Quote: AZDuffmanCops are probably pretty good at ferreting out stories like this. People fake hate crimes all the time. This was so over the top that even a junior detective should have been smelling rat as he took the report. Dietrich and Wojo would have figured it out right off!
I figured it out at "2 white guys walking around the streets of Chicago at 1am with a noose in their hands".
Quote: AxelWolfHe is not too smart since I hear he paid his accomplices 35k to beat him up.
It was $3500, not $35K. They would have
done it for $350 probably.
Cops take police reports for a living. After
the first few hundred, they can spot a
phony almost every time. There's a
certain way people talk when filing, and
if this person is different, they smell a rat.
Quote: AxelWolfHe is not too smart since I hear he paid his accomplices 35k to beat him up. He could have had 2 white guys beat his ass for free and made this all real.
Oh boy! You be gonna spending some time in diversity training with Mr. Brown for dat one!

If Blacks are not being repressed then the whole race-industrial complex falls to pieces. No more shakedowns, no more money. No more attention.
No, it is not just you.
I have no idea what that is. Link please.Quote: AZDuffmanOh boy! You be gonna spending some time in diversity training with Mr. Brown for dat one!

To top it off, Smollett wrote the brothers
a check, so the cops have a paper trail.
I'm wondering just how bright Smollett
is. Fox said a few days ago they were
standing by his story and he would be
back next season. Today they're saying,
yeah, probably not gonna happen.

But we all know he doesn't really believe half the things he posts...

Are you saying it is not an insult? Really?

I absolutely am saying that.

I don't think you should be suspended. There are many such insults hurled around of that nature. I can tell you if you tell me that you don't think I believe half the things I say, I would consider it an insult. Not that I would want anything done about it.

So are you saying the kid from Covington is a racist?
Do you have some kind of proof?
I don't watch the office. From what I have seen, it's just a bit too corny for me. More cornball slapstick and less witt. I hear it's really good so perhaps the things I have seen were bad samples. I'll give it a try and watch the first episode sometime soon.Quote: AZDuffmanOh, my, Wizard would be upset.

Yes I am calling that little thug a racist.
I do have reasoning for considering him a racist, but I’m weary of detailing it here because I fear some members would feel targeted.

So you pretty much either have nothing or your line of reasoning would end up accusing a whole bunch of people who aren't racist of being racist.
Perhaps your definition of "racist" is screwed up.

Only odd if you are afraid to act like a man. Where I come from to act like a man is something to shoot for.
You never heard of "separating the men from the boys?"
Quote: AZDuffmanNo, please man up and tell us why a kid minding his own business is a racist. This should be good!
It's all those racist insults the kid
was hurling at the old Indian as
he breathed in the kids face. Oh,
wait, the kid never said a word to
him. Maybe he's a racist because
he never spoke to him. Indian hater!!

Why is this a liberal/conservative issue?
Quote: RogerKintIs it just me or does the left almost seem disappointed that a black man wasn't lynched? They so desperately need these stories to push their commie agenda.
The only people that agree with you are people that think everything is a right/left issue.
Edit - there’s enough examples of real racism that everyone should be happy when it doesn’t happen
Some of the students have painted there faces black and hurl insults against black players
Whether they did more than that is the issue and pushed agenda and caused harm is the issue. (I think) (not a lawyer) (I may be wrong)

Not sure? He's done absolutely nothing
racist. The problem on the Left is, the
kid was innocent. And now they're seething
that not only were they wrong about him,
he's going to end up fabulously wealthy
because of the media's jump to judgement.
They just can't stand it.
Even if he only gets 10% of the amounts

times over. All for doing the right thing.
I'm glad it was a fabricated story. If the way he told it was actually what had happened, I believe it could have led to a lot of violence. I think his punishment should fit the crime he conjured up, and add to the sentence a few years because it was a "hate crime", trying to stir up racial conflict.Quote: aceofspades

I'm not disagreeing with Ed that possibly the WP might have not erred enough to properly lose the lawsuit, but in the real world a million or so with a Stormy Daniels type non disclosure agreement is not that big a price to pay for their pathetic reporting.
I don't think WaPo will settle or lose.

There is a picture from 2012 showing some of the students in blackface. I doubt that this one was in it.
Yes, racists probably do attend his school.
Yes, racists probably attend many schools.
Yes, there are some racists in America.
Just not as many as some of you would like to think.
The word "racist" is too often used as a crutch to label a group of people who may have a different opinion on an issue.
Finding one "racist" in a crowd and labeling the whole crowd as such is similar to thinking all people who are way to the left are part of Antifa. It allows one to ignorantly place a label on people, but it doesn't make that label correct or make the people who apply them look very smart.
I bet there is someone who is racist at almost every sporting event rooting for a particular team to succeed. That does not make everyone rooting for that team racist.

At this point, it doesn't really matter what you do or do not post here. You've pretty much put it out there that your definition of a "racist" is so broad as to include many people here.

Don't (pick a race or nationality):

Well, duh.
Is this not a widely known fact? It goes to show how skewed people's perception in social media bubbles gets. There are quite a few racists on this forum. (Which is fine, kinda. Freedom of speech and all...)

Well put. In the 1970s they were the ones who were in favor of bussing kids in the cities, but not their kids in the suburbs. Today they live far from the areas that illegal immigration affects. Song remains the same.

I guess it is widely known among those who have nothing better to do than calling names.
it is an easy way out and helps build ignorance by allowing people to use it as their argument instead of actually working on issues that are out there.

A young man from Vegas won $120,000 on Deal or No Deal.
Last October, he was working the Route 91 festival when all hell broke out. He saw a stranger shot in front of him and carried her to safety
