If that is indeed true I feel badly for him. Gambling addiction is no laughing matter and his willingness to believe that he can overcome odds at low HE games like bac and craps is a harbinger of bad times ahead. Likely he went through bad times at fallsview a few years ago too when his bacarrat strategy got the best of him.

I am all fine and good with gambling strategies involving money management and working streaks. But one has to understand the math of the game first.

Likely of course he believes in dice influence. Many people do. Confirmation bias is a very powerful thing and indeed it is possible with a consistent betting strategy to win at craps long term (years of part time play) by just having a positive variance enough to overcome house edge for the length of time you are playing. One sigma might be enough.. I attribute my win-loss at craps to good luck.

But more importantly to those who believe craps is a social game (it is) you develop a decent camaderie with other players if you buy into the superstitions and make it look like you're trying to do something with the dice that "looks" like you know what you are doing, be either setting it, betting at the proper times, avoiding stacks of chips when throwing, etc.

But in my craps career which spanned about 7 years I might have had 2 rolls which stick in my mind. Over seven years and about 1,000 hours of play that might be about right.

I agree. I wonder how many people who finally learned the lesson that all betting systems eventually fail then get sucked into the dice influence world. I've never once met a practitioner of said "advantage play," who kept track religiously of every throw to verify a skill at it. No, it is always a vague story like, "I throw a lot of nines."

I've been seeking evidence DI works for over ten years now and still have almost nothing but stories and adjectives, which you can get from any betting system believer too.

Id be more inclined to believe in DI, 'IF' there wasnt a back wall that you had to hit and 'IF' the back wall wasnt filled with spikes.
Any private business open to the PUBLIC (ie. droned out casinos) cannot have a criminal trespass enforced against an individual without GOOD CAUSE (Disruptive or Disorderly conduct). You will never go to prison for being thrown out of a casino for legal advantage play and then returning because it's simply unconstitutional 'as applied' to the individual. 'As applied' constitutional issues must FIRST be raised in DISTRICT COURT (trial court) to have it thrown out. You CANNOT raise it on APPEAL This is the best kept secret in the world of casinos not just in Vegas but everywhere in the country. Thank me later.

Homelessnyc is suspended for trolling.
Every single post he made this morning (see below) is a troll of darkoz. Several contained personal insults.
Sentence to be determined.

When I read into those links I see DarkOz being equally "trolling". Actually, I see 2 people bickering back and forth. I think Homelessnyc was more right than DarkOz. Just my opinion. Maybe the sentence should be lifted or both go into time out.

You could be right. Each insult was relatively minor, but the totality was too much. Several of the things he said have gotten other people a time-out (the stuff about reading comprehension and education, etc.) That brings up the issue of equitable moderation; if others got suspended for those comments, I can't just ignore these.

It's also true that darkoz was laughing him off, and giving some back, but it was homelessnyc that started it in both threads .

It's also his 4th offense for personal insult, and he was previously Martingaled to 14 days.

So I've asked Wizard to review it before I take further action. For now, he stays in red.

Fourth ban and fourth example of how disgustingly bias the moderation is here.

It's a shame this mod wants to follow her own rules and not enforce the rules of the site and do it equally. You can have two users do the same thing and only the one who isn't liberal is banned. Plain disgusting.

With that please ban my account.

I don't notice any bias. Unless your definition of bias is having to continually reprimand childish posters.

Since you'll now have even more spare time on your hands, please consider using some of it in adult education classes to learn to spell the basic forms of simple words that are normally in an average eight year old child's vocabulary, so they can be used correctly in a simple coherent sentence in your native language. Such as the simple commonplace adjective form of the noun "bias," which is "biased." B-I-A-S-E-D. The inability to do so makes it next to impossible for one to consider any actual substantive content to the sniveling & whining, no matter what your or someone else's politics might be.

And IMO these chronic childish little virtual suicide gestures really need to be made less temporary & cheap. Like real consequential statements of actual conscience throughout human history from Saint Agnes to Joan of Arc to Ghandi to Quang Duc & the buddhist monks of Saigon to Neda of Tehran, so unlike these infantile inconsequential tantrums. I suggest the following small rule addendum (call it The Buzzard Prerequisite): No resignation without immolation!

Suck dope, watch TV, make up stuff, be somebody on the internet.

The great likelihood is that there would be passages around a lodged ice cube stuck in an airway that you would be able to breath a little around it and not die. No guarantee however.

It depends on whether the ice cube is simply lodged i. Your throat and melting or went down your airpipe

If its down your airpipe melting water is going into your lungs as you gasp for air. Most likely drowning while you asphyxiate

In this made up scenario, the size of an ice cube needed to fully block your trachea, would likely have not nearly enough water to 'drown' you. You would cough for a bit if you weren't dead from asphyxiation, but likely be able to either absorb or clear the water.

I've taken care of patients in pulmonary edema, and they continue to cough up frothy liquid, far more than a single melted ice cube.

Until this thread, I have never heard of someone dying from asphyxia due to an ice cube. I'm sure someone will post a link......

Seems like your body heat would melt it sufficiently fast enough, and the force of a cough would then dislodge it. And generally some water makes things slippery.

Breathing a foreign substance into your airways is called lung, or pulmonary, aspiration. The substance could be food, liquid, medicine, mucus, or saliva. Aspiration can cause choking. ... It is coordinated with breathing to prevent anything in your throat from going down into your lungs. A person with dysphagia and constant aspiration, chokes afaik? Choking is when something is physically blocking your airway.

Aspiration is when a liquid or solid enters your lungs through your airway.

Aspiration is when a liquid or solid enters your lungs through your airway.

I take it then, that you disagree with the link that says, "Aspiration can cause choking"?

What would you call a patient who has severe dysphagia that can't get air because of their own saliva, trapped at the epiglottis, because the nerves to the epiglottis have been burned?

1. Choking
(of a person or animal) have severe difficulty in breathing because of a constricted or obstructed throat or a lack of air.
"Willie choked on a mouthful of soda"
synonyms: gag, retch, cough, fight for breath
"Christopher started to choke"

Choke holds interfere with the blood supplying the brain, as I understand. Oxygen enters the lungs still. Kill the head, and you kill the body, someone said.

airway chokes would be strangling, I think.

I remember an old, Quincy M.D. episode in which the death turned out to be a splash of water on the epiglottis. Apparently, if it's the right spot, or the person has some predisposition, it can cause the epiglottis to close permanently, until the affected person is dead.

ep·i·glot·tis

noun
a flap of cartilage at the root of the tongue, which is depressed during swallowing to cover the opening of the windpipe.

I thought the political threads had more leniency since most debates turn bad? I have the thread blocked so I have no idea what was actually said.
