I've heard Walgreens has a fabulous management training program.

;) I get the implication, but I personally do not want to be a manager. They have to do a lot of math, deal with a lot of rude customers, and do a lot of physical work. They get paid more but all the extra responsibilities makes it seem not worth it to me. No thank you. ;)

Dealing with debt collectors is very easy. Send them a letter (certified mail, return receipt requested, or they'll say they "lost" it) that says pursuant to the Federal Fair Debt Collections Practices Act, I hereby insist that you CEASE AND DESIST all future communication with me.

It works every time. I had a terrible financial crisis 10 years ago, with quite a few debt collectors calling me every day, and when I found out about this law, I wrote them and never heard from them again. They take it seriously because the civil punishment is $1,000 per violation (that's per phone call, per letter sent, after you get the return receipt back).

The only communication they are allowed after getting a C&D letter is to let you know that they are going to sue you, and they must follow through or that letter will cost them $1,000. It's rare they sue people because that costs money, and it's hard to squeeze blood out of a turnip, so they just write it off. The biggest single bill I had was $20,000, and they didn't sue me over that one.

Fraud means someone else used your card without your permission. You did use your own card and then falsely claimed it was fraud. Okay, so the "victim" here is just a scummy debt collector, but the best thing to do is send that C&D letter.

When can they report to your credit?

I have one trying to nab me for $150 that I have no idea about. Lots of nasty emails and voice mails saying they are going to report it to my credit. I just keep ignoring them.

Go ahead and forbid all communications including intent to avail themselves of extraordinary remedies, such as filing suit. Its a way of showing you even know the exceptions and although they can file suit and let you know it, they won't because they know you are a "sharpie".

Debt collection laws are written for the dumb, not the person of even ordinary intelligence.

Should casinos offer left over free play for people who can't use it? For example, let's say I'm on vacation in Orlando at Disney world, on April 25th-May 2nd) and when I come back to Miami on May 3rd, I find an offer of say, "We have a great gift offer for you! $50 combined free play April 25th-May 2nd!" I was on vacation for a week during that offer so obviously I couldn't use it since I was four hours away in a different city. I think I should get a do over and get those unused $50 free play since I had no idea I even had free play.

They had a ton coin dropper video poker machines at Main Street Station and the Cal when I was out there in March. Between the two options, I'd play at MSS because of the scratch cards. It was very nostalgic taking a couple of buckets full of coins to the cashier. A lot of then have a treasure chest feature where quads pay a bonus... Fun!

EDIT: Unless you are Asian or Hawaiian... Then I'd go the the Cal for the repeat offers.

If they still have them, they would be in the far rear of the casino, by the Blimpies and in the alcove by the entrance to pizza place. None in the areas by the tables.

I found one by accident at Jokers Wild when I was out there last year. While waiting for Mrs. Joeman to emerge from the rest room, I put a $20 in to a $1 slot. After a few pulls, she came out, and I hit the Cash Out button, thinking I would get a tito. Instead... ka-thunk, ka-thunk, ka-thunk... Man, there is nothing like the sound of dollar tokens dropping into the metal bucket!

oh man. i have some fond memories of jokers wild when i was a broke college student. I ate their $2-something breakfast special and played their $0.10 roulette for hours until my belly was full of bud lights. I may have spent MAYBE $20 for breakfast, hours of roulette, and 6-7 buds. Good memories. Too bad Ms. Siegfried won't step in a dive joint with me! I wonder if they still have $0.10 a chip roulette. I'm not a big roulette player, but there's nothing like spreading and splashing those $0.10 chips on the table like a highroller. The cocktail waitresses were super nice and grateful even if you tip them a dollar a drink.

A metal tray kept slightly loose just to amplify that sound.

JW is not physically able to expand its air conditioning or surveillance system. Not enough plenum space or something like that.

Great bargains though. Do they still have that McMuffin and Mimosa for breakfast special?

