Id prefer nothing relating to my bidding or likeness be revealed now or after the game is played - as I thought was the plan before I signed onto this game

That's fine. I was never going to reveal names but I guess I won't reveal even anonymous picks, except maybe in an aggregate form.

So, here are the round 7 results:

Pick Count Percent
$1 20 60.6%
$2 13 39.4%
Total 33 100.0%

I must say, well done, group! The percentage of high picks went up from 32.4% in round 6, but I see that as a good thing, in the interests of getting close to 50% high picks without getting too dangerously close, or going over.

As a group, I think you've done well. However, individually, there is a lot of inequity. Many of you have gone either low or high every single time. In fact, the table is still the same as the last time I posted it, I believe:

All low: 12
Mix: 22
All high: 4

In the mixed group there are quite a few who are usually high, especially when the gap between high and low is big.

So, here we are, at the last round, number 8. The choices will be $2 or $10. Picks will be due at 9 AM Vegas time on Wednesday, Sep. 14. Have at it!

As I stated pre round 7, I am selecting high this round. I have followed the thread, and really don't understand the value Mike is getting from this. Depending on the results of the last round, it will have cost Mike around 200-500 or so. Knowing that some people alternate, some always pick high, some always pick low..... isn't worth a couple hundred dollars to me.... But I would like to once again thank Mike for the free roll for all of us..... Whatever I get..... it will go into the Megabucks slot machine to try and win the jackpot.....

isn't a guarantee of $6 better than a small chance at only $4 more, or a large chance at NOTHING?

Based on only 33 picks last round, there are only 16 high picks available this round.

I will wait a few hours more to give people a chance to get their high picks in. Then I will either :

- Pick high if there are any high picks left
- Pick low otherwise

People, please don't be dicks and announce your picks.

I have picked low at every round up through round #7. It is early in the round and I will pick high this round and contribute all of my winnings to a group pool that is shared equally based on the number of contributors, not the dollars contributed. Based on winning $1 in the 6 successful rounds, if this round is successful, I will be forwarding all $16 to Romes for pooling purposes. If this round is not successful and I believe it will not be, I will be contributing my $6 to the pool.

People, please refrain from calling other members "dicks"

I may have already done that, but I will go on the record as saying that I will support some kind of a group bet or parlay OR a donation to charity...whatever the majority of the group participating wants to do.

Of course, I am a lying about other things here according to some members, so can you trust me?

I am not as bad as some would think...I actually helped someone here get a part-time opportunity to make money doing something that person really enjoys doing and I asked nothing in return except some updates (privately) on how it worked out.

28 picks submitted for round 7 so far. Looking for 10 more.

Also, how do you feel if I post a history of individual picks while not indicating any player names? I'll shuffle the player list and identify every history as just an anonymous player number. The purpose of this game was a study in human behavior and I think it would help answer questions about it if we could see the complete voting trends.

A possible downside is somebody may have claimed a certain voting history that doesn't match any actual one, which would make that person look to not be telling the truth. So just one single objection from an active player and I won't do it.

Feel free to post my bids with my name.

Also, $10 for me this round. I'm offering all of my winnings to the Romes parlay pool at the end as well.

I'm one of the 12 who picked low in each of the first 7 rounds, and I'm also in the parlay pool. I've chosen $10 in this round with the goal of sending more of Mike's money off the to parlay pool. If the round fails, it's $6.

I have the running tally of picks at this point as:

4 - High
0 - Undisclosed
0 - Low
34 - Yet to Pick

[I do not intend to maintain the list/tally for this round; this is to just get it started.]

Yayyyy. Way to go us.
Now..... I reach out to teams, team leaders, team members and aspiring team players.

Mike has ramped up the bid gap. He will surely ramp up the rally call for dissent and try to mess with our heads.
How do you/we want to play this last round. You/we better get our act together before the end of play.

Is there enough traction in any team play?
Is the team's objective to beat Mike?
Is there a popular objective to all bid high and to hell with beating Mike?
What the hell happened with the non-bidders / late bidders? they want their arses kicking!!!

I'll hold back my bid a while.
My inclination is to bid the same as any bid which is declared by AxelWolf. If he bids High, then he has no right to call me a Rat, and I might bid high to punish him.
If Axel declares a low bid, I'm happy to do likewise for the greater good.
I have ZERO interest in bidding high to punish us all, because that would be exactly who such a group would punish.

Placeholder table which I will update as the numbers come in.

So far, I've taken account of all declarations and pre-declarations of policy going back to page 60 of this thread.

So... according to Mike only 13 bid High??? and 6 declared that they bid High? We could read something into that!!!

But didn't you just do just that?
We need to have knowledge of the bids in order to win. If the team wants to track its bids privately in PMs that would be best and I'd hope that any team that knows its a team is already awash with such PMs.

I'm not currently in a team. If I choose to join one, I'll abide by its rules. and collective decisions

No-one invited me yet.

Guys,
Just as a reminder DON'T bid $1 this round. The low Bid is $2 and the high bid is $10
If you bid $1, then Mike could treat that as a non valid bid which would really hurt all players.

Mike,
I implore you to take any $1 bids and treat them as $2 bids

Wow, so looks like everyone is going High so they can collect on their $15-$20 total?

Bleh... I'm in it for the team... and by the team I mean the hookers and blow... $2 for me. Submitting right after I post this.

I encourage others to pick $2 so we can win this last round.... Think about it... What if we could get the EXACT SAME RESULTS as last round??? 22 * 2 + 13 * 10... we'd be rollin in the money!!! NO NEED for everyone to bet $10!
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

I have not sent PM yet, but will most likely pick $10

I will split my winnings between the charity option and one of those who picked low all 8 rounds. (I may give all to the player if i dont like the charity option)

Let me say that no matter what, I will not publish anybody's pick histories, even if they request it.

