Why would you choose to shut down the strip which is not only one of the busier stretches of road in the country (I suppose), but also the divider between the 2 halves of the city? Basically, the whole city was crippled to indulge a bunch of narcissists who can't run without ruining everyone elses day.
Ubered a couple who missed their flight because it took an hour, no joke, to get out of the Venetian. So they were out at least $500. I wonder how many others?
How many people had 2 hour plus drives home from work?
How much gas was burned? How many total hours of people's time was wasted?
Insane.
Going outside is dangerous and costly, especially during the day. Your post is direct proof of that. It's bad news bears.
Wasn't there an air show this weekend?
For those of you that haven't tried the Jazz Brunch at the Country Club, I would recommend trying it soon as Wynn is going to start construction in January and it will definitely defeat one of the best features of it by ruining the beautiful view.

How do you equate running a marathon with narcissism? Why are you mad at the runners? You should be mad at the city and the marathon organizers. The runners have absolutely zero control over the route.
I mean, what could be more "look at me!" than shutting down The Strip so that everyone could watch you run down it?
I'd be embarrassed to participate in something like that.
'Sides, ain't you never heard "there is no such thing as bad publicity?
Quote: RigondeauxMaybe they are wrong, but the organizers think they need to shut down the city so that the runners get to be at the center of everything, accommodated by everybody who who is forced stop and regard their achievement, like it or not.

I'm assuming the organizers do it that way to generate money. People come from all over the world for those marathons. If they just had the route through some random neighborhoods, they would probably have a lot less participants. It's also probably generating a lot of money for the city and even some for the casinos. Everybody wins except the people trying to drive around...
Anyway, I usually avoided driving on LV Boulevard on general principle as much as possible, event or not.
I'm looking for something that's semi-useful yet also kind of "generic" that isn't a tech degree.

IMO, yes. Depending on what you're hoping to do long-term.
1. Shows more than a high school education. Looks good on a resume, where education usually gets listed first, that you took the time.
2. Shows some knowledge and interest in management general skills and practices.
3. Helps some with entry-level jobs, but helps more later, if you're trying to advance within a company. You will get education credits when they're ranking candidates for promotion. Specifically if you're trying to move into management for government, banking, many corporations, it will help a lot.

Slightly over 26 miles. So yeah, 157 mph or so sounds reasonable. When does the DJATC express depart for LA?
I would be doubtful. Depends perhaps on the reputation of the school. It might not be a negative but I'm not sure it would be worth the time since so many schools crank out graduates, often under accelerated programs involving high credit loads, credit for life experiences and mere challenging of a course by simply paying the tuition and taking the final exam.Quote: TigerWuIs an Associate's Degree in Business Administration worth anything? People with tech degrees are now said to 'age out' rapidly as programming languages and styles change.
Some people just take intensive coding courses from online schools and get a better return on their investment than if they had gone for a full degree.

Well, I can tell you exactly what the (non-gen-ed) courses would be:
Required:
Financial Accounting
Managerial Accounting
Computer Concepts and Applications
Principles of Macroeconomics (S)
Principles of Microeconomics (S)
And Four to five courses from this list:
Payroll Administration
Introduction to Business
Introduction to Entrepreneurship
Introduction to Computer Programming
MS Office
C# Programming
Elementary Statistics
Calculus for Business, Life, and Social Sciences
Principles of Management
Principles of Marketing
I highly recommend the AARP program to all. Parts of it are dumb but some are very enlightening.
The LG phone I bought there, I've never seen anything as good or better on the shelves.
Quote: onenickelmiracleI think Walmart is in trouble. Thought they were supposed to have just in time stocking. I have noticed if you buy them out, they don't replace your purchase for many days, perhaps 4-5. There is a product I really like called Starburst gummies, I buy all I can when I go, because they're so delicious. I'll keep coming back, day after day, nothing there. Same with other products. I'm thinking if they're not able to replace these things in 2-3 days, their suppliers might be giving them trouble. Haven't heard anything about it, maybe it's only Walmarts attempt to push sales online. Yet if that's true, by getting people into the store, they'll just be unhappy looking for anything on the aisles.

I have been a huge Walmart supporter for the last 20 years but I probably only go there twice a year now. I can't imagine not buying almost everything online anymore.
Quote: GWAEI haven't watched any Thursday night games this year but since steelers are playing I will watch. They seem to be using mostly sky cams. To me this makes the game unwatchable. I dont want to watch it like a video game. I might have to turn this off.
I like it because it allows you to see the defensive packages and the blocking schemes. Traditional broadcasts only let you follow the ball.

