What's with all this diet talk horseplay? I thought this thread used to be about serious miscellaneous discussions about the important questions in life, such as

1) qdoba or chipotle?
2) Will you be going to the White House?
3) Would you hire GWAE to build a deck?
4) What is your stance on bathroom use?
5) Education about weather terms like point dew and line frost.

1) Both are disgusting!
2) I live in a white house, so yes.
3) He's taking to long.
4) Just got out of the terlet.
5) This time of year, the WIND CHILL is most important in this area.
DUHHIIIIIIIII HEARD THAT!

I think exercise is only secondary to diet, but is helpful. It's just like not spending money is easier than making more money, the spending is the diet and the exercise is the extra income. No matter what, much easier to control what goes in your mouth than trying to exercise it away. Exercise can only so so much. Somehow exercise can work by distracting yourself from even being able to eat, and that's where most benefit comes from. Building muscle helps burn calories though, so Id weight train, with a little cardiovascular training.

Neither are more important to the other in general. If you are very overweight, the weight is going to come off much easier if you have a better diet. If you're 10 or 20 pounds overweight, you can eat all the best foods (and you will lose some weight), but it'll be much easier by exercising.

It also comes down to how your habits are from what you should be doing. If you're working out 2 hours a day but wolfing down 12 pizzas every night, you're not gonna have an easy time taking off the weight. Likewise, if you eat all the healthiest foods but you do literally zero exercise (perhaps you're out of breath mid-cheeseburger, like I've done a time or two), those last few pounds aren't going to come off.

Of course, the one that's harder to maintain (diet vs exercise) is whichever one you hate more. But you're not going to get really "fit" if you don't exercise.

If you consume an extra 3000 calories, impractical and likely impossible to burn those calories off. Who would want to walk 14 hours even if you could. Even then, you're going to come across an injury eventually.

If you're not eating cake for breakfast you're doing it wrong. Scrape some frosting off if you want to be healthy. It's called the cake-eater diet.

Is cake eater mostly just a Minnesota term? We always used it to refer to the trust fund babies from the more wealthy suburbs. Mentioning "daddy's wallet" to them during a game would always get to them too. I haven't heard it anywhere else except the mn based mighty ducks movie.

If you actually want to be healthy, the best diet is the Chipotle diet. Eat one burrito with everything in it (except corn and lettuce, that's bad for you) for lunch and a burrito bowl for dinner (again, with everything except corn & lettuce).

Not sure why you think the lettuce is bad for you.

The corn, yes, along with the tortilla and rice.

Also only water to drink.

Lettuce is bad for you. Doesn't have no flavor. And it's a vegetable. It's just water turned into a green solid. As the ancient Hawaiians used to say, "I am not a vegetarian because I love animals; I am a vegetarian because I hate plants." -Ankit Jain

The French switched to corn as a monocrop and now their rats are homicidal and cannibalistic, however, I see no reason to not eat corn in moderation.

Lettuce is eighty percent water...that is why girls eat salads; its filling. Gots a few of them antioxidant thingies too. What you want are Bsix, Btwelve, and folate. Betaine will particularly affect homocysteine levels and aid in avoiding vascular diseases.

Weight loss thru exercise is fine but exercise is rather inefficient at consuming fat rather than glucose.

Local installed their first progressive vp. Walking up to it I noticed that the .25 royal is $7500 and it is a 8/6 job machine. I am thinking to myself, I guess I will be here awhile. I stick in $100 and hit max.. lose.. max... lose.. max pair of jacks. Wait why did it just pay me 20 credits... oh gtfo, max bet is 20 credits and you have to bet max for progressive. I think it is still positive but I am not rolled for a 20 credit VP game especially when there are 6 or 8 seats and they are all open. I will probably get stuck 5k and someone will jump in and steal it.

It's about 0.4% advantage off the top, which isn't too bad of a play if the game has a decent meter and decent slot club, could make it a 1.5% play. But if you're getting 0.1% CB and 0.2% meter, it ain't that great. Chances are it'll get pumped up pretty high because likely many will short coin the game, still adding to the progressive but not able to pop off the RF.

