The government staying out of our lives is a GOOD thing for most of us unless needed for national defense. Less spending is a good thing.

Exactly
That's why I vote Dem
I don't want the govt determining who and who cant get married
My parents mixed race marriage was illegal in some states when they brought me into the USA for the 1st time back in the late 50's
A women's choice is her choice. Its her body. Govt needs to stay out
I like to smoke MJ. Jeff Sessions needs to chill and stay out of my life
The republican party got god and now wants a say in our lives. STAY OUT
The budget is exploding under Trump. Another reason to vote Dem
Its just a forum. Nothing here to get obsessed about.

I really can’t argue with any of them. I personally lean left on social issues.

The budget and deficits exploded under both parties, the GOP can never again claim they are financially conservative with a straight face. The are all addicted to spending.

I voted this morning around 8:30. I actually walked to the polling place cause it’s just right down the road from me and we were having decent weather at the time (it’s all gone to hell since then. Wind and rain.)

No line at all. In 2016, I had to wait in a pretty long line (that was in the afternoon though so I’m not comparing apples to apples). When I put my ballot through the machine it told me mine was the ~850th ballot in my precinct to go through.

We don’t really have early voting here in MI. You can vote absentee early, but it seems like kind of a hassle to go that route. One of the referendums we voted on today will help make absentee voting easier (also, the weed referendum!!).

Should be a good night for the Dems in Michigan. The GOP governor candidate basically threw in the towel already. And with our ballot propositions, we are on the verge of legalizing weed, ending gerrymandering, and making it easier for people to vote.

This is a large reason I vote Democrat. I know overspending is bad, but they both do it. Just in different places. So at this point might as well vote for the party I'm with socially. Many Republicans still use an ancient text to guide their morals.

If a republican was socially moderate or even liberal, I would vote for them if they were economically conservative. The problem is, they will never survive an election.

I tried to early vote in FL, but failed. Both times I went to the poling place, the parking lots were full, and there was a long line.

I figured since everyone voted early, there wouldn't be much of a line at my neighborhood precinct. I was wrong! At 7:05 AM, there was a line about 30 people deep outside the building, not counting the 10 or so people waiting in line inside.

The wait really wasn't too bad, maybe 25 minutes. Mrs. Joeman said she was in and out in 5 minutes at 8:45. Based on the news reports and my personal observations, I wouldn't be surprised if there is a record turnout (at least for a mid-term).

At my polling place, the lines were 15-25 minutes long all morning. Three vans rented out by the Democratic Party of Nevada brought almost eighty people to the spot. A single van rented by Republicans brought maybe ten all morning. I hope that plays out nationwide. Several of the Democratic volunteers told me they had voted for Trump and Heller last time and weren't this one.
I still do not like two weeks of early voting. If for no other reason, the poll workers are looking mighty frazzled today. Many of them have been doing 10-12 hour days for the past week. Poll watching used to be a twelve hour day, once or twice a year, not a seasonal job.

Or Republicans actually have transportation of their own and are part of those long lines.

And how do you know how these people voted? Did they give them free $1 Steaks on the ride?

Sure
Lets hear your story
If it passes my personal lie detector test, I am on your side

Who sexually assaulted you
Did it involve gay sex? Do you swing that way anyway or was it forced?

Bill Clintons accusers passed my personal lie detector test
Donald Trumps accusers passed my personal lie detector test

I never said I was sexually assaulted. I said I’m accusing them of sexual assault. You said you wouldn’t vote for an accused sexual assaulter, or are you going back on your word now?

All I said is I’m accusing them of sexual assault and according to retarded liberal logic, that should be good enough.

This is a really weird position to take. Explain how those of us who didn't vote for Bill Clinton, Donald Trump, or anyone else accused of sexual assault would be stronger had any of us voted differently.

Golly.... I guess I need to explain the underlying concept he was making..... Not that he didn't vote for an accused, but that he didn't BECAUSE they were accused..... My point, even if i misinterpreted his post, is that making a proclamation that you wont vote for someone based on an ACCUSATION is a weakness. Too many McNuggets tonight?

