PUSH Eagles OVER 46.5 - CONFIDENCE
Please explain how an over/under 46.5 pushed?
Seems like 47 is more than 46.5, so DJ gets a confidence win?
Quote: SOOPOOPlease explain how an over/under 46.5 pushed?
DJ made a typo... The o/u was really 47.
EDIT: Also RS must have hornswaggled me by typing in some wonky formatting for this weeks lines, so I say we suspend him for the rest of the NFL season with a fine

Would you have any interest in 47.5? I'm sure that could be arranged.
I'm wondering if a game flaw you've exploited all year may have just been discovered. Going to have double check. I'm farked, this game is over for me anyway.Quote: djatcI must have looked at the Browns/Bengals total and got mixed up. But hey it's only half a point, so let a brutha have 46.5

6/9, (6/10. 7/10 depending on MNF) Yet I'm looking at 3/6 as a best case scenario.
I chose the 2-3 biggest losers on this list. My whittling was worthless. How that happened I'm clueless. Guess I was afraid Brady wouldn't play and New England wouldn't care about obliteration.
I'll give you 5/1 you can't win two years in a row.Quote: djatctough for Colts -7.5 since they tied with 2 minutes left

If the line was 47 and score was 47 that should be a loss because it was not over ?
Not that I know of, it's not roulette.Quote: troopscottIf the line was 47 and score was 47 that should be a loss because it was not over ?
No, that's considered a push.Quote: troopscottIf the line was 47 and score was 47 that should be a loss because it was not over ?
If someone accidentally spelled the word "confidence" wrong, by interchanging the "f" and the "i" (conifdence, which actually happened this week), my program failed to recognize that as a confidence pick.
Now fixed, in case it ever happens again. (Confidence and Conifdence are now both valid.)

Michael99000 - Week 1
Miplet - Week 6
RisingDough - Week 11

VCUSkyhawk - Week 4, Week 11, Week 12
Vegasrider - Week 10, Week 11, Week 12
Wizard - Week 12
After one more week of no picks from VCUSkyhawk or Vegasrider, I will remove them from the standings.
The above standings correct a mistake I found regarding Michael99000's picks in Week 10. His Week 10 result of 3-3 was not reflected. (To clarify, his overall record of 23-23 after Week 9 remained that way after Week 10, when it should have been 26-26.)
Added, I once mentioned offering bet I would finish over 56% I believe, I'm barely there now. This is not easy, I'm sure at the time on my then skill level, my offer was very optimistic and not a good bet on my part.
Its so close that 1 6-0 or 0-6 will be a game changer.
There will be a few people who will finish above any former champion, and former runner-up, former show winner, etc. I'll win next year, no doubt about it.Quote: GWAEEwww look at jz making a move

No, just one win, but you can use it to make green year-round.
Quote: unJonSplitting the most average prize four ways is so basic.
That actually presents an interesting scenario: I never thought there would be more than a two-way tie, so the Super Bowl tiebreaker would come into play, or the two could just split it. In the case of a three (or more) way tie, I guess I’d just give each player the choice to take his share or play for more. I’d probably send a PM and set a certain day and time for decisions to be revealed.

There is always something that comes up. I wrote my employee manual. I spent countless hours on it and I thought I had everything covered. In the 7 months that we have existed I have had to revise it 3 times and I am about to revise it a 4th. Fan people always figured out a way around sonething.
Sounds like a push in every other bet people make. The odds of a tie aren't good. We don't have a bet between us, so that's just my opinion.Quote: RS@ people whom I made a bet with — what happens if djatc ties for first place? I say that counts as winning because technically that’s winning but I don’t want to get hornswoggled on that or anyone else feel like they got hornswoggled

Best way to resolve a bet is to wait until it happens and then arbitrage it out with a counsel, or a duel with pistols
No one likes to be hornswoggled ! So let's figure out a reasonable compromise.Quote: RS@ people whom I made a bet with — what happens if djatc ties for first place? Esteemed Forum members, ideas ?
If the tied parties agree to a tiebreaker, then the bet follows the tiebreaker. If the tied parties agree to split then it’s a push.Quote: JohnnyQNo one likes to be hornswoggled ! So let's figure out a reasonable compromise.

The word "esteemed" pretty much rules me out, but I think if you offered to bet on a tie the odds would be quite long. As a result, Im not worrying about it.
That being said, I think the people who have action are the only ones whose opinion matters.

but they are biased so I think it would be wise to ask for outside influence. Although I think the ones that are involved should state their opinion. Maybe they all have the same opinion so then ours doesnt matter.

That's fair. Well... Rules of the game is that points in the Superbowl is a tiebreaker, so I think the argument that there are no ties is the most reasonable.
I thought players had the option to do the tiebreaker or split the money. So a tie is possible if the players choose a tie (which means the side bets should be a push, IMO).Quote: RSI didn't even consider a tiebreaker scenario with the Superb Owl. I assume that makes it so no ties are possible...or are ties still possible under that scenario?

I dunno, but I wanna see that owl. It sounds superb.

You could argue that splitting first place money signifies a first place finish too.
Quote: Mission146HOW TO PLAY:
The Rules will be as follows:
Format:
Top Three Paid as Follows:
First Place: The Sum of ALL Entry Fees Less $125
Second Place: $100
Third Place: $25
There are also two Consolation Prizes for those who do not finish in the Top 3. I will contribute $75 to each prize for $150 total.
Consolation Prizes:
The first consolation prize will be the, "You suck," consolation prize. This prize goes to the player with the worst record, if there is a tie, then the winner shall be adjudicated by the normal tie breaking Rule or the players may opt to split it.
The second consolation prize will be the, "Most Average," consolation prize which goes to the player that finishes the season closest to .500. Tiebreakers will also be adjudicated using the normal tie breaking Rule or the players may opt to split it.
Rules:
1.) The winner will be determined by having the highest winning percentage. In the event of a tie for any prize, the winners will have the option of either splitting the take, or they may agree to PM me a Super Bowl pick prior to the Super Bowl, but after the combatants are known, consisting of the winning team, spread and TD's thrown; the winner will be determined in that order. If two Members PM me the same thing, they will BOTH be asked to change at least one aspect of their picks.
In that case, I would rule that a tie for first is still a first place win, since it is a win that includes both first and second places (takes out Venn diagram...)
I'll still let you buy out right now for $21. Offer still on the table, until Saturday night 11:59pm LV time.
Ok, last idea... Longest signature line wins? :-)
You're welcome RS.
I didn't read the picks rules very closely. I thought we had a tie-break system in place for a reason.
But I think what Shaggy said is fine with me. And in line with the (new?) option for chopping the pot.
