My god man you are an untrusting soul!
Surely all the named players were long established members in good standing, even I recognised most of them.
A truly devious cheat could have risked posting multiple high bids.

Anyhow, I received my winnings and have now spent them :o)

Ya young whippersnapper.

My eyes are wide open to the possibility of frauds and rascals.

In this case, they would have had to be pretty careful to get away with it or else pretty dumb to try it.

You said you'd have a be(t) on the probability of such sock puppetry. What odds are you offering?

You win if you can persuade Mike to explore the evidence ( server log files or whatever) AND he is convinced beyond reasonable doubt that such cheating went on.
I win If you cannot persuade him to deliver that verdict. Timescales apply, of course.

You'd have me over a barrel if you already had damning evidence.

Do you know the origin of the word cynic? Pretty interesting how it went from being complimentary to being derogatory.

Maybe his machine didn't pay the progressive after he dumped 10K into it ;-)

Or, you can just have some fun with him, and make me smile ;-)

You actually took the time to read all that nonsense?

Perhaps you just want to make sure no one mentioned your name (-;

I protest
Limey = personal insult.

Oh... I am aren't I?

Sorry. Please forgive 2F, I'm sure Limey was a term of endearment.

I didn't comment the entire time while mixing my bids but I can now say I "won" $14. I was more interested in watching the others see how to make this work.

Also a term of endearment as we had been, cough, slithering around together a bit.

I'm thinking about hosting a cooperation game #2. The main change this time is picks will be made public after every round. In other words, it will no longer be anonymous. I also thinking of grouping people into teams, where the majority vote within each team will represent the full vote of that team. Finally, I'm thinking of doing it like the TV show Friend or Foe, or Golden Balls for the UK members, where a pot of money will be divided among all teams that are majority Steal/Foe, unless all are Friend/Share, in which case the pool will be split equally among all teams.

At this point I welcome input on the rules.

I'm a little confused. When you hosted Golden Balls all of the Picks were made public after every round. We also sort of had teams because everything got bracketed up and those who chose, "Share," became teammates whereas those who chose, "Steal," moved on alone unless both players and/or teams chose steal.

I believe the only difference in what you're proposing is the, "Majority Rule," aspect. In the Golden Balls game we did before, you randomized a, "Leader," for each team, so that leader could technically go against the wishes of teammates. However, I don't recall there ever being any significant disagreements between teammates even then, I know there certainly weren't any on any team I was on.

Sounds fun. Is this something that could/should start after the NFL pix game is done ?

Or keep it anonymous like before, but each week let people vote someone out, or have them skip a week, or have them lose their money.

Did you mean this game? When we did Golden Balls, you could tell what people picked by who advanced, even if you didn’t post it.