You are, of course right. Someone wanting to vote republican might go through all the trouble of registering as a Democrat, letting the Democrats know they needed a ride to the polls days in advance and then wait an hour or two for the Democratic van instead of simply using the idle Republican van. It's the sort of warped thought process trump followers just might do. Sheer genius.

So no comment on the free Steaks? After all in Wisconsin you can give voters something up to a $1 in value as an incentive to vote for a candidate. Sounds like the perfect Dem scam, free Steak for a vote. Imagine their face when they see your steak.

And many breweries are giving a free beer with an “I voted” sticker. Has absolutely nothing to do with what I asked. I was talking about incentives to vote for a certain candidate, not just voting.

Or you could have just offered to share your total monthly government benefits. Keeping with the one dollar limit, you still could have influenced a good amount of people.

And I’m glad to see something consistently still works in the pile of junk you call a “car”. Sadly cash for clunkers isn’t coming back anytime soon.

My voting musings.....
I went to vote, line of less than a dozen in front of me this morning. Elderly couple right in front of me. The man was clearly senile, being led by his wife. The election worker showed him where to sign, he didn't seem to understand, his wife signed for him! They handed him a ballot, I do not believe he had any idea what it was. The wife clearly had two votes!
There were a bunch of down ballot races that only had one candidate and the candidate was listed on both the Democrat and Republican lines.

As of this moment Gillum/DeSantis virtual tie. Same for Florida Senate

Unfortunately a lot of votes to be counted in the MIA-FLL-WPB area. And they are running 60-40 Bad Guys at this point. Not enough votes left in the Panhandle. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Give credit to Juan Williams for being the first I observed at 843 PM to bring race up in the Florida race. Said being that Gillum is Black, he wonders how many people lied to pollsters about who they were going to vote for.

Amazing, unwilling to consider maybe his policies suck for many Floridians. He is a Bernie clone. I’ll be the 1st to admit this race wouldn’t have been close, and no clue who will win, if the Dems put up a more legitimate Democrat, not a Socialist.

The Primary voters in both parties selected the lessor candidate.

Actually I was sexually assaulted by Hillary Clinton and Ocasio Cortez. Sometime in the early 2000’s. Maybe earlier. Maybe later. I don’t remember anything else though. I don’t know when, where, how, who else was there, or anything like that. I had one beer though. My house has THREE doors. 🚪 🚪 🚪

Too vague
Nail it down to at least 1 year and prove you were in the same town
Minimum proof required for me to even consider this

This is kind of weird. I post that I don't vote for politicians that I believe have committed sexual assault regardless of party and you seen offended by that.
Why?

Not offended. You can use whatever backwards metrics you want when voting.

LOL @ "too vague". I don't remember what you said, but do/did you believe Ford? Do you think she was too vague? What about all the other whores who also falsely accused Kavanaugh?

Amazing, unwilling to consider maybe his policies suck for many Floridians. He is a Bernie clone. I’ll be the 1st to admit this race wouldn’t have been close, and no clue who will win, if the Dems put up a more legitimate Democrat, not a Socialist.

Yea right, my life will change and suck if Gillum gets elected FL.
Socialism. The govt of Florida will now control all businesses.
Private enterprise in Florida is dead
What a right wing fantasy.

Reality
My life isn't going to change in Florida.
It will be business as usual in Florida
Maybe, just maybe, Gillum gets his way and Florida companies have to pay 2 points more in taxes.
The horror. lol

Thanks, why do you keep bringing it up?

I listened to her testify and believed her.
Its as simple as that

You don't believe Ford. I get that. That's what you believe and that's fine with me
I believe Ford and it seems like you cant get that and it seems like you are not fine with it
Just kind of weird

In the last 15 minutes, the 538 forecast has gone from an ~85% chance of Dems taking the House to a 95% chance.

I’m gonna put a hit out on Silver if he’s wrong.

EDIT: now down to 92.7%

Lol now it’s only a 55% chance Dems take the House.

I’ve been saying control of the House is basically a coin toss for months.

And Fox still has 85% for the Dems. Who knows.

Edit: Fox calls it for Dems at 937.

One thing is clear: under President Hillary Clinton, the GOP would have gained a 60+ seat supermajority in the Senate tonight.
