Willie Nelson with my mother's favorite singer in the 1960s and he's still performing. Every decade of my life he's been out there and here he is last month. His voice is almost gone but he can still play that guitar. He's 91, and still packs them in.

The older I get the more I appreciate things like this. This girl has a whole Channel of nothing but rope jumping. I would thank God if I believed he existed.

Trying to become aware of the condo crisis in Florida. There's been a few dozen videos to choose from in the past month but I don't know where to start, but here's the latest one I ran across from a day ago so it's the most up to date. There's nearly a million Florida condos that are going to be in danger of being evictions in the next quarter.

Do Not buy a Florida Condo until 2025! (Condo Crisis gets worse!)

The biggest mistake people make buying a condo is they only look at the unit itself and the price. Understanding the board, bylaws, insurance, and assessments is more important.

There's a YouTube channel I watch all the time from Florida where the guy talks about real estate prices and condos and he says there's a crisis going on in Florida. Nobody's buying and everybody's selling and he thinks it's because we're already in a recession. He has also pointed out that the car auctions are taking in far more repossessed cars to sell then since before covid. This one auction usually has one row of repossessed cars now it has three or four rows every two weeks. This is also a sign of a recession and the Press isn't covering it for obvious reasons. People are desperately trying to sell their homes, banks are repossessing their cars and they are using credit cards to buy groceries and to pay utility bills. All of these are signs of a really bad economy.

LOL..... Give me a break. You know damn well what he's doing; don't try to pretend you don't. It's classic EB tactics. He's done this before. Look at his statement above:

"This is also a sign of a recession and the Press isn't covering it for obvious reasons."

Ask him what those "obvious reasons" and he'll say, "I can't say or else I'll get suspended."

Because those "obvious reasons" have to do with politics, or else he would have said what the reasons are.

Regardless, this thread is about YouTube, not the economy or recessions, so either way it's a hijack (again, typical of EB).

Discussing a YT video in a YT thread is not hijacking at all. It is a valid discussion.

Sorry, but still do not see it as being political. We have a few people on here who will make what kind of ice cream you like political but they have to lean to behave.

I met a guy at the VFW who called himself a Constitutional Scholar and First Amendment Auditor. As he described it, it sounded interesting. Then he gave me his YouTube channel, and it is hundreds of videos of him screaming at cops and making ridiculous demands of VA and Post Office workers. He recently did 30 days in jail and celebrated his release by getting arrested outside the jail. He and his buds drive around listening to police scanners and then show up at scenes. Now some people follow them and try to interfere with them. It's nuts. A cop can be doing a traffic stop, and suddenly, five clowns run up to them, followed by another fix or six people to film the clown show.

I think hobbies like offshore power racing, owning race horses, or stunt flying, where the participants must be uber-rich, would be most attractive.
It's funny, but I've had men swoon when I show them a comic book, where 99% of women care more about the books worth than the book.
I have a rather plain-looking semi-precious tennis bracelet that isn't particularly attractive, but when I show people its COA and that Marylin Monroe wore it in a movie, women all want to try it on, and multiple men have tried to smell it.

Sometimes I watch these kinds of videos for an hour. The amount of work that went into the editing of these things, and they are so young and energetic. If this doesn't get you, it just doesn't affect you, you're almost dead. This one video got 64 million views.

Lately I've been watching dominoes falling videos. Maybe because I worked a Monte Carlo night recently where we had dominoes as a cultural game of the event.

This one is one of the smaller ones, but this girl has a few neat parts to her creation:

Who here doesn't have at least one YouTube channel they watch fairly regularly? How many of you AHEM how many of us that's better watch Miles to Memories Las Vegas twice a week?

Question about the domino one: what do all of those dominoes cost, much less the stands and other support equipment?

I've stopped watching "that's incredible" style videos unless they're several years old due to Ai letting people make all kinds of improbable happenings in daily life.

Every once in a while, I look at my list of channels and delete some I don't watch or found a better channel since.

I spend a fair amount of time hitting the "not interested" or "don't show me this channel again" to hopefully get rid of more suggestions.

There's something extremely problematic about the algorithm that's designed to give you 500 more similar suggested videos just 'cause you watched one video with a cabinet full of stuff falling on someone's head.

(btw, you could literally make an Ai domino reaction where each domino gets bigger and bigger until the last one is the size of the Empire State building if you wanted)

I subscribe to over 100 channels on YouTube, it has everything you could possibly want. It's the future of entertainment. They even have great movies, hundreds and hundreds and hundreds of free classic movies. Some of the highly followed food channels I have been subscribed to for seven or eight years in almost feel like these people are friends. Watching them travel around the world eating all kinds of different food. Car channels, History Channels, current event channels, there are people who are millionaires now because their YouTube channel has millions of followers. Andy Warhol once said that in the future everybody will be famous for 5 minutes and he wasn't far off. I spend an hour a day just watching police videos, they never get old. Mostly when I'm cooking and eating dinner, I look forward to it.

When I was a kid there was a toy called "Domino Alley" that had lots of stuff including easy-tilt assembly. At least one of the videos you can see a few domino toy sets like that in the background.

No matter. The &t= tag shows up when a video link is copied with a time index. It can be pruned out, and then the embedded video is cued to begin at the beginning.

Anybody else aware of the gigantic number of so-called influencers that are on YouTube, tick tock, and Instagram. There are tens of millions of them and 12 million are full time. That's a boggling number when you consider that probably 80% of them have nothing to say yet they still get followers. The statistics say that 80% of influences are women yet the male influencers are far more successful. That's because women concentrate mostly on fashion, style, and makeup and the men concentrate on things that are actually interesting. Very few of them make any money doing it but that's the reason they're doing it because they hope someday to make money.

It's hilarious the number of these people that video themselves at work and post online and then get fired. Saw some guy working at Pizza Hut who was bragging that if somebody doesn't pick up a pizza that they ordered the employee gets to take it home so he has his friend call in fake orders once a week and he gets a free pizza. And he was telling the world about this on YouTube and of course Pizza Hut fired him cuz somebody squealed. There's tons of videos like this of women crying and crying because they got fired from their job for videoing on company time. It stands to reason that with tens of millions of people doing this the majority of them are going to be blooming idiots. My experience over the decades has been the dumber a person is the more they think they have to say. Now somebody will point out that I have by far the most posts on this forum but of course that doesn't apply to me. Duh.

To be a viable influencer, you have to get a paid sponsorship.
Until then, you're just a "creator".

There is some sense in doing makeup tutorials. Cosmetics companies are willing to sponsor creators with a big enough following.

I've considered creating a new category called exfluencer. That's where someone pays me to take a brand of a competitor and do something totally stupid with it in a video. Like an evil Vince Offer.

"Pabst Blue Ribbon is popular among the hipster crowd. But watch what happens when I take it as an enema! On a city bus!"

Exfluencers will have a race to the bottom, like a gruesome accident with the world unable to look away. Way cooler than girls doing makeup!
