Probably why the GOP ran on "invasion" instead of "saving a $1.50 a week" during the midterms. They know who this benefits the most.

I am sure fairly She-Jack (Sheila Jackson-Lee) will be right there on the aisle in a brightly colored outfit trying to get herself on some TV.
That is one thing that seems to be a constant in SOTUs...

Doesn't it seem like just yesterday that the GOP was calling Obama a liar at the SOTU?
By the way, your post was riddled with structure problems.

That did happen. I believe one member called him that out loud. He was pretty roundly criticized and was reprimanded by the House. I wish he would have been censured; then he would have had to stand in the well while the resolution of censure was read.
If someone in Congress does that tonight, I expect the appropriate leader to handle it with appropriate action.

“While I disagree with the president’s statement, my comments were inappropriate and regrettable. I extend sincere apologies to the president for this lack of civility.”
The person he interrupted was the President, so that is who received the apology.
I think his apology was fine and the reprimand was appropriate...but I would rather have seen him treated to a reading of a censure in the well of the House...

Over-structure. It flowed too smoothly and

Quote: jackmagic777Investor Business Daily, what would they know about workers benefits and tax cuts. Pardon me.
Considering this entire article was sourced by Americans for Tax Reform, it's 7 months old, and IBD has a right-wing bias, it's hard to take it seriously. I'm not saying that none of this is true, or at least it was at the time of publication. I'm simply pointing out that if the tax reform bill was wildly popular, I think we would've seen the GOP midterm campaign focus on it. But they didn't. It speaks volumes that they chose "invasion" over "look how much richer you are".

But the article as published was a LIE. They weren't talking about what would happen to the average person with ALS in the UK. They wrote this instead.
As the Obama administration sought to reform the US healthcare system in 2009, the US Investor’s Business Daily argued that Stephen Hawking “wouldn’t have a chance in the UK, where the National Health Service would say the life of this brilliant man, because of his physical handicaps, is essentially worthless”.
They argued the NHS would screw over Stephen Hawking himself, NOT the average person with ALS. You may be right about the average person and the NHS vs. healthcare here, i just expect the average American will be saddled with a ton of bills toward their "better" care of ALS. But this doesn't excuse the fact that they LIED in the article they wrote to spin their point the way they wanted to.

I'm pretty sure you're incorrect. This sworn testimony of Don Jr's and other witnesses has been suppressed and withheld under Nunez and the Republicans. It's hard to compare other sources and Intel with those statements if you're not allowed to see them.
It seems to be common knowledge that Don Jr. lied to Congress under oath (a felony), but Mueller doesn't go forward on heresay. With transcripts,.they can compare line by line with facts. So the fish fry is yet to come.

So releasing sealed evidence to the

Yeah, I don't think so. If they had anything,
they would indict first and release
crucial evidence as they went along.

Speaking of Mueller, Rush said something
interesting yesterday. He's heard from so
many inside sources that Mueller long ago
turned over the investigation to Weisman,
that he's starting to believe it. After Mueller
realized there was no 'there' there, he got
bored and handed off the ball.
It wasn't a story Rush did, it was just an
interesting aside at the end of a segment.
But for Rush to even mention it means
there's probably a lot of the truth there.

Because Don Jr. lied to Congress, and the GOP refused to send the transcripts of his testimony to Mueller. Today that changed. Thanks, Dems.

I read up on this a bit after someone declared it as fact. The statements that some Dems involved made at the time seemed to stop shy of saying the knew he lied some "thought that he may have lied"...While I am sure Schiff is happy to get the information to the prosecutor, gloating may not be in order quite yet.

No, I am talking about Dems who were in the hearing where the ones that they thought he might have lied. That is what you folks doing your touchdown dance are missing so far--they were not even sure in the committee that he had lied to the committee. If they are not sure, then Mueller isn't sure. He has to see the evidence and decide from there.
Maybe you'll get to do your dance, but not quite yet.
I don't do touchdown dances. As my 9th grade coach told me ,oh so many years ago, when you get to the end zone, act like you've been there before and plan on returning real soon. I might just do one when Sr is locked up.
Quote: billryanHow were they supposed to know for sure he was lying until they got him on record telling his version. I'm not sure what you are trying to say. They got him on the record and now they give the transcript to the SC so he can determine if what was said is supported by facts. The Republican lead committee refused to turn over the transcripts in order to prevent this from happening.

People are celebrating because the records are being turned over.
Records being turned over is information that could prove something happened.
That's all...
Over 1.6 million arrests were made by just about 9,200 agents nationwide in the 2000. But those figures tapered off as the government dramatically increased staffing and resources like more surveillance technology and tall, steel fencing.
By last fiscal year, about 19,000 Border Patrol agents made 310,000 arrests.
https://www.yahoo.com/news/arizona-city-officials-decry-razor-183702649.html
It's a crisis. Yep. A crisis. Trump talked about El Paso last night. What he didn't mention is that El Paso was selected as one of the safest cities in America the year before the fencing was put in. Quite a few factors were involved with cleaning up El Paso. The fence wasn't one of them as crime decreased for almost a decade before the fence was installed.
Today, in Tejas, the gubermint started building a wall in the middle of a butterfly sanctuary. It's also building the wall through the middle of a historic Catholic cemetery and when it is finished will leave a historic Catholic Church on the wrong side of the fence, cut off from it's parishioners. Luckily for them, the wall is only a few miles long so all it really does is cause them a detour.
Quote: RonCPeople are celebrating because the records are being turned over.
If there is any celebration going on, it's because we have elected legislators that are actually doing their job.

They don't know what they have. That's the point. It's been suppressed /withheld from Mueller until now.
Releasing requested information from a closed congressional hearing to a special prosecutor is very different from releasing it to the public. But, in the end, it is public information and will come out eventually.
