Quote: bobbartopLook back at the coffee and the bread thread. It was a "new" member, just happened to join yesterday, apparently so he could comment about coffee and bread, and that's all he posted. Don't you smell a rat? lol
No, I didn’t open that thread so I didn’t know who created it.
Quote: MDawgWiz, I believe you made the right decision, for this situation, given the players involved.
Thank you.
Quote: MaxPenIt's not like you don't have a second chance. What's stopping you from something like that? Makes a whole lot more sense than the mass of confusion that currently exists. As long as the appointed moderators are capable of being with limited bias that sounds like a formula for success.
I think it's too late now here. Everybody is used to the way things are already policed. Maybe I'll adopt those rules at DT, but I doubt anybody will notice the change.
Yeah, I thought so too but I chalked it up to a humorous part of a period of transition. After all, it was never about Trump the tempest was about the zillions of Trump posts.Quote: bobbartopI was under the impression that some wise guy joined the Forum today and posted those bread and coffee posts as a joke/prank.
So now we hit the re-set button and i'd like to say thank you to all the unsung heroes in this: The Moderators.

You're welcome. Nice to get a compliment for every 100 complaints.
One more compliment here.Quote: WizardYou're welcome. Nice to get a compliment for every 100 complaints.

+1
Quote: GWAEI am glad that you appeared to listen to some of our suggestions. Then op was banning all non vegas/gambling. Now it appears that just controversy is banned. I am happy for those improvements
I thought the ethics of AP was controversial. At least according to people like Paigowdan, and others.
Quote: ParadigmA whole day with no AMS posts...WIz, it's working :-), just look at that content change in the recent thread line up!!
Nothing interesting to talk about here. Not even any good new gambling threads. Sorry I don't care about what anyone here eats.

So you come into the forum today , and post, to let everyone know there’s nothing interesting to talk about.
A better approach would be to only post when you feel there is something interesting.
I DONT WANNA GO TO DT!!! *STOMPS FEETQuote: michael99000They should just take it to DT.
The best place for a discussion no one wants to read, is a forum that nobody else views.

I may have to do some kind of game with prizes to promote interest.

I posted in response to someone saying I hadn’t posted. Had he not said that, it is likely I wouldn’t have posted today.
Had you not responded to that post, it is likely I wouldn’t have posted twice today.
It’s a vicious cycle.
Bribery will get you everywhere!! Open that wallet wide, its going to take a lot.Quote: WizardI may have to do some kind of game with prizes to promote interest.
Can we have a Name That Sock contest?
Of course, you know it will be like an AP convention. Everyone will come over, fill up the forum, rape your promo, piss off your regulars and exit faster than they arrived, once its over.
I really dont want yet another forum to wast time on. I like a one place fits all. I really have no clue why you can't just make a rule. Some subjects might be too controversial so we reserve the right to delete or lock any and all threads we deem as such. Anyone caught trying to make multiple controversial threads will lose their new thread making privileges and be put on probation. If you don't know what's considered inappropriate please ask a moderator prior to your post.
P.S. last time tried to log on to DT my password didnt match, I have no clue what email I used for that site. Any suggestions?

You're probably right. When did you cross over to the dark side?

Click "reset your password."
Have you tried creating a sock account? I hear that works pretty well over there! ;PQuote: AxelWolfP.S. last time tried to log on to DT my password didnt match, I have no clue what email I used for that site. Any suggestions?
Quote: GWAEdoesnt 2+2 work on a point system? If you do or say something stupid they give you points. If you have too many points then you are out for a little while. Cant come with with the correct word but it takes the guess work out of how long the suspension is. If the policy is 5 points is 3 days then you get 3 days. Once you hit 10 points it is 7 days, etc.
The forum I mod at is on a point system too. The vast majority of violations we give are political. People just love to slide in a political joke here and there, even though it's against the rules.
Quote: WizardAfter some discussion, site ownership and management have decided to make a new rule forbidding non-gambling and non-Vegas topics, especially those concerning politics, religion, and sexuality. This is not necessarily permanent. We will reevaluate after the dust has a chance to settle.
I totally understand and respect this rule change.
Funny, though, because our current US President has a background in casino gambling, and I was actually going to post something about his casinos on this site, but I'm happy to do it over at diversity tomorrow.

I am guessing that you could post specific information about Trump casinos without specifically mentioning the owner or any politics.
Something along the line of "Trump Taj Mahal used to offer a 3/2 blackjack game that paid a 2:1 bonus on suited blackjacks".
Quote: TigerWuI haven't read all 33 pages of this thread so I don't know if this was already covered -- but are we still allowed to make prop bets regarding politics and elections? I have a few active ones with forum members but I can think of a few more I'd like to make.
I think things have shifted more towards procuring day old bagels and donuts. Currently the hippest new trend is soliciting funds from other members without the need for wagering. Every step forward is progress and progress is essential.🤓

I’ll go ahead and actually answer your question. My understanding is that sort of thing is permitted if in the context of betting or gambling without making any politically-charged arguments or talking about political opinions beyond the wager itself.

Yes, you can. As long as you don't make it political.... Just the betting part is allowed.
I never seen this post until now. There's not much forward progress going on nowadays.Quote: MaxPenI think things have shifted more towards procuring day old bagels and donuts. Oh, you probably mean "Say goodbye to the Dumb's traffic!"

I like it, I like it a lot. A comment from EB would be the icing on the cake.
