Quote: slytherI signed on at about 7:03 this morning to try to claim a dinner at Luxor's Tender and it was already sold out.
Had it been reloaded for the day already? Awards are never reloaded precisely at 7am PDT. Also, the sold out sign will often remain on the main rewards page, but if you click on the reward, it will become available for purchase when it gets reloaded.
At least that's what happened when I booked two nights at Mirage, another reward that used to sell out in minutes. Fortunately I succeeded the first day. Tender is probably a more difficult reward to get though since it's one of the most valuable rewards left.
Quote: CrystalMathYes, you are capped at 7,500 LP from gameplay. You can still gain by leveling, the daily spin, or harvesting. Also, you won't start gaining again until 24 hours from your first game yesterday.
Oh wow, didn't know that. I can't force myself to play that blackjack that long. That would take me several hours. I think I can make 1000LPs/hr at blackjack at the most.
Quote: AZDuffmanNew bonus based on upcoming game. Looks like the "collect the 'X'" games. Chips as bonus.
Yep, working on collecting now. Odds on a math model clone for new game: 1 to 5
Quote: FinsRuleI thought this whole thing was pretty much a scam, but then a friend told me I HAVE to do it. Is it worth it, or is everything good gone already?
Eh, it was a lot better deal 6 months ago, and was even better one month ago, but you can get some decent stuff if you just occasionally play and dutifully "chip farm". The best "awards" available now seem to have a retail value of $2 per 1000 loyalty points. I have been able to earn about 350,000 loyalty points (LPs) in about 6 months and my g/f has earned about 300k LPs. We redeemed about 420k LPs in May and got 2 nights at Mirage, 2 nights at Monte Carlo, 2 tickets to "Love", and one ticket to Boyz II Men (I went and played poker that night...lol). Unfortunately now, room nights are an award for just one night, you can't by multiples of the same award on one account (and only one account per MLife card holder, obviously), and you're only allowed to redeem 3 awards per 30 days. For myself at least, the game awards me "comps" faster than the actual casino does.
Oh, there's always next year... Perhaps by then I'll have half a million points and they'll buy me the tip at a bar ;)
If you have a wife/husband/girlfriend/boyfriend/whatever you can get the most out of rooms by criss-crossing reservations since they don't do the 2 nights anymore. I got stuck with a night at MGM, Aria, and Mandalay Bay all 1 night stays. As nomadic as I am I prefer to stay in a room as long as possible, that goes against the churn and burn tactics of casino hotels.
A question for Mlife comps: If you get issued a food comp can you break them down like a gift card, or are they one time use only?
Has anyone redeemed any of the 'bottle service' awards? I wonder how many bottles are covered.
Quote: AZDuffmanDouble XP on NYNY.
Been playing this on and off this weekend for 1500 a spin since I had about 600k chips. Just ot my biggest bonus round at 1500 ever for 178k (5 farmers w/wild during double spins) to bring me back to ~even. These games do really behave like slots...lol But I have earned a good number of LPs this weekend though. :)
That and I lost 3mil playing BJ...... the doomswitch has been activated.
1) Terry Fator
2) Zarkana
3) O
And that is for me and the Mrs.
No too shabby !
I'm still surprised that Caesars Entertainment hasn't come up with a good
response to this. Unless there opinion is that it isn't increasing the amount
of gambling going on at the M-Life properties.
I will gamble more at M-Life joints this trip. Not exclusively, but more.
Quote: rudeboyoiso was i supposed to pay money for this? ive been playing for two months maybe. im level 81 and am 5% complete on MGM and have about 110k in loyalty chips.
I am level 79, 120k in LP and have long since completed MGM. Bet 200 a spin on lucky birds and you will get the MGM built quicker.

yah i wasnt sure if the frequency of V symbols were dependent on how much you bet or not. i usually just bet the max i can on whatever game is currently giving the most experience so as to not waste too much time playing it.

Certainly that is the best strategy if you want to maximize $$$ per hour, but it may be wise to bet small for a while just to knock out the MGM.
Redemption was easy and my friend and i were both quite satisfied with our selections. Get the street style tacos or Fajitas at Diablo's!
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has already been discussed, I could not find anything other than pertaining to free play.
Quote: ShoeDoes anyone know if it is worthwhile to buy points to work on comps? If for example, I bought the 630,000 chips for $199 (which includes 20k loyalty points) can I grind that into more than $200 worth of comp value?
Thanks in advance, and sorry if this has already been discussed, I could not find anything other than pertaining to free play.
As a guess I would say the only way to do this is to have your eye on something you want and put a value on it, then decide how many LPs you will get out of the chips you buy. Never buy unless there is a bonus, but without a goal of the comp you want the question is a little general to answer well.