This talk of coin droppers reminds me of one time maybe 25 years ago, I stopped into Palace Station and sat down at a $1 poker machine that was only supposed to drop coins at cash out but this machine was broken, it would accrue credits as normal for all wins but also was dropping about 3 coins on each win. I wasn't smart enough to realize that the change woman in the carousel behind me could hear this and she called it in ( I think).

After playing for about 5 minutes two suits came up and said they had to shut down my machine as it was broken. I played dumb and they let me cash out my credits and keep all the coins in the tray.

Not to mention salad bowls and serving platters. I think that they purchase overstock at extremely discounted prices and take a tax deduction for full value. Thus making some money on taxes thru income offsetting. Damn APing casinos. Explains why they rarely have something of any real usefulness or value.

If anybody is into anime there's a new series on Netflix called Kakegurui that's about a high school where all the students are high rolling gamblers and challenge each other to games during the school day. Just a warning, though... if you're turned off by the sexualization of Japanese schoolgirls, you might want to pass on this one. Nothing R-rated, though. Just pervy. Oh yeah, Child Safety locks. I remember trolling my Mom as a child myself. I KNEW Mom's car had the child safety lock so I pretended to be opening the door on a busy highway. I knew there was no way I was going to be able to open up the door with the CS on the car. Mom freaked out as many parents would have. In hindsight, that was actually pretty dangerous to get my Mom freaked out on a busy highway. I was a kid back then so I didn't think of the possibility of causing Mom to have an accident, but as an adult I think,"Wow, what a highly foolish prank to pull on Mom!"

The only thing I've picked up at a giveaway recently was an Amazon Fire. Before that was a Samsung galaxy tab. Usually only go out of my way for tablets, for more sports betting consoles.

I've been binging Attack on Titan, and Full Metal Alchemist lately. Titan's probably the best anime I've seen in a long time.

I just finished One Punch Man and really enjoyed it. Working on Death Note right now. And Kakegurui.

About people scamming countless people into giving up multipliers on Ultimate X by claiming they were winning big on another machine,(Victim takes the bait, cashes out, goes to "better paying," machine and scam artist ends up playing game that victim didn't know had a lot of multipliers, therefore scam artist now has very good odds to win big) I personally think the manufacturers should have programmed the machine so that as soon as you press "Cash out," all multipliers disappear so this scam would have been non existent.

So you would screw people out of their legitimately earned multipliers for bathroom breaks, going to the ATM, or someone randomly making a quick score when a machine has been left with a multiplier, just to protect stupid and gullible people who can be lured off one. Got it.
If the House lost every hand, they wouldn't deal the game.

I used to be a big anime fan
Attack on Titan is very good. Really liked it
I checked out Full Metal but did not get deeply into it
Cowboy Bebop is my all time favorite anime
Black Lagoon is also very good
Ghost in the shell rocks
I liked Death Note with L. After L not so good
Bleach is endless but I did watch the 1st major story arc, about 100 episodes
Hellsing rocks with Alucard. A kick ass version of Dracula.
When somebody doesn't believe me, I could care less. Some get totally bent out of shape when not believed. Weird. I believe very little on all forums

I used to be a big anime fan

I was a big anime and manga fan back in the late 80's and early 90's, but back then that stuff was almost impossible to come by in small-town America, so my interest kind of waned simply due to lack of product. Back then anime was still called "Japanimation," and I remember one of my friends got a huge kick out of seeing that sign in Blockbuster video. He said to me, "Can you believe they actually call it 'Jap Animation?'" I had to correct his pronunciation.... haha... It would blow my teenage mind to see what we have nowadays with the aisles of manga in mainstream bookstores and entire streaming channels devoted to anime. And just to make sure that little anecdote is gambling related, I have been watching that gambling themed anime on Netflix. Crazy, but I like it.

And now for something completely different:

Here's an update about the bill just passed in Oklahoma regarding legalization of roulette and craps in our Tribal casinos. Looks like they have to wait until July before the law actually goes into effect, but it sounds like they'll be ready go as soon as that happens.
