MDawg should not be a moderator. It would curtail his edgy, prodding, agitating, posts…. which add great flavor to the board. Being Green stifles a lot of what you can say.
Believe him or not, MDawg is certainly among the most interesting posters. I for one love his food pictures, suite pictures. Does that make me a ‘fan’ by the way?

I never asked to be a moderator.
MrV started the thread.
AxelWolf coming in and saying that I have done "various uncouth things" was just Axel being Axel saying whatever the f he wants to say, thinking he can get away with it, but it was an insult nonetheless.
Dieter should have handled the matter privately, but instead made a public spectacle of the matter and even said that the uncouth insult appears to be "based in fact" which is as much to say that he too is insulting me. Both should be suspended.
I don't know what Dieter was thinking in the first place allowing someone to come up with "examples" of why so and so committed uncouth acts, is stupid, is delusional, or whatever, as a defense to an insult. Let alone inviting that sort of thing publicly.
The reason V suggested I become a moderator is partly because he believes that once I'm firmly ensconced as Admin I'd then encourage my high rolling friends and associates to join this forum and create their own content. Then we would have MULTIPLE threads with food, suites, chips, cash. Of all of the gambling forums, because this one is the most regulated and respectful, this is the only one high rolling people I know would be inclined to join, but not if someone is allowed to come along and label them as "uncouth." 🤣

It is well established in this forum that a personal insult is not allowable simply because it is the truth. Ex: You may not call someone fat even if he is obese. It is a personal insult and truthfulness is not a loophole. Ex: If you call someone "stupid and delusional" we are not going to allow you to make posts arguing against a suspension by citing examples to prove that he really is stupid and delusional. That would be madness, that is not the kind of forum that we want.
If your post is intended to show contempt for another person in this forum or to hurt his/her feelings, then don't post it. It's a simple rule.

UA string was a later added weapon and was as useful as IP address, in spotting some socks where IP address was inconclusive. Our banning policy meant that we often KNEW that an ID was an undesirable before we had enough evidence to warrant a ban. Hence some obvious socks SEEMED to take a while to get rooted out.Quote: Mission146

I remember trying to use a VPN for my Nelvin Account, I was thinking,"I'm protected by the VPN, the Admins will NEVER see that Nelvin is my Sock as my IP address will be completely hidden, 😏, but I did not do the VPN correctly at all and Nelvin was banned after exactly one post.

We only have access to IP information, which we use to help detect socks. I have never used it for any other reason.
Let me say that moderators are not chosen based on polls or public discussion. Usually someone asks to be one privately and then the matter is discussed. In some cases, I have reached out to members in good standing to ask them to consider it.
I do not address who is and isn't a secret moderator. I also reserve the right to lie about it.
Finally, the only exception to the rule against quoting from other forums was for the purpose of MDawg Results Thread and only for the purpose of researching his results. I think we can consider the evidence gathering period closed on that, so there is no longer an exception at all.

I regret that my posting this poll / thread has resulted in some getting a trip to the WoV Dunking Stool.
My motivation was not to embarrass, but to explore the possibility which a mod raised and. to "stir the pot" a bit via posting what I thought could be a lively poll.
MDawg is a stickler for rules and he seems to be quite "black and white" when it comes to meting out suspensions; if he sees a need he argues for its imposition.
He is an attorney; perhaps he'd welcome being "elevated" to "judge / executioner?"
The Wiz indicated the mod positions are not decided by polls; that is good news for MDawg and his fans as most members who voted seem to believe he would be unwelcome as a moderator.
Now we know.
Maybe the thread should be closed now?

Dieter self-suspended because he made a post stating that Axelwolf's allegations about uncouth behavior by another member were based on fact. When Axel got suspended for that personal insult, Dieter felt a need to self-suspend.
My last self-suspension from WOV, I spent time drinking wine with my wife, binge-watched some TV shows and movies, read some good books and played some poker. I feel real friendship for Dieter but he's out-maneuvered me this time. I hope he enjoys his time off.

Cents(2): If someone like MDawg or Nathan ever became a moderator of this site I would instantly delete every post and self ban from the site perma.

The WOV system doesn't allow that sort of thing, burning everything behind you as you retreat.
I understand that ibeatyouraces did that to many of his posts as he fled the forum in rage.
Also, I came across this deleted post of SiegFriedRoy that opens his thread, among other deletions

This post I am writing could go on either Discussion 3 about the Suspension List, Nathan's Corner, or this one. I decided to put it in this one. It seems that Mdawg is being harassed, insulted, trolled, and bullied REALLY hard lately. It's REALLY uncomfortable to see. 🥶🤯😱😳😐🤨💡🤔 It's not even light hearted stuff like,"Please log out and go to sleep, you silly goose, LMAO! 🤣 It's downright NASTY stuff. YIKES! Before any questions this post, this entire post is 100 percent my thoughts and feelings. 💡

I had no idea that the "Should Mdawg be a Moderator?" Poll thread was "to explore the possibility which a mod raised and. to 'stir the pot' a bit via posting what I thought could be a lively poll." I was personally SHOCKED by how not even HALF of the poll voted for Mdawg to be a Moderator. I think Mdawg would make a great Moderator and I was shocked that 16 people voted no and only 5 people voted yes. I honestly thought it would be the other way around. Mdawg has proven he has a VERY good temperament, such as when some TROLL harassed him and Mdawg calmly said,"We nailed this one on the nose!" And HE got the Suspension, and not the TROLL who harassed him. Mdawg didn't throw a fit over being unfairly Suspended, he calmly took the unfair Suspension in stride. That's someone who would make a great Moderator. 😀

Hey come on, I also got a "Only if he bribes us first," a "What's in it for me" and a "Maybe" - that's as many as 8 votes then.

As far as buying the website, I suppose its value going forward depends not just on its traffic but on whether Wizard will continue to produce especially WOO content. I knew about WOO before I ever realized there was a WOV forum.
I suppose they could be separated? Procure WOV alone?

As I pointed out above, the question is not the imaginary amount R.omes would turn down to have us moderators, but the imaginary amount he would be willing pay us to make sure we were not.
If R.omes offers 500K or anything decent (I doubt he will, I don't believe that he would turn down 500K to buy his vote either), then I will go to Wizard and I am sure I can work something out where he and I split the money in exchange for his not making me a moderator. Money talks, and B.S. walks.
So - let's see how serious you are R.omes or if that declining 500K was all talk.
In any case, I'm up to 15 potential votes! now. A few more and we might even be within a margin of polling error.