Never buy points & chips. Right now your trading your time for comps there may be some value in that for you. I don't see a situation where trading your time + your cash would = a good value. Keep your cash and keep grinding away for free.
Also for what its worth They are offering me 1,375.000 for 199. Of course they wont be getting a nickle from me.

Weird, they must scale the chips they offer based on your level or something. Mine has gone up from 630k to 810k now after gaining several levels.
I agree they probably aren't worth buying, just grind and get whatever you can for free, I was just thinking if you bought chips and they convert over to comps at a 100% rate or something it wouldn't be that much different than just buying the hotel and could provide some entertainment in the mean-time. I'm looking for MGM Grand weekend rooms primarily, so was just thinking if I could speed that up and break-even in the process it might be worthwhile.

The biggest problem is that the "currency" of the game, Loyalty Points (LPs), have been devalued multiple times in the game's first 10 months of exsistence. Buying chips now for future rewards that will likely increase in cost later is a bad, bad idea. Just try to earn as many LPs as you can for free, and use them the best you can for your next trip. Also, when you have the dates for your trip set, try to buy the rewards ASAP if you're within the 90-day refund window.
I got a room at the MGM Grand using my points, and was told over the phone resort fees will be waived. When I checked in they said I had to pay it, and the front desk person was on the phone with a Myvegas person trying to figure this out. She told me to go ahead and check back later as she'll do what she can to get it waived. When I checked out I had no room charges. It felt like a bait and switch which didn't make me too happy. Good thing the front desk person was on top of her game.
Quote: rainmanNever buy points & chips.
Of course, each situation is unique.
I am limited to 3 MGM redemptions and have used them all for my upcoming trip. But I have 100K+ gold chips, and about 1.0 Mil red chips. So if I could buy just enough red chips to get the 4th redemption allowance, then I think buying chips in my situation is a good play.
Unfortunately, because the rules are so vague, I don't know what it will take to get that 4th redemption. I also agree with other posts that predict that the LP points will continue to be devalued in the future.

You might have had them waived because you complained (and/or had enough play to justify waiving them). I want to say that the default is that the resort fee is no longer covered by the award, like it used to be.
How was the room? That's def. a place we might consider staying in the future assuming points/dates work out. Check out the pool area at all? My g/f is all about that.
- Excalibur 2. Easy to follow, and I like the bonus round, especially the spinning wheel.
Biggest Win So Far:
- I hit a 748K win betting 15K one night. Nice...

15k??? *cracks optimality whip*
As for this promo, I have got killed with "Reel Chef"...the game treated me okay until this promo...doh.

I don't know if that is good or bad ! But it was during a double XP time so I was able to level up multiple times, collecting 1000 gold chips each time.
Quote: JohnnyQ2 down, 23 to go on the last level. Heading to myVegas in about 3 weeks.
In that case, betting more could be better. But FYI, you should be betting 1000/spin on 20 line games or 1500/spin for 30 line games....1700/spin for "Bet the Farm"
Quote: tringlomaneor 1500/spin for 30 line games....
Thanks ! I usually bet 1500/spin on Excalibur 2. Unless I am close to leveling up and the expiration time is coming up.
...oh, and Reel Chef has Double XP for the rest of the weekend
FYI, it takes 2M XP to finish the firework bonus. Double XP definitely helped at the end.
Quote: tringlomaneI didn't get the 1000 LP. :(
You mean this one ?

Apparently I did get it, but it didn't pop into my inbox until 2.5 hrs after the email was sent. *shrug*

Only slept there and played some bubble craps, so I can't give you a detailed report. The room was nice though. If you have a Pearl or above you can sneak into the Platinum and Gold line, as I did because I hate waiting in lines. MGM Grand has the longest line to check in I've seen.
Quote: tringlomaneIf you can level up by 7PM PDT, you will get double LPs. Figures I have a huge level to pass... :-\
Ditto, but I'm gonna go for it and see how many chips I burn through
Quote: tringlomaneFYI, loyalty points one can earn in gameplay now is capped at 2000 LP in a rolling 24 hour period. I am going to need to find a good time to go on another trip and burn off the rest of my LPs and then maybe give up after that. The game is just likely to get worse as time goes on. But then again, it doesn't take too long to earn 2000 LP betting 1000/spin either...
That sounds weak. Since moving here I've been planning on using the loyalty points for free food. Can't beat 3 free meals per month if I can get that many points. The resort fees included in the room makes weekend getaways impractical.

Hmmmm..... That's just 2 level ups.
I figure it is about time sometime this afternoon / evening for double XP's.

You can earn unlimited level ups, but you can only earn 2,000 LP from playing the games themselves.
If I'm wrong, and they limit you to 2k total, then it's worse than I thought. I'll play today and give a definitive answer.
I don't play anymore, and I wonder if my points will be worth anything by the time I go again. I read that your points can expire if you don't play in 30 days, so I still log on occasionally to play a few hands of blackjack.
