If cards weren't shuffled right, this would break the streak of cards by the time they reached the dealer though, when short handed.

Which was a 7 card flush, worth more than 3000 dollars to me had I gotten it at the level I was betting. I came unglued for the one time ever playing a game and screamed at him. Embarrassed myself beyond belief, but was so angry I had to cash out and change games.

What? The saintly green-inker lost her temper once! Well, Harrah's has forgiven you, we here all forgive you and I'm sure FrGamble will make it official in his prayers; so have a guilt-free 2017!

I didn't read anything other than what was quoted but u assume he is talking about a stacked deck. 1 chage in the order would disrupt the stacked deck.

I was thinking if say six cards to a flush were in order, if each hand is dealt whether played or not, they would be split between player hands and not reach the dealer. If only played hands were dealt, the order would be intact one handed vs. dealer.

Got a bitter sweet birthday present today from wife. I mentioned to her today that steeler game is Sunday at 1 so don't make any plans for me. She tells me that I could just record it. I laugh and say no, bla bla bla. She gives me my bday present which is 2 tickets to penguins game on Sunday at 1 that are 4 rows from ice behind penalty box. Damn her.

Not even like I can record game since there is no way in hell I can go through a pittsburgh sporting event without them mentioning the steeters game. Hell they may even show highlights during intermission.

What is the game wherein the dealer deals initial hands to EVERY spot on the table even if no one is sitting at a particular spot? I played it once and enjoyed it but my New Year's Day mind is drawing a complete blank.

Quite a conundrum. Do you think she might be agreeable to you selling those tickets as long as you promise to use the proceeds thereof to obtain tickets for a different Pens game?

I do know the guy who invented the my pillow also invented the national sleep institute that he quotes saying his pillow is the best. Maybe it is, but talk about bias...

Maybe you should try it. Don't they have a ey back guarantee?

Mustaches alone, so creepy. As part of a goatee, cool, but without the chin beard, creepy. So funny how it turns out, those who want to wear a mustache, do so because they think it will make them appear macho and manly, but the opposite happens.

Very few people can pull off a mustache. But most can't. IMO the best style is the short cut 'stache where you only have hair right beneath the nose (not spreading out to end of lips).

If over 50 moustache is acceptable and normal IMO. Apparently it's also a hipster thing, idk. Dangerous for the hipsters though, as it can be difficult for the normies to tell if it's a hipster, pedophile, or hipster pedophile.

I forgot Chaplin had a Hitler 'stache.

And yes, MC is right. Older people can have a mustache.

When I was a kid one Sunday we went to church and somehow my brother and I found clear scotch tape a while before the service started. We had the brilliant idea of giving ourselves Hitler 'staches with a black sharpie we found. Dad was not impressed, but then realized we used scotch tape and didn't put the sharpie directly onto our upper-lip mustache area.

Sen. D'amato kicked off Jet Blue, says getting off the plane shows them, they can't treat you this way.

They have people by the balls, fearful, knowing a vastly higher ticket price rebooking will only hurt you. Airlines, hotels, casinos, definitely areas deregulation hasn't helped the people. Any time, there is such a vast disrespect for customers, it shows as a country, something isn't being done right. The big companies usually have their ways of hiding the realities from VIPs, but not today. D'Amato really was a good senator back in the day, need more people like him around.

70 year old woman in Reno dies of untreatable infection.

Quote:

In their search for a potential cure for her infection, doctors later found out that the cause was resistant to all 14 antibiotics the facility had to offer. Further testing at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention confirmed that it was, in fact, resistant to all 26 antibiotics in the U.S.

We ain't done for yet, but that's not really good news either.

They say Doctors shouldn't hand out antibiotics so frequently, but if everyone would follow a simple rule of taking their entire prescription of antibiotics, that would help greatly as well. Can't just stop when your junk stops stinging from your last prostitutional encounter (for instance).

It would only take about ten percent of PTs to quit early and we would still have the levels of resistance that we have now.

There were probably five or six effective agents that could have been used for this PT but doctors do not want to use simple effective remedies known for centuries, only complex patented drugs that they can prescribe and thus earn brownie points from Big Pharma.

There are plenty of antibiotic resistant bacteria out there. No replacement for antibiotics and drug companies have given up on the drugs usually only used at end of life. They basically have no public or governmental pressure to research noble drugs. Nanos will be the only way, but just science fiction afaik.

I recently toured Nice France and when I tried to enter a casino there they demanded to see my passport before allowing me entry. It was in my hotel so I couldn't go in. I've never played in a foreign casino before (I'm from he U.S.) Is this typical for foreign countries? I've never seen anything like that in the U.S. Maybe because of the recent terror attack in Nice? Not sure what's going on.

Happened to me in Ireland. I didn't ask specifics but the way the doorman acted seemed to be that you had to be a member of the casino in order to play there - but they would let tourists in (probably depending on how you look.)

Nice and Paris are not really interested in solving your having to piss problem. If you have to piss you're going to pay. And if you're a credit card guy with no cash you really have a problem. You can piss either at a bathroom with attendants collecting at the door or by having to buy something at a restaurant. If you want to piss easily and freely you need to vacation somewhere else. It's not the job of the French to make it easy for you to piss. They have other priorities.