I saw those machines on fb introduced. Very expensive, but any lucky run will pay more. At least there's something new. Always hated seeing the nickel machines 20 coin max no progresive, ugly tables, and played 1 nickel just to deny the casino a sucker. Usually when I was just killing time.

I wonder how many people have blocked me now with all this diet talk. I am totally obsessed with this diet. I am literally driving everyone around me insane but I don't care. 19 pounds down and wife has lost 14.

You're good, here, I just wouldn't talk about it too much IRL, sounds preachy. Kind of like quitting smoking, tomorrow will make 28 days since I last smoked, but only those closest to me would know that because, again, I hate sounding preachy...so I don't talk about it. A friend of mine asked me why I am constantly chewing Trident White, so I told him.

Your diet sounds really good, and black coffee only comes with one calorie. My #1 rule is that no calories (besides coffee) should come from any kind of liquid. Liquor, of course, is an exception, but I only drink about once a week.

Here's what I have been eating basically every day:

Breakfast: Red Pepper, Coffee

Lunch: Black Coffee

Dinner: Two Eggs (Over Easy), Two Pieces of Potato Bread Toast (Aunt Millie's,, 60/cal per slice), One Red Pepper (Raw), Four Carrots (Raw), Two Beets (Fresh, Cooked, Plain---DELICIOUS!!!), Greens (Kale or Spinach, slightly wilted), Banana, Lean Protein (Can either be a breakfast ham, breakfast pork chop, fish or boneless skinless chicken breast).

After Workout: (I usually work out at night for about three hours): Coffee, Ham/Egg/Cheese wrap from Sheetz. (There's one near where I work out)

Aside from what's mentioned above, I only ever drink water.

Sunday is generally cheat day, but I don't go nuts with it. It just means I can have whatever I want for dinner.

I've been working out probably between four-six days a week. I don't go nuts with it, as long as I get at least four three-hour workouts in per week.

This post brought to you by Trident White and Aunt Millie's Bakery, you can visit them here:

Not really, but maybe they'll send me free stuff.

You're a Spartan, Mission.

Coffee is also good for your liver, which is a concern if you are overweight. Liver failure is a really terrible way to go, since a lot of pain killers are off the table.

Green tea is also very good for you. Since I'm gambling a lot less, I miss my green teas from cocktails.

I wouldn't worry about sweateners and stuff like that at this stage. That's like worrying about cigs when you are hooked on meth. Getting that hot chocolate out, and having a 24 hour fast day is a very nice step.

I guess I'm getting preachy, since I cracked last night and destroyed some pastor nachos. What kind of a preacher would I be if I wasn't a hypocrite?

I did take a moment from my feast to pray for the poor, ignorant Chipolte and QZNNwatever eaters.

Had fruit and Brazil nuts (very good for men) for breakfast.

I don't understand this. You hit max so if max bet was required you did it. What's so wrong?

Now as to dietary matters:
Black tea in the mornings, green tea in the afternoon, white tea in the evening.

I have never eaten at a qdoba or a chipotle.
I have built a deck
I wouldn't go to the white house
Use the bathroom when u have to go,or when you need to reload a teamate.
I like talking about the weather.

I've only eaten at Chipotle.
I've built a few decks, so no.
I don't plan to go to the White House, but I would not necessarily refuse to go.
I'm generally in favor of bathroom use.
I'm aware of some meteorological terms.

I don't plan to be overweight for long, and hopefully the coffee offsets the fact that I drink about once a week.

I forgot to mention tea, I occasionally drink an Earl Grey or a Peppermint tea. If I do, it's usually an hour after dinner.

For GWAE, I agree with that. I don't use any sweeteners, myself, but then, I've always liked my coffee black.

I have not had a fast food hamburger in about five years until yesterday. I bought a double cheeseburger at McDonald's yesterday and I was surprised that it was very tasty. Unfortunately, my blood pressure spiked to 193/131 within twenty minutes of eating it. I may wait another few years before the next one.

