you talking about? And what OS/browser version are you using?
