Ultimate X is a video poker variant where they award multipliers for the next hand based on wins for the current hand. You typically pay an extra 5 credits/hand for this feature. However, the multipliers will never leave the machine until someone plays them off, so you can wager the normal 5 credits/hand to "play off the multipliers" on a machine where someone else abandoned them and those multipliers make that one round of video poker +EV.

Are the multipliers hard to see on the screen? Why would someone leave the game if they knew there was a multiplier on the next hand?

Not really. People are mostly dumb. Or in some cases, people may have gambled their last dollar away and they don't have a big enough amount left to cover all the hands.

What kind of paytables is Palms offering for these? I don't think I have seen better than 8/5 DDB or 6/5 Bonus for nickels yet..

I'm no help there. I've just noticed the active multipliers while passing by.

Yes, 4 Royal flushes divided by all the ways you can be dealt 5 cards out of 52:

(52*51*50*49*48) / (5*4*3*2*1) = 2,598,960

4/2,598,960 = 1 in 649,740

But if you're playing Joker Poker then it becomes:
(53*52*51*50*49) / (5*4*3*2*1) = 2,869,685 possible deals

Probability of dealt natural royal:
4/2,869,685 = 1 in 717,421.25

I think I got a dealt royal the other day. I was playing my usual speed (fast) and all of sudden the five royal cards came up in clubs. For the life of me I couldn't tell if it was dealt or on the redeal, I was playing so quickly. The cards all said "held" above them. Does it only do that on a dealt royal, or on the redeal too? I guess I may have gotten my first dealt royal. Of course it was on quarters with a small progressive ($1,136). Would rather have gotten it on the dollar progressive or ten-play, but can't complain :P

Probably a dealt royal. Page 5 of this thread has a picture of a throw away royal with no "hold" above the cards. Congrats!

I'm saving my next dealt royal for the $5 5-play I'll be doing in a couple weeks.