Yuck. It'd have to be way over base. WI has 9/5 Jacks or the Spielo machines for $1.25/hand, though it's not a Progressive. The best game at the Island, for quarters, is Ugly Ducks which is also $1.25/hand.

Many months ago I saw that 9/5 game and was confused. Didn't expect to see it but tbh I would rather play a bartop with crappy over those machines. The graphics are horrible and it makes my arms tired.

Okay, I get it now. You made reasonable, but erroneous, assumptions and were spending more than you thought for the payouts that were available. So I imagine the odds of the events taking place were known to you it was just that they were charging you way more than you thought reasonable.

I've always found all these 'lines' on slot machines confusing. I've been told that players at the various Dotty places used to page through the games available and instruction pages regularly whereas "real casino" machines involve people who usually just sit down and start playing.

With the rate at which new games are introduced and older machines are re-positioned around a casino, I guess it required more vigilance than it should. I''ve made similar mistakes at the local Seminole Casino where Baccarat signs are color coded, but the same color can indicate 20 minimum or 40 minimum whereas a differnt color indicated higher baccarat limits that were totally out of my league.

I hate that, when the colors on the table limit sign aren't accurate.

Red: $5 or $10 min
Orange: $15 min (never seen a $20, but I'd say orange too).
Green: $25 min (maybe $50)
Blue: $100 min (maybe $50)
Black: $100 min
Purple/pink: $200, $300, or $500 min
Yellow: $1000 min

I hate seeing green signs and sitting down to realize it's a $100 game. Dafaq.

In the past, I'd sit at an orange or red sign and realize the min is $50. Darn casinos trynna trick me.

Looks like some stupid restaurants and maybe stores are gonna be closed tomorrow to support this nonsense. Any restaurant or whatever I figure out that closes tomorrow in support of this, i will not eat there again, ever. Even chipotle.

There are many paintings that have eclipsed the $70 million mark. You can get uncooked rice for around 35 cents a pound. So a single painting can be traded for TWO HUNDRED MILLION pounds of rice to feed the hungry. Not sure what made me think of this.

I find it increasingly hard to tell when people are joking. Since we merged the presidents, I guess to keep the banks and post offices open (or out of racism?), I can think of only two one man holidays: Columbus and MLK. I guess Chavez day in some areas.

Columbus Day is racist against white people?

If you are joking, never mind.

Columbus is neither American, nor did he discover this land. In fact, he never stepped onto any soil here.

And it's no joke. Why are there no national holidays named after a white, U.S.A. born American? Just a curiosity thing. Not complaining.

I don't think there are any for women either. I'm not really into quotas and identity politics, myself, so it doesn't bug me.

Regardless of his merits, Columbus was white. So he wasn't ruled out on the basis of race, which seems to be your suggestion.

Presidents day used to be for Washington. It's his b-day. They crammed a lot of other presidents on to save space. (In some states, it's still just Washington https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington's_Birthday)

MLK day isn't for a white because MLK wasn't white.

Those are the holidays for our country's "discoverer," most important leaders, and the guy given credit for bringing it to some level or racial equality and unity. No other major holidays for individuals exist, I think.

These things seem pretty obvious to me. But maybe we should have a special holiday set aside for some random American born white, in the name of anti-racism.

Where are they going to find the smell of a fishmonger now?

The link is to a home page for a local classifieds (with emphasis on somewhat seedy matters). So I have no idea what this has to do with fishmongers but nowadays upscale fish restaurants tend to have a live fish sales area even if its makes very little money and much of the fish cooked in the restaurant are from other sources.

Yes the link is local, but all the adult advertising is gone. By referencing the smell of fishmongers, I was alluding to the stink of the escorts.

Ben Franklin needs a holiday. He was the coolest, equal to Thomas Jefferson.

Btw, the woman who killed Kim's half brother.

That's either the best or worst prank show ever.
