Just a suggestion re "scoring" your solution: I would be inclined to cite Wordlebot's "skill score" instead. It provides considerable insight re the efficiency of your strategy and how you might improve on it.

Thanks for commenting on my scoring system: I've been using it for quite a while, but you are the first to mention it. My idea was to show how quickly I was progressing towards an answer. Since I generally play using the "hard mode" constraints (but not actually IN hard mode), my score should never decrease from one guess to the next, though I have on occasion erred.

Your idea of using the Wordlebot skill score is interesting. The problem is that I am too cheap to pay for a subscription, so to get the Wordlebot skill score I have to replay my result in a Private tab. Also, I have observed that WB does not constrain itself to hard mode when playing, and furthermore it uses impossible (in the sense of 0% chance of being the solution) words in its solution.

I am glad to see that you've become a regular in this thread! The more participants we have, the better the discussion... and the sweeter the bragging rights ;-)

First time getting the purple column first! Today's seemed really difficult at first glance, but I came back and looked at it closer and it wasn't difficult for me. After I got the first group, I got the next two in less than a minute. Took me a minute to figure out how the green group was associated. I had to explain it to my friend.