I don't seem to recall having any problems when I visited. Of course, that was 20 years ago. I didn't have to go as often back then! :P

Try New Orleans. I was there for NYE (again, 20 years ago). It was very crowded on Bourbon Street. I asked a cop where I could go. He said, "Just find a dark alley!"

Heck, South Beach in Miami had a restaurant with two employees at the entrance and a third about forty feet into the place... each doing nothing but chasing out toilet seekers. Three employees all night long exclusive duty... must really mean alot to them.

(I may have told this story already)

I was walking into a Vegas Albertsons one evening, and this guy was walking kind of hurriedly toward me to the door, and all of sudden oranges started dropping out of his bulging shirt. Of course when he made a desperate attempt to catch the first few, it unleashed all the rest under his shirt and they all went bouncing every which way. Then he just made a dash the rest of way to door. I think he managed to save about 3.

I agree with that 100%! People say, 'Well, someone has to work the U-Scan," yeah, one employee for six U-Scan terminals. The only time I think the things are justified is when you have a store that simply doesn't have the physical space to have enough check-out lanes open during prime time, but I've only seen one such store in this area. Six U-Scan terminals take up roughly the space of two full check out lanes, maybe three, but during prime time at this one store there are lines for the U-Scans and the registers, every one of which is open.

So, if a store has U-Scans that are actually about customer convenience rather than saving money because they don't have to pay human beings, then that is justifiable. I'll never use them regardless of the length of register line in which I have to wait, except in the morning when they are the only thing open.

I don't think U-Scans should be open, however, unless every single cash register/check out in the place is manned by an employee. Again, first thing in the morning might be an exception, or late at night, when you'd only have one register open anyway.

My biggest gripe about supermarkets is that the express lines should have metal bars that make it too narrow to push a full size cart into. 10-15- or 20 items or less line should not be violated!

I could see that, theft both intentional or unintentional. By unintentional, I mean at the time it occurred. A common one of these (having been a cashier when I was a kid) is a small item getting stuck under the child seat part and unnoticed until loading stuff in the car, but the most common one is a large item in the bottom of a cart, usually a cube of pop or case of water.

I suppose it becomes intentional when the person discovers it and does not go back in and pay for it, but most people simply aren't that scrupulous, "Oh, I spend enough in there." It happens somewhat frequently on big orders even when you have a customer AND a cashier.

Boxes of diapers, too, forgot those. Same as the water and pop, bottom part of the cart.

The worst part is most stores have a policy that will not allow the cashier to turn the person to a different line, people who know this often deliberately use the express if there are long lines elsewhere.

Frozen stuff is a pain because of the code getting frosty, anything in a bag, really, because the barcode needs flattened out properly. Cashiers do it so much and see certain items frequently enough that they can do it almost immediately as if it were any other item, they know precisely where on the bag the barcode is. Don't even think about it. Automatic.

Produce is also a pain when using the U-Scans, the cashiers know the codes for the most common stuff, so that's instant. With the U-Scans, on the other hand, you have to go through the entire stupid menu to get it to charge you for a yellow pepper. That is also where a lot of the theft comes from, by the way, people will often buy more expensive produce items (tomatoes on the vine) and just click the picture for Roma Tomatoes, or something like that, when given the prompt. Even if you wanted to get them for theft/shoplifting, short of an admission, good luck proving intent on that one. Another one is getting a bunch of organic stuff and charging yourself for regular.

Alot of supermarkets now have cameras or scanners down near the floor to see if anything is at the bottom of the cart.

Dang! Can you imagine how much inventory they had to be dropping to justify the costs of implementing that? Other than the area with the tobacco-related stuff and the alcohol, we didn't even have a, 'Loss prevention,' in our store (a franchise of a major chain) with exception to our own eyeballs. Eventually, even the room that had all of the tobacco stuff was closed and all of that stuff moved behind the office area, when that happened, sure the tobacco stuff was more secure but the alcohol stopped being at all meaningfully watched.

In any case, the owner always said (based on inventory audits) that we weren't losing enough to justify the expense of better (read: any depending on where in the store) CCTV and the cost of a dedicated loss prevention staff.

Frozen stuff is a pain because of the code getting frosty, anything in a bag, really, because the barcode needs flattened out properly.

LOL I was trying to imply that the frozen cherries were in my trousers and all I ever scanned was one jug of water. It was a joke. I don't even use those uscan things except at Home Depot where you gots no choice.

The absolute WORST part is some stores have a sign in express lane stating, "15 items or less"

It should be fewer, not less.

I consider that an advantage play. I always put our diapers in the bottom. About once a quarter the cashier forgets and who am I to tell them how to do their job.

I've always been one of those people who look guilty when accused or insinuated guilty. Hate leaving Wal-Mart, always looking like I stole something, just hate being stared down like that. I told a lady once, pay me if you want my time to look at my receipt, my time isn't free and I'm not donating it to them. Maybe for now on I'll just tell them I've stolen plenty, then run out. It's because of those self-checkouts, they have to behave like every customer is a thief.

When they ask to see your receipt, say, "No thank you" and keep walking.

I'm sorry, I should've gotten it. I just took it literally.

Home Depot has those now? Hopefully not all of them. I was just in one two months ago and they didn't.
