I had the album when it first came out in 71. Kris remains one of my favorite songwriters. I can certainly relate to the Pilgrim but my story is a little bit different than his. I never had a future. All I ever had was low skill dead end jobs. And my booze habit rendered me unemployable for regular jjobs. Booze is hoe I wound up a homeless drifter. It wasn't until 1992 when I ran into casino gambling that a future started developing. I was broke and on the street at the time-and it took a few years-but I fought my way up through it in spite of my booze habit. Call me a lush but you also have to call me one of the best machine pros on the planet earth. Because that is exactly what I am. Take care.

Ok I read the whole suspension list and I've seen enough. I think I'm going to take axelwolf advice and get out. What worries me is that I saw some guy named StandOff got permanently banned on the first offence for trolling. But then I saw another guy named buzzard who is on the list for trolling more than any other forum member yet he is allowed to stay for god knows what reason. That smacks of favoritism and I have a feeling he must be friends with Wizard or one of the other administrators. And I bet poor StandOff is not.
This unequal punishment reminds me of a gardening forum I was on a few years ago. The woman in charge put her asswipe nephew as an administrator and he was bannig the IP addresses of his enemies but looking the other way when people who kissed his ass were just as guilty. I ended up leaving. ain't got no time for that shit
One thing Ive learned is that you should never ever ever put a family member or personal friend as an administrator. because if you need to get rid of them then the relationship will get strained, but if you don't then your forum will suffer. It's bad news all around.'

My wife is a huge Beatles fan and has the Love Me Do single. It's not pristine but is in surprisingly good condition for something 50 years old.
Let me comment on your blog question. I have been playing at the Connecticut casinos for 22 years. I realize that this is only two casinos and that they are the big ones so this only applies to them. In 22 years I have never witnessed or heard about any problems with the games themselves. Beat downs by security? You didn't ask.
Don't worry about the Suspension List. It's under control. Someday it will be donated to the Smithsonian.

Well, this needs a little response, though if the OP is gone, then the benefit will have to be to other people.
StandOff, and many other names on the list, are actually new, illegal accounts by banned members, created to continue an argument, insult someone they don't like, or spam the board with ads or systems. I would guess that roughly 75% of the unique names listed belong to a couple dozen ex-members who do this deliberately, over 4 years of operation, and one-time spambots and uninvited sellers.
Buzzard, OTOH, is a real person known to many of us, and likes to express himself in strong language and direct confrontation at times. He specializes in dancing on the edge with sarcasm and humor in his posts, sometimes as the only one who finds himself funny. And he sometimes falls off the cliff and genuinely offends people. He is also a game designer and gambler, with special expertise in racetracks and running numbers, and adds character and historical perspective.
There is no comparison between the two. I favor real people with unique perspectives, no question, over those who spam the board with insults and obscenities after they've been banned for cause. That's my job.

He joined the strike EB, myself, and perhaps a few others were on to protest rules here getting too tight for those without the "correct" views on some issues. In the end the off topic stuff stayed there and we came back here in a smaller way.

You are partially incorrect. When making some valid points I was told I was being "hurtful" and to knock it off. So I knocked it right off to DT where the crowd was not afraid to discuss their views against a logical rebuttal. Since that time the aforesaid subject has kind of died out here, but the DT board has also found more of its place and hosts more non-gaming topics, not just the "too hot for WoV" topics.

I had to read that last part a few times to get the point, but I think I got it. To reply, most good forum posters "troll" to a certain extent, but the good ones do it in a logical way to advance the discussion. There are trolls who act like 5 year olds with a response of, "well you think that because you are stupid!" These folks usually do not last long, either getting banned, blocked, or losing interest as people ignore them.
There are other trolls who formulate their opinion in the form of a "have you stopped beating your wife" question. For an example of this, look to how the "I'm a bigot" thing got started. For our newer readers, what is now a forum joke got started as a poll where you agreed with the position or "admitted you were a bigot." I disagreed and took the bigot option. Later I added it to a poll as a joke, then a few others followed, now it is an institution. These folks usually get blocked by people they disagree with and rarely will use logic in their discussions. For this reason they cannot defend themselves well when challenged so seek to surround themselves with those who agree with them and avoid those who do not. They may or may not get banned.
Then there are what you might call "trolls" but they are really being provocative and trying to move discussion. They will use facts and logic but may do so in a way to make the person with the other point really reach to defend their position. In radio, the best example here is Tom Leykis. For those who never heard his show, he will take a position which is way, way to one end. Then put out a few defenses, after which he invites those who disagree with him to challenge him.
Limbaugh does the same but in a different way. Most good radio hosts do the same. Why? Because the discussion is where the entertainment is! Nobody wants to listen to a bunch of people who agree with one another pat each other on the back. Nobody wants to read the same. It would be totally boring. People do not want flame-wars, but smart people like smart discussion. But to cook a good soup you must stir occasionally.

Actually my understanding is the bigot joke started with a Nareed poll.
Doma was struck down, Nareed thought this was good news.
She put up a poll that was hilarious, only 4 choices , Ecstatic, Delighted, happy, or I'm a bigot.