I'd like to change one of the rules on WizPay and that is to tell the recipient who the money is coming from, much like PayPal. Again, it will be allowed to make partial payments. Any objections?

There will also be a charity option -- I'm thinking to Three Square again.

I intend to pick randomly but am happy to join a team of N people where a random event is used to select which 2/3 pick low and which 1/3 pick high.

An example is to give everybody a number (1 to N) and using the integer part of the closing Dow Jones index - if your number plus the DJI is divisible by 3 you can bet high else bet low. Just an idea - wish I'd though of it earlier.

Well, I thought it was looking a bit lonely in camp 'Beat Wizard' so I bid low.
Over in camp 'greedy or punish or just plain wupped by Wizard' the high bids are racking up nicely.
Well done Wizard, I think you fooled enough of the people enough of the time.

I bid low. The formatting in this table is beyond my phone. Someone please update it. Thanks.

Also, there are some declarations being made in the cooperation round 8 thread that are not reflected here. If someone could correlate that info now that the round has started, I think it would be very useful. Again, thanks.

Happy to oblige.
Note that I'm delighted to bid for my $2, which could benefit the team that I'm not even a part of. I could have said ' I join the team, bid low, and accept my share of the proceeds of the round'. I figure that would have been my optimum play. But I'm more honourable than that.

If anyone is misguided enough to bid high as a punishment tactic, then look who you punished.
If Axel bids high and we still beat Mike, then I'll say it now, well done dude.

Thanks again Wizard.

My Round #8 pick has been submitted following the same strategy as throughout this game. Once again, list my pick as "undisclosed".

While the Wizard now seems to have announced that he will not be revealing picks or pick patterns, even without names, I think it would be interesting if the players did this: After the game is finished, if you are willing to announce honestly in the forum what your pick was for each round, then do it. We can add up those picks, compare them to the announced results, and (assuming that folks were really honest after the game was over) determine the combined picks for those who didn't want to share personally-identified info. As indicated before, I am quite prepared to announce all of my (variable) picks and the (consistent) method I used to select them.

As far as this round goes, it matters not, because we're absolutely, positively going to crash and burn this time. That $10 is just too tempting for some. But what REALLY kills it is, I strongly suspect, that many people can't stand the idea of their getting only $2 while others are getting $10. That really frosts their cupcake.

Of course, since I'm rational, I'd rather I get $2 and everyone else gets $1,000,000, a new Porsche, and daily oral sex for a year than I get $0 and everyone gets nothing as well. What everyone else gets harms me not at all.

So, do I put you down as $2 or would you rather have the $0 that bidding $10 will get you?

Your best strategy, AAUI is to declare your allegiance to a team. Promise and bid $2 and expect a share of the spoils of that team. That share will be something between 0 and a bit more than $2

Even though it has no chance, I am bidding $2 for round 8. I believe this will give me $6, or $8, depending on round 8's success or failure.
I will join Romes pool if I am granted an equal share,

I couldn't have said it better myself. Personally, sacrificing the $2 would be worth it to me to not feel envious and stupid over the greedy getting $10.

I have not yet submitted my "high" vote to Wizard and based on what is happening with the preponderance of High bids, I am likely to change my vote as the group appears to be crashing and burning this round. There also seems to be a willingness by the majority of players to contribute their share of the pie, regardless of size, for an equal share of the Romes Bet Pool.

Wiz, is it possible to change bids for those that have already submitted? Can a player change their bid up until the deadline?

Nobody has asked that before. Here in Vegas, once you walk away from the window you can't take a bet back. I've never heard of anybody going back to a polling station because he changed his mind. No, I think once you make a decision you should stick with it.

Well I guess my failure to immediately submit my vote is a good thing.

I will submit my bid for $2 now as I think the group is going to need it to succeed. OD, please change my bid from High to Low on the schedule..

Wizard is SOOOO keen to get in these high bidders. Set player against player. Don't fall for it guys.

In Roulette, can't you change your bet while the wheel is spinning?

Anyhow, in that video, I characterised the adult as Mike throwing a hissy fit at the thought of being outsmarted.

Mike, any chance of throwing a bet in on whether or not the group succeeds? I already bid (as you can confirm) so I couldn't skew the data with my one vote anyways... I don't think the group will succeed this round. Almost everyone who has declared a vote publicly has said they're bidding high. I just don't get why...
Playing it correctly means you've already won.

You CAN in horse racing. Right up to the start of the race, you can cancel a bet. Isn't this cooperation game something of a pari-mutual event?

You guys can bet among yourselves but I have much more information than you do so it wouldn't be fair for me to bet. I've always felt strongly in a level playing field when making a bet.

Somehow I don't see Axel getting "suckered" into many bets.

Are you willing to bet we can do it :)

I used Axel as one of the most unlikely examples I could think of. I'm scared jhitless of betting against Axel, even when I suspect he's wrong.

But then I suffer from some inferiority complex or something that Axel has touched on many times. It's all in the threads, read your asses off ;-)

The 'Team', this or that one, or the 'Players' together, individually, or in 'Groups' can take this game down for a profit. That has never been a secret. The question is still floating around, "Will They"?.

I can help, maybe.
Someone needs to remind me daily of what day it is ;-)
And how to spell 'Wizard', which the mis-spell of got me booted out of these charades in round one.
Apparently Wizrad is 'un-deliverable' no matter how big a hurry you happen to find yourself in ;-)

So, according to last tally there are 11 high picks . I will assume undisclosed picks high for this last round. Totals 14 high picks. So I will pick high, for one last high pick remaining.

high picks still available: 1

as always: be a team player, declare your pick! Otherwise, you will ruin it for all of us!
