Can anyone guess what Nick Foles has done that Carson Wentz hasn't?

I think being the winning starting quarterback in a Super Bowl is one thing. With a 106.06 QB Rating, no less.

Who would have guessed Foles might perform so well?

I’m having flashbacks of Super Bowl 48. Eagles beat Patriots 28 to 20.

Ok, so they each scored a few more points, but the Eagles did win by 8.

I mentioned that being from Pittsburgh I couldn't root for either team. As the game is being played in find myself rooting against NE. So yeah, there's that.

Damn at the end I was outright rooting for philly. Wholly smokes. Last time that will ever happen.

Well obviously Philly cheated and paid the refs to call both of those catches in Phillys favor.
Just kidding, but the way the catch rule has been interpreted this year I'm surprised at least one of them wasn't overturned.

It's a GOOD thing that The Philadelphia Eagles won this year because IMHO, it was time for Tom Brady to STOP winning so damn much! One person winning so much could cause resentment from society.

Exactly! I mean he goes to the super bowl 3 out of 4 years and wins 2 times! That is so GREAT!

Time for some other winners.

Winners, Not the NE defence. they could not stop a high school football team tonight.
They had lots of tries. could not get it done.

1 punt in the whole game!

I'd like to think the Eagles wouldn't do that to him. There's not much loyalty in the NFL, but there's more than that. Why do you think neither Garoppolo or Smith ended up there?

Do you think he would rather play out his last year at 5.5 as Wentz’s backup? I believe he would accept a trade with a new 4 year 40M extension. So that leaves Cleveland, Denver, the Jets and Buffalo in the competition for him and Cousins.

Looks like more teams than Quarterbacks to me. Besides that, it'll be much more fun for the Browns to ruin someone starting at the beginning of his career, by drafting him, than to ruin someone who is already a little bit up and down throughout his career.

Maybe he will go to Cleveland. I guess the point I'm making is that he'll only go to Cleveland if he wants to, the Eagles (I don't think) would trade him there without consulting him on it. The only way I could see that happening is if no other team is offering anything close to whatever Cleveland might offer...and I mean, NOT. EVEN. CLOSE.

Exciting game to watch. Unfortunately, a net loser for me. I was too heavy on Eagles +4.5 yesterday morning so bet more Patriots money line to get in balance. While at the sports book I saw nice lines on first score to be a touchdown and under 3.5 field goals so bet those too. At least none of the bridge jumpers hit. Bottom line is a losing game for me but not a disaster. I think I had hope to hit my middle before Brady got sacked, if that is what they're calling it, with about two minutes to go.

Congratulations to all won.

Yes, a sack that results in a forced fumble is known as a, "Strip sack." It's recorded as both a forced fumble and a sack and was the only time the vaunted Eagles front would sack Brady that game.

...or more missed extra points than punts?

...or that (if I heard correctly) the combined total yards would break not only the Super Bowl record, but the NFL single-game record?

I turned on to watch a Super Bowl, and a Cal game broke out.

Just looking at the silly props... they had "how many times would NE owner be shown?" O/U 2.5... he was shown like 4-5 times.

They also had "How many times would Gisele be shown?" O/U 1.5... she was shown like 4-5 times.

I feel like every single super bowl they ALWAYS show the owners and QB wives NUMEROUS times. I might consider betting something decent on that next year if they have the owners or a real star QB's (like Brady) wife... especially at 1.5 O/U. Hell, the 2nd time I think they showed the NE owner they showed him, then showed him again just from a diff camera angle (which counts).

Didn't bet "a lot" but I thought it would be fun to throw a couple small bucks on the game with a teaser... Had NE +1.5 and the UNDER at 55.5... don't need to remind anyone how that worked out, lol.

Some of you know I'm an avid license plate collector. In another thread, someone posted a picture of just one of my California displays at a California DMV office. Up for a timely auction at Ebay is the license plate from Tom Brady's car from a 2010 accident. I'm very tempted to make a serious bid on this. How high should go?

