Quote: Sabretom2Numerous flights in and out of Mexico City have been changed due to volcanic ash.
Yeah, overreaction is so typical these days we may as well call it reaction :)
Really, the volcano's been active for about a decade now. It burps from time to time, which is a very good thing. Think, each event where steam, or rock, or ash, or lava is released, means a release of geological stress. That also means no major pressure buildup is taking place. So it may affect the local farming towns nearby (land near volcanoes, like floodplains, is unusually fertile) from time to time, and sometimes there will be evacuations, but overall it's no big worry.
Consider Mexico City, in various incarnations, has been where it is since the 1320s or so. And all that time it's been known there's a semi-active volcano nearby (Popocatepetl means "smoking mountain"). It's been the capital of four "empires" (really! Mexican history is hilarious that way), and over 20 million people live there now (counting the surrounding areas). A mild volcano is the least of my worries, when there's crime, traffic, pollution, high cost of living, earthquakes, floods and corruption.
If you want something to worry about, there are at least three other nearby known volcanoes which haven't done much lately. One of them much closer to me. There are lots of mountains around, too. Any of them may be a volcano and no one's realized it yet.
Quote: Sabretom2I apologize for any concern I may have implied.
I didn't mean it that way. I meant why the sudden concern, when I've been as active as ever here. I mean, really, if I were buried under a mountain of ash, I wouldn't be posting here (I'd be googling how to escape from underneath a mountain of ash, naturally <w>)

Are you saying the ignorant bastards are still canceling flights even though you've said it's no big deal?
Quote: Sabretom2Are you saying the ignorant bastards are still canceling flights even though you've said it's no big deal?
The nerve of some people, eh?
No other flights were cancelled as far as I know.
Interesting how things change over time.
Now guys like Ralph drive a Yaris.
Quote: Sabretom2Truth is, I went to my Southwest account to make a reservation and saw a travel advisory was in effect.
Ah, yes. That's one of a few types of websites not obsessed over the accident in San Francisco.

Thats a dogs name, my name is Bob.
Quote: DeMangoSpeaking of other identities, EB goes by "Spike" on other boards. The fur flies there as well. Any other ID's we should watch out for across the boards?
Ba da bing ...
I will be making my 2nd visit on the Revel promo in a couple of days & would like to report the experience to the board.
My first visit seemed to generate significant interest.
Any chance of time served for good behavior?

Your suspension ends tomorrow according to the Suspension List. It looks like you slipped through the cracks.

The sign should be the other way around since hell is so much an easier a place to go.

No, they just don't let you win at VP except on the redraw!
...And only while playing at Revel...!
The only way to win is with a 13-card Charlie in single deck, and the dealer has to bust, as well!
...at the Revel...!
Quote: AxelWolfNareed is there a prize for getting to the 10k mark? Just wondering I'm probably the pot calling the kettle black here since this thread has nothing to do with gambling, math, Vegas or odds but what percentage of your 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000.posts are about such things?
I've heard of thinking outside the box, but is there a prize for typing outside the box...?
Quote: dwheatleyNo. Someone forgot to actually suspend you. That's pretty funny.
I think the Wizard will see the humor here when he reflects on it. This whole thing is pretty funny.
It reminds me of a trailer I saw for a recent movie:
"Santa, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy Join Forces in 'Rise of the Guardians'
The plot revolves around the Boogeyman, voiced by Jude Law and re-named Pitch, who aims to spread fear throughout the world. The Guardians join together and welcome in a new member in Chris Pine's Jack Frost as they attempt to protect the imagination and hopes of children all over the world."
Here, the "Wizard of Vegas" suspended a TA "Destination Expert" to save our souls.
Will the "Destination Expert" join forces with the likes of "Coupon Mama" and "About .com" guides in an attempt to deprive the Wizard of lucrative free shipping codes & useful tips about how to change the oil in his wizardmobile?
stay tuned

Went to pawn shop looking for bike for granddaughter, had scanner wand new in box for $9.99

Quote: 1BBI see that the DT site has issued it's first suspension but has not enforced it's own Rule 15.
I doubt if he would get banned over there and even attempt to post over here, anyway. If he does, I'll ban him over here for the remainder of his ban there.
In the meantime, DMSCR is Suspended for Three Days for the following personal insult:
https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/tables/14959-turning-losers-into-winners/#post266168
EDIT: I'd like to make a correction, DMSCR already has a personal insult under his belt. That'll teach me to make assumptions based on the fact that someone doesn't even have fifty posts. The personal insult for which he was already Suspended was pretty harsh and he was given Seven Days for a first offense, thus, this one is Fourteen Days.

Someone who is permanently barred from posting.
Sort of like when Adam and Eve were expelled from the Garden of Eden and told never to return.

Oh! You mean Blob Dinger!
I won't gripe too much, though, because (1) I don't post often, so the suspension really isn't that big of a deal, (2) I was suspended for 3 days even though I called him an egomaniac twice and (3) I believe the moderators do a very good job of keeping order on this board and are generally pretty fair and level headed. Keep up the great work.
I for one wish you would post more often. I know the Luck brothers valued your input on Riverboat Roulette.
cruel, Pierce, so cruel.

I hope N. Korea does't get a hold of this temporary nuke option! The very idea that a nuke could be temporary is insanity.
The destruction could be immense.......... ;-)

Temporary nuclear option?
I'm gonna bomb you into the next life (for those who believe in such a thing) but you can come back in 7 days...

Indeed, that should have been "a loose construction of Rule 5."
