Did Tim Horton's ban you?

No I am just tired of buying stale donuts from Dunkin donuts

And their market penetration is so much that most times they are the only choice for donuts.

Their donuts insidiously look fresh and delicious on the rack. Then you buy them and the bread is stale

A donut is one of those foods that I have zero assumptions of quality about.

I mean, it's a ******* donut. It's junk food. If you pay 99 cents for what is basically a mass produced piece of cake you get what you get.

What time do you usually go ?

I’d say that anytime from 6am until noon or so there’s a high donut turnover so they’d usually be fresh.

But late at night you’re probably getting a donut that’s been sitting in the rack for hours.

Anytime after 3pm and they are stale

Mind you Krispy Kreme donuts stay fresh well over 24 hours and up to 3 days in a fridge

Y'all math and gambling nerds better be watching McMillions on HBO.

It's about how that McDonald's Monopoly game was rigged and cheated on for years. Only one episode out so far, but I think it's gonna be a six episode series.

It's kind of old news to me. Must be at least 2 years ago there was a written expose in detail, think it was a series of articles, might have become a book. It was pretty interesting at the time.

Quote: wiki

In 2000, the U.S. promotion was halted after fraud was uncovered. A subcontracting company, Simon Marketing (then a subsidiary of Cyrk), which had been hired by McDonald's to organize and promote the game, failed to recognize a flaw in its procedures. Chief of security Jerome P. Jacobson was able to remove the most valuable game pieces, which he then passed to associates who would redeem them and share the proceeds.[6][7] According to Jacobson, his disloyalty began when executives began re-running randomized draws to ensure high-level prizes went to areas in the United States rather than Canada.[7] He began stealing winning game pieces after a supplier mistakenly provided him the anti-tamper seals needed to secretly make the swap. Jacobson sold winning pieces for a percentage of the winnings in advance,[7] initially to friends and family but expanding nationwide after a chance meeting in the Atlanta airport between Jacobson and Gennaro "Jerry" Colombo.[8] Colombo would later appear in a McDonald's commercial promoting the game.[9]

Jacobson's associates won almost all of the top prizes, including cash and cars, between 1995 and 2000, including McDonald's giveaways that did not have the Monopoly theme. The associates netted over $24 million. While the fraud appeared to have been perpetrated by only one key employee of the promotion company, and not by the company's management, eight people were originally arrested, leading to a total of 21 indicted individuals, with members of the Colombo Mafia family believed to have been involved in the fraud at some point.[10]

In S African diamond mines they
don't need cameras. They do

Some have. Like Fred Wells:
Quote: History.com's "Today in History" for January 25

...On this day in 1905, at the Premier Mine in Pretoria, South Africa, a 3,106-carat diamond is discovered during a routine inspection by the mine's superintendent. Weighing 1.33 pounds, and christened the "Cullinan," it was the largest diamond ever found. Frederick Wells was 18 feet below the earth's surface when he spotted a flash of starlight embedded in the wall just above him...

It would be tough to swallow (or otherwise conceal) that bad boy.

That's what I said, it's raw diamonds.
Some are small enough to conceal
if you know what you're looking at.

I think there was a scene in the last
season of Deadwood where they
were doing cavity searches at the
end of a gold mine shift. Found a
guy with a nugget up his butt and
shot him on the spot. Pretty good
message to the other miners.

Lol I will dream about new employees. We just took on a new client. I estimated it would take 3 extra employees so I hired 3. The mistake I made is that it takes closer to 5. Once the new people are more efficient 3 will be fine but until then it will be a struggle. Going to hire 1 more person next week and hopefully that will help.

Isn't this why high-speed chases and "reality" tv shows like Suvivor or Pawn Stars are popular? There is a blurring of fantasy and reality in "infotainment" .
I think telling tall tales goes way back to our ancestors sitting around a campfire recounting the days adventures. It has moved on to the internet, and is so prevalent that there is a term for it: Fake News.

REAL ID is necessary to fly even on domestic flights beginning October 1 of this year
..........................................

your Driver's License may not be sufficient to allow you to board a plane in the U.S., even on a domestic flight, depending on your State's compliance and when your license was issued

even if your State is compliant, as most States now are, your Driver's License may not be an acceptable REAL ID if it was issued before your State became compliant

there are other acceptable documents such as a U.S. Passport that will allow you to board

my State and most probably your State has a website indicating how to upgrade to REAL ID if you need to do that

I don't know if this is true, but, I was told by the passport person you would need your star/real ID to enter government buildings and there was going to be some law saying you had to have one.
Again, this is what I was told, I have no idea if it's true, I'm just going to get one either way.

So what's the purpose of the real ID in the first place? All conspiracy theories welcome.

The purpose is to have all states use the same screening and security. Right now all states do things differently. In PA if you have unpaid traffic tickets they wont let you renew it. Sone states wont renew because of back child support. I believe now if you have unpaid in Texas and try to get ID in PA it will get rejected

If someone gives you a check for chrismas and you forget about it until today. Should you cash it? The person who gave it to me is not the type of person to balance a check book so he probably has no idea that it is outstanding.

Ask the person if they have the funds in their account to cover the amount, then cash it.

I would call the person and tell them that I just found the check they sent me for Christmas and would they like me to return it? Hopefully they will just say to go ahead and deposit it.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