Knowing nothing about licence plate collecting or what others would value certain things at... I'd imagine when Tom Brady retires anything he's touched will be worth a lot in its respective field (i.e. his license plate for license plate collectors). Tom Brady's plate, for collectors, I'd guess would be worth a lot of money, especially if he plays a few more years and wins another super bowl or two.

So again, being horrifically uninformed on the topic, I'd think his plate would go for at least $400-$500 (and as much as a couple thousand). So if you want it for some sentimental value, but you want to "break even" on it, I'd say up to about $400 should be a pretty good/safe bet?

Download an eBay sniping tool/app and let it get the item for you. You will be able to set your limit and let the tool do its thing. Never bid early. If it has a reserve message the seller and see if they will tell you how much.

You could say that about almost any collectible. As the owner of thousands of license plates, I'm pretty good at spotting a fake.

Back to the Super Bowl, I'm not surprised the sports books lost on this one. The squares love to bet overs on the props and there was plenty of things going over in a game that had the most total yardage in NFL history. Anyway, I recommend this article for more on the topic: Las Vegas sports books buried by Eagles, mystery bettor who won $10M.

Was the car registered to him or to his company? I think the value drops if he was simply renting and driving the car. Do license plate collectors value plates based on prior ownership? I'm not sure there would be vast interest from football fans, maybe some celebrity chasers.
To get good money, I would think you'd want to get it autographed.
If you decide how much you want to spend, you might send the seller a pm and offer to buy it outright. I don't do this, but lots of people do.

Idk about y'all, but we did some squares. Unfortunately it wasn't loaded up, but I won 80% of the pool. Yolo

Also unfortunately, I lost more on the Patriots ML than I won on the squares. Wasn't much though. Just made it difficult trying to figure out who needs to score what so that I can win the ML and some squares (not that it matters, but what to root for).

Tom Brady was a backup for a reason, right? The backup qb Brady started in his first Super Bowl and won it, right? It’s about the system a head coach creates and sells to the players. Bill Walsh created Joe Montana, not the other way around. What if Doug Peterson created the right system for the backup Foles?

My only bet is Eagles +5. I feel lucky (with points!) I would have easily bet Eagles -3 (with Nick Foles).

I’m still CELEBRATING WITH A LOT OF WINE! Philadelphia Eagles +5 was a gimme really! I was happy with the points too. I showed in another post that the stats favored the Eagles (even though ever so slightly). MOMENTUM was the biggest factor. Like I said, I would have gone all the way to Eagles -3. The last SB I lost was when I disrespected the Giants momentum in 2008. My vote was on perfection 18-0 going on 19&0.

I wonder whether the victory parade will be broadcast nationally on Thursday?

No doubt the Mummers will be strutting and playing in the parade, and they're always a sight worth seeing.

I wish the annual Jan. 1st Mummers Parade was broadcast nationally; they're one of the few things about Philly that I miss.

It was registered in another name. The auction says celebrities routinely do this for privacy reasons. I understand that decreases the value considerably. The main proof it was Brady's car, except in the legal sense, was there are lots of pictures taken of the crash with the license plate. Yes, it would be very cool to get his autograph on it. I don't have any means to accomplish that, unfortunately.

Very seldom do collectors value plates based on prior ownership. I fully admit the value of the Brady plate is not as a license plate but more of a Tom Brady thing.

What few times I've initiated an auction, I get bothered with offers to sell early. I find them rather annoying and suspicious. I never do that as a buyer.

Also, somebody mentioned snipping. I always do that. You'll save about 30% to 40% doing that. Bidding early just increases demand from your competitors.

Jay Ajaijijy or whatever is around -210 or -220 to not score a TD at tons of places.

He has 2 TDs in 18 games this year. Assume that he has run real bad and should have 3x as many tds. Even then, this should be a great bet.

Well, now he has 2 tds in 19 games in spite of his team scoring 154 points.

This bet was available everywhere and I am pretty convinced that the correct line was conservatively -400.

My hypothesis is that these lines will only move so far off the openers due to handicapping and they then become driven by arbitrage.
