No. No you didn't. You might think you did start the joke. But sadly it was not you. It was Nareed's highly 'controversial' poll that added the 'I'm a bigot' poll entry to every poll.
There may have been discussion about being a bigot at the same time, but you didn't start the 'joke' poll entry. You just wish you had.

As I revisited that thread I noticed something very unusual, Ibeatyouraces has deleted all his posts in said thread.

I have to correct myself. It seems tupp didn't start calling EB a bigot til 16 minutes after the poll was up. No free pass. EB was wrong, but just by a hair as it was almost simultaneous. The word bigot was being thrown around a lot back then. My how things have changed.

You are correct except that in Nareed's post it was not a joke, you agreed or you were a bigot. I do not believe it was made as a joke. Gay marriage supporters think you are a bigot if you do not support their position and say as much all the time.
It was and became a joke in polls after.

Exactly.
Evenbob may have been discussing bigots in posts previous to the hilarious Nareed poll but it was the poll choices itself in the Nareed poll that started the joke for a bigot vote in polls.

Three of his threads disappeared and if that isn't confusing enough, he gets nuked after being given a warning not to do it again or he will be suspended. He complied. He didn't do it again and got nuked anyway.
Sept 29th at 7:59 AM Warning - Next time will result in suspension. There was no next time.
Sept 29th at 6:32 PM Suspended and told to take it up with the Wizard.
Sept 29th at 7:24 PM "He's toast".
Kevin's time here was short and he won't be missed but the Suspension List gets another notch in it's belt. Message delivered.

LOL you're allowing kevintracy an avenue for appeal because you think it's remotely possible he was just shy? By this logic, every nuked person should have an appeal as of right because the events leading to a summary ban are never proved beyond a reasonable doubt to lack mitigating circumstances. To save the time and expense of a trial and appeal, if I am ever nuked, my ex stole my password and I have since changed my password and contacted the police. I'm very sorry for the fraudulent things she wrote.

Actually, every banning can be appealed, and several have. I wrote that for kevintracy's information; I still don't know what's going on there, so it's better to lock the account until (and if) there's an answer.

I'm not the Wizard, but he's very busy all week at G2E, so I'm going to weigh in (prefer not to leave this hanging out there). Is TaraBC being offensive in this and other posts? Yes, IMO, but in a way that combines opinion with facts, takes them and throws them out in an aggressive manner, without actually making a personal insult; just very negative opinions about events. The Wizard may well find Tara to be trolling or insulting to the point of a suspension, but I'm leaving that up to him when he has time to look at Tara's "contributions".
Did the Wizard try APing in the past, have some degree of success, but get banned from playing in some casinos in LV, making AP an unlikely revenue source for supporting his family? Why yes, he did, and he's blogged/discussed that many times before.
The innovation and contribution, sizeable and unique in my opinion, and I believe in the industry, arose directly from those experiences. The Wizard made himself, with a great deal of hard work, into a gaming de-constructor and player advocate in promoting quality, fair-odds gaming. He educated himself on the nuts and bolts of hundreds of products, then shared (!) his expensive, hard-won education with the gambling world free of charge.
The Wizard would not be The Wizard without having traveled that road, recognizing the lack of transparency and risk assessment for the player in the gaming arena. It's an object lesson for turning failure into opportunity and innovation. So, no, I doubt they're looking for a "better" Wizard; they already paid the price for the best.

If people were pro gamblers, or published mathematicians, egs, then they would have better things to do, and speak at length precisely of such.
But, when you get caught in between neither actually gambling, nor researching math at a post doc level, you, well, end up talking about a lot of personal stuff which can't make any difference to anyone else. (Maybe that's a question, I don't know. Maybe you guys are looking for a troll fight, I don't know.)

The world has changed a lot in the 5 years this forum has been active. Every time someone changes jobs, gets a new phone or tablet, or even roams, they appear as a new person. Not a lot can be done about the door being open. But doors work 2 ways.
I think the potential problems are obvious but would that be reason to reject the new member?