I like it for pre snap but once the ball is snapped I have a hard time following the play
Sucks because I have been ordering all the cat food and litter online but now hit the store to get the bisque.
That's serious coin for a painting of a transvestite holding an unfilled snow globe.

I love it as it makes you feel your in the game sometimes I think you could do more of it and actually find the point when it came to be just the right amount of coverage for that style of camera work. Not sure how that would be gauged but I would be willing to sit through a couple of games to find out.
I have never played the game and will never get to play the game, so this is great for a fan such as myself, as a person from another country the viewing experience is what makes this game and college football a global phenomenal package.
I can’t wait for next year to get here soon enough as I look forward to another college game here in Sydney
On a side sad note love them or not Mike and Mike last show tonight ( our time) I really enjoyed the over thinking they do and loved getting the information after game weekend I really could listen and watch their show for hours as I cannot get enough of the nfl and college league
I’m liking Steelers for Thursday night as well.
Thanks kind regards
Impulse buying is apparently higher in the store than online.
I never thought it would be possible but I've switched to an instant.
It's called White Coffee and comes from Malaysia/Indonesia - an Indonesian friend gave it to me to try.
The beans are roasted a different way and they come out lighter in color. Someone opened a White Coffee shop in NYC.
They call it 3 in 1 because it includes a small amount of cream and sugar although you can get it with no sugar
It's very strong and very smooth. I was shocked at how good it is.
I believe the best brand is Aik Cheong. You can't get it at the American chain grocery stores. You have to go to an Asian store or the internet.
I'll never clean a dirty filter again.
I need to create a website for my new company. Can anyone recommend a site to use. I only know of word press and squarespace. I do not have a lot of experience but this is only going to be about a 6 page site with no shopping cart or anything. Maybe I should just hire someone to do it? not sure even how much that cost.
Quote: GWAElil that coffee sounds expensive. I will stick with folgers.
I buy a package that contains `15 packets for $6.99 which works out to 47 cents per cup. And no cost for cream or sugar.
It's way better than Folgers. But suit yourself.
Ugh, I totally agree. I don't mind it once in a while or on replay, but I don't want to see that perspective on every down.Quote: GWAEI haven't watched any Thursday night games this year but since steelers are playing I will watch. Collinsworth mentioned that it is the same perspective you get playing Madden. So I see why they do it -- to appeal to the younger demo -- but I think this will annoy their traditional fans.
What I don't get is why don't they broadcast/stream both camera angles? I catch the broadcast over-the-air. The local NBC affiliate has 3 channels (12.1, 12.2, 12.3). If NBC would broadcast two feeds, I'm sure most (all?) markets could accommodate it. Or, broadcast the traditional camera angle and stream the sky-cam.
Hell, NBC, you didn't have a problem "Triplecasting" the Olympics, and that was 25 years ago. (Well, no problem other than hemorrhaging a boatload of cash doing it.)

3 in 1 coffee is very common throughout Southeast Asia, it's made by many different companies. To me they taste like coffee with Cremora and sugar.

Sales up, profits up, stock price way up in the day since your post. Other companies wish they were in half as much trouble......

I complained last week when I had to buy a large folgers for 8.99 cause it wasn't on sale. I think I get about 60 small pots out of that.
Its the water quality, the avoidance of metal, the temperature of the water and the time in contact with the coffee beans.
The tastiest is likely to be made with steam rather than hot water.
Really fine beans are of no interest to major brands that want a uniform taste.
Even the battery acid from vending machines can be just fine under certain circumstances.
High end chocolate cafes always offer excellent coffee even though they make their money on the chocolate.
As usual, it was horrible.
Starbucks, IMO is the most overrated business in the history of the world and produces the most overrated coffee in the history of the world.

Sure, it's not this:

Reusable filters. Usually a plastic and/or wire mesh screen. It's a lot less wasteful that way.

My wife isn't, and for some time she's wanted to buy a Kia.
I remember all the troubles they had in their early years here, but recently the quality and product offerings have been kicked up a couple notches.
Finally they are making a car I'd consider buying: a worthy competitor in most ways for BMW and Audi, at much less cost.
Kia Stinger GT.

The tempo of this song is seriously f***ing with my head. Is it just me or does it continuously change? I understand it may change between the club scenes vs whatever Michael Bolton is doing.....but it seems like it's constantly changing all throughout. =(

Those two brothers from Jersey who became car brokers for Kia when kia was just starting out trying to sell cars in this country made out like bandits. Their yachts are outrageously expensive.

Haha... I love that song. I think I know what you're talking about with the tempo, but I think it's just the cadence of their rapping that's weird sometimes.
