NBA Blockbuster Trade between the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans

Introduction

On Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 the NBA announced a mid – season multi – player trade agreement between the Portland Trail Blazers and the New Orleans Pelicans. The Portland Trail Blazers are sending guard C. J. McCollum, forward Larry Nance Jr., and forward Tony Snell all to the New Orleans Pelicans.

In this new trade deal, the New Orleans Pelicans are sending guard Josh Hart, guard Tomas Satoransky, guard Nickeil Alexander – Walker, and guard Didi Louzada all to the Portland Trail Blazers.

The New Orleans Pelicans are also sending the Portland Trail Blazers a protected 1st - round draft pick as well as two 2nd – round draft picks. The 1st - round draft option is a protected number 5 to 14 draft selection for 2022 NBA Draft, and if it doesn't work out for this year (2022), then the 1st – round draft pick kicks out to the future for the Portland Trail Blazers franchise.

C. J. McCollum

This NBA shooting guard is a 10 – year veteran of the National Basketball Association played with the Portland Trail Blazers from 2013 until 2022.
