It was me. I'll put my initials on it. Thanks.

Romes they changed all edits by admins to say unnamed admin. Many months ago one of the secret admins made an edit and it said last edited by. Xxxxxxxx, (will sell who it was for $1500) that outed him/her so they changed it

Me too. I see last edited by "crossed out" BBB out and then RS in bold letters. So I thought you, RS playfully acted as if BBB edited your post and then you "crossed out" her initials and were like,"Okay, it was me, RS who edited this post." ;)
To make it crystal clear, here is exactly what I see.
"Do not try this at home. - BBB(I, Nathan copied and pasted it so the crossed out line in the triple initials doesn't show up in my post) RS*

I've sent a message to lots of people but no one seems interested. :(
Thanks!
So I hope there will be methods of participating in abstention.

I'm going to be on a cruise as soon as you get off. But i am led to believe since I'm paying like a million dollars I will get free internet. So for the boatload of money I will be able to participate and win $5-$10 back.... until Mike shames me into donating it to some charity.....

did you put the rules together (assuming a July 1st start still)
Quote: troopscottdid you put the rules together (assuming a July 1st start still)
Sorry, this time I will do this Survivor style and reserve the right to tweak the rules as I go. However, here will be the general rules:
- Players will be divided into teams of five players each.
- Who will be on what team will be my choosing. The first round will be random. After that, I can mix things up, or keep them the same, however I like.
- I will make public before each vote who is on what team.
- Each player must submit a "share" or "steal" vote to me by PM.
- The majority vote of each team will determine a single vote for that entire team. Like the electoral college.
- I will make public the team votes only, not who voted for what or by what margin. For example, I'll say "Team x voted share."
-
Prize money for each round will first be divided equally among all teams as follows:
* If all teams vote "share," then they split the prize money equally
* If all teams vote "steal," then nobody gets anything for that round
* If there are a mix of "share" and "steal" votes among the teams, then those voting "steal" shall share in the prize pool for that round and the "share" teams get nothing - The team prize money will be divided equally among all members of that team, regardless of the individual votes
- In the event non-voters cause a tie on any given team, I will randomly select a number for each player. The voting player with the highest number will break the tie.
- I will not have much tolerance for non-voting players. A waiting list will be formed once the game starts of people wishing to fill in the shoes of those who don't vote.
- Players may submit votes in advance if necessary due to being on vacation.
Any questions? I'd like to announce teams on Friday and set July 1 as the deadline for the first round of votes.

What happens if a player is banned from the forum during the game?
#8... so say the "prize money" for a week is $10. Say on one particular team 2 voted steal and 3 voted share... The 3 that vote share would get nothing, but since the majority vote was share the team wins money. However, it is split by the 2 "steal" members. Now, in this scenario, do they get $5 each, or $2 each (their original share they would stand to make either way)?Quote: WizardSorry, this time I will do this Survivor style and reserve the right to tweak the rules as I go. Rule #8 makes it sound like $2 each, which would NOT benefit "steal" players since they wouldn't be making any more money than if they shared (hence no incentive to steal). Do I have this correct?

They can still play by submitting votes through DT.

The team vote would be "share," since it would 3 to 2. The only way for the team to win money is if every other team voted "share." Let's say there was $10 in prize money and 8 teams, so each team would get $1.25. Every player would get $0.25, whether he voted share or steal.
This game is more of a team effort. Individual votes only determine what the team does. Any team winnings are split equally among all players on that team.

That would be right if the team win was $10 -- each player would get $2.
However, I see your point about not being properly incentivized* to vote "steal." As I wrote earlier, I reserve the right to change the rules as we go. I might change them that way.

I plan to start taking votes early on Friday. The number of players must be divisible by 5. If it isn't, anyone with an asterisk will be first to go. After that, it will be randomized. Anyone cut randomly will be first on the waiting list.
My first vote will be steal, by the way......
Let's just give Nathan 3 votes on three different teams.
Quote: billryanDo teams discuss this or does everyone just vote the way they want.
I didn't see anything in the rules about collusion.

I like this game.
You can't count on everyone in every group voting share. It just won't happen. At least one will win steal.
You also can't resolve to steal, because everyone else will too, so no money to anyone.
The only way to win, in my opinion, would be to select ONE group a round to select SHARE, and the REST to select STEAL.
That group can be selected randomly, or through some other means.
You can be sure none of the other groups will vote SHARE, so it is all up to the randomly selected group as to whether ANYONE wins any money that round.
So yeah, I'd leave it all up to one select group every round, to determine if everyone ELSE wins, or NO ONE wins.
Not going to lug my computer to Europe.
Can I give a proxy to another forum member to make my selections until I get back in a couple of weeks ?
- I don't think RANDOM is fair to the members that I get assigned to.
thanksomuch.....

Quote: prozemaI was just looking at tenure of the people on the list. It appears I am the most junior. If that is the case and there is a need to cut someone, I will volunteer.
Actually, I will be happy to go on standby rather than you, or optionally as the Wiz needs to make the numbers work. I'd rather see you get to play, and Jufo, and other folks who usually don't. So put me at the back of the line or on standby, please.
Quote: Jufo81If there is still room I would like to join.
I'm accepting new players until about 8 AM tomorrow morning.
At this time, I'm looking for a commitment from sodawater and Nathan. Both have offered discussion in the thread but never said "in." Lacking an "in," they will be assumed to be out. If some players need to be cut, I'll form a waiting list, with them on it, for an expansion team.
It's a total free roll, as in you do not have to put ANY of your money up at ALL. The Wiz is banking the game, so for the players it's just fun and maybe win a little bit. All you'll be responsible for is voting by the specific deadlines the Wizard will set, that's it =).Quote: NathanI'm in, how does this work? No. It’s a free roll.Quote: NathanDo I have to put up money in PayPal or anything like that?
The Wiz is putting up all the money. The point of the game is to figure out how much and to whom.

No Nathan, you don't have to put up money up front. Your word is your bond and you can generally settle up by internet banking, so long as you have a suitable US account. (If I understand correctly).
Oh and Nathan..... It's a freeroll. You CANNOT lose money. It's like a TV gameshow where Wizard is the host and he hands out prizes out of his own pocket.... Or not, depending on how badly we play.
In the last game, I won $15 which was about the average. This variant of the game is going to bring a lot of tactics into play. If team members screw each-other over they can all end up not winning and get pissed at each-other. So, cooperate a lot. Though part of the game is to not cooperate and to lie and steal. You will find the game makes some of us grumpy. the ideal is for us to milk the Wizard out of as much money as possible, so collusion is a good way to go.
