I must admit that I accidentally opened a few entries. However, I'd like to be able to enter the picks as they come in, so I won't be stuck with doing it all at once on Saturday morning. Any objections? I already sent my picks into AyeCarumba right after I started this thread. Also, as indicated above, if I win I'll give the prize the second place person, so it isn't like I'm motivated to cheat.

Any objections?

I confiirm receipt of a PM from Wizard with his entry. It remains unopened in my in box. I’ll open it after the entries are posted to verify that they are the same.

Idk if this is against the rules, but I'm an outlaw, so I do what I want.

I didn't look at the book's numbers, I just chose some numbers that I thought were good. Apparently I was spot on to what the books put it at, for longest field goal and longest TD.

For any question where it was for one team or the other, TBH, I knew the Patriots are going to the superb owl, but couldn't remember the other team's name. I thought it was the Saints. Too lazy to look it up, and I didn't want to look like a fool sending my pick to Mike saying Saints, I just said screw it, I'm picking Patriots. Mike if you wanna change my answers from 'Patriots' to 'Rams', that'd be greatly appreciated. If you don't want to, that's fine too -- it's no skin off this cat's back, as they say.

EDIT: 99% chance DJATC sends in his picks at the last second.

Sounds like fun. For my submission I absolutely didn't look anything up, know much of anything about the game, and just literally picked the first thing to come to my mind with very little rhyme or reason.

I'll be expecting everyone to congratulate me half way through the game, when I can't possibly lose. =D

Thanks for organizing something fun Wiz! Much appreciated!

As is tradition, the tie-breaker is determined by whoever is listed first in the current list (as of now). https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/gambling/sports/32322-super-bowl-53-prop-bet-challenge/6/#post697213

If the list is updated then I may have to update the tie-breaker criteria. I am completely unbiased, by the way.

Pretty sure this is just for pride, which many of us still have fun playing for from time to time. So I wouldn't get all T's and C's and too concerned about something that more than likely will not happen anyways.

If her answer to ...

1. winning team

is a team that’s actually participating in the game , she will have already done better than I thought.

I almost wrote Saints tho. Then realized there’s a chance they aren’t in it so I put the team I was sure would be in it because was too lazy to verify who the Patriots are playing.

People pick round numbers for things all the time. I could have gone with 12:01 AM, but I wasn't going to accomplish anything until the morning anyway, so why not expend it a bit longer?

Again thanks for organising some fun. One idea is to use total shirt numbers of scorers or total yards as a tie breaker. btw not knowing American Football rules but soccer ones, does overtime count towards the over/under points and other similar bets?

Unless specifically stated otherwise OT counts for betting purposes.

Yes. NFL overtime points scored count towards the total.

If there is no score in the first OT, they evidently continue into a second OT period. Would this be double overtime or is it simply OT no matter how long it takes? I don't believe any NFL OT game has ever played through the entire first OT period.

Thanks for the answers about OT (fwiw in Soccer, extra time does not usually count for betting, except outright winner bets.)

I've discovered the rules for playoffs are at https://operations.nfl.com/the-rules/nfl-overtime-rules/ and yes they continue.

There have been ties, and I'm guessing now that overtime is only 10 minutes there should be more. You can see the most recent tie in the NFC North. Amazingly there have been some ties where both teams scored in overtime.

It's sudden death( or sudden victory). My question is if someone score 21 minutes into overtime, is it considered double overtime? In the playoffs, OT is 15 minutes, as opposed to ten minutes in regular seasons. In college or HS, its not unusual for both teams to score several times in OT as they start around the other teams 20-25 yard line.

They changed the rules so, unless the first team scores a touchdown, each team has one opportunity to score. Once each side has had a chance (and this may have been a recovered fumble if both sides touched the ball) then it becoms sudden death.

I don’t believe it would be considered double overtime. Because at the end of the 15 minutes, the team with the ball would keep the ball.

Now after the 2nd ot, there might be a halftime. That I don’t know and hope that it will never happen.

There’s not a halftime break, just 2 min, but the team that kicked at the start of OT, receives at the start of 3OT. If still tied after 4OT, there’s a new coin flip to start 5OT.

Thank you for your trust. It's a good bet, but I think it will fall to -800 by Sunday.

Better yet, find somebody who wants to bet the YES and split the difference between the Yes and No prices. Why go to strangers?

It would generally say 5OT in this instance like any other major sport score line. The Rams played a double OT game once in St. Louis.

Some of you indicated a winning team for the margin of victory. You didn't need to.

You guys sent these in with all kinds of different formatting. Some of your skipped a pick. It was not easy to format everything into consistent answers. I apologize if I got anything wrong. You may PM me if you feel I made any errors.

May the record show that the Wiz and I have bet double or nothing on the $20 he owes me from the Dead Pool on our prop picks. I think I won't look at his picks but will just follow mine, and then be surprised at my win or loss.

Wizard, it looks like question 10 not reported on your charts.
The race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong; but that is the way to bet.
